Amazing breakfast in a lovely location
when we first got there everything was perfect but the next day after the cleaning service came through our bed still had hair and crumbs in it! they didn't change the sheets or even check them
it was beautiful and comfortable
A jacuzzi by pool would've been great instead of just one in spa. I expected a refrigerator in the room.
Beautiful room and property. Rose garden around pool was glorious. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Tiny room and the bed not suitable for two adults. Expensive. Construction on the building was loud. There was no reserved parking and I had to walk a long distance with my luggage to my room.
Too expensive for what it really was. I can find a cozier B&B close to the water for a similar price. I reserved a "deluxe King room" but the room was fairly small, the bathroom was tiny and I don't know what was "deluxe" about it. Construction on other parts of the complex began around 8am every morning despite assurances that it wouldn't begin until 9am...and I wasn't told about the construction at all when I booked the room or when I checked in. All of that was surprise at 8am the next morning. The food was good at the restaurant, but pricey. Billing was confusing as my room appeared as a charge from the restaurant on my AMEX. Who spend $895 in one night at a hotel restaurant? Additional charges appeared as INTERNET although they say internet is free (internet is also quite slow, by the way). And evidently there is a "hidden" charge of $25 or so each night for amenities. Bottom line is that a lot of money was spent in three days and the value just wasn't there for this hotel. It's not a bad place to stay, just not worth it for the price.
Overall, it was okay. Bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. The food at the restaurant was really good and presentation was excellent.
I liked the room size and the cleanliness
Had some noise people playing in the parking lot early Friday morning
Price, location, modern room
Rooms were a bit small and older than we were expecting for the price we paid. However, the main building (with the suites and main area) look really nice.
Staff was very accommodating. Only one outlet wasn't working in the room, so they made sure to find us a comparable room immediately. Front desk staff was very helpful, and the facilities guy offered his assistance with moving our belongings to the new room.
The atmosphere, cleanliness and overall tranquility of the place. I've stayed here for both business and leisure and have had a wonderful time both times.
This walls and ceilings are thin - I could hear my neighboors above and below. Just too noisy to stay here again or recommend it.
The location is great and the staff were friendly.
Room size was a little small. There was also lack of central air but had a fan that did wonders.
Cozy rooms, a little on the small side but great non the less. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even sent up complimentary champagne and chocolate for my wife and I because it was our anniversary.
Nice quiet location.cosy rooms
Room and bathroom too small.
Located very close to shopping and restaurants.
The menu in the restaurant
It didn't have a spa to use. The pool was not really heated, And the staff parks in spots at your room, where you should be able to park not them. The shower was very big but was horrible with water pressure and the shower head very out dated.
The room was very nice and comfy, Staff was friendly and nice. The bed was great and the room was big lots of room. very clean grounds the dinning area was very pretty and is very inviting.
Location and comfortable bed
Really small bed and room.
Room is a bit small and at 8 housekeeping was trying to enter the room. Not that pleasant
Thereceptionist was really helpful and nice to us. Bed was comfy and the room was clean
music playing at 2am during "siesta time", thin walls, hotel price for motel lodging
That I had to leave.
I take 24 hrs to myself once a month. While mom's on hospice Casa Munrus has been my saving Grace. A hot shower, good nights rest and some pet therapy from the local grounds Cat. Purrfect retreat
The renovation project. My nicely detailed corvette had a thick layer of dust the following morning. Bob at the front desk did find me a water hose which I utilized wash my car.
Very hospitable staff
The room is small, drafty, and the windows are out of a 1950's trailer house. The bathroom has no tub, but a stand up shower and no exhaust fan. The bed is really old and has a lumpy pillow top, note:do not lift up the pillow top to see what is underneath. I would be happy with this room if I found it at 2am in a bad neighborhood and it had a partially lit neon sign and cost about $69 a night. It's a little slice of the ghetto right there in downtown Monterey.
The location is very nice
I stayed in one of the older rooms, so yes, it could use some updating and there was lots of construction nearby. If I left the windows open my dogs would hear someone and bark - and upstairs I could hear people walking around all the time - but I was prepared for that from what other reviews said. It really didn't bother me, though.
This hotel is perfectly situated away from the hustle of the main street but within a quick short walking distance. Plenty of places to go out to eat and enjoy the day within walking. Really liked that I could keep my dogs there with me, and the room was just right in size (I was never there, anyway!).
Being the first ones to stay in a fresh newly renovated room. No carpet! Comfy beds. Very nice.
