With a variety of area attractions, including Fisherman's Wharf nearby, this Monterey Peninsula, California hotel offers cozy accommodations and is ideal location for exploring area beaches, shopping...
Score from 276 reviews Very good
Nice room with fireplace. A very comfy bed.
Very thin walls. We could hear every word being said next door.
The hotel is too noisy. You hear all outside and inside noises. The walls are too thin. I could hear neighbors on both sides very clearly. The toilet ran consistently and the carpets need to be changed.
Friendly, courteous staff. Comfortable bed, good shower. Pretty entrance and patio area. Delicious healthy omelet for breakfast. Tasty latte coffee.
Hair dryers! I felt like I was in a comedy show. I went through 3 of their's in 15 minutes. Seriously, had a hard time getting ready quickly for the evening. The staff was sympathetic and gave us a breakfast voucher to compensate for the hassle. I know, it sounds silly to mention this, but it's in the details... Hopefully they have bought some new ones since!
C. M. has maintained the high standards we had experienced on two previous visits some years ago. Hopefully we will visit again.
Having to leave!!!!
Loved so much about it! I came down from the South Bay Area for the taste of Spain in your restaurant and was so looking forward to a nice relaxing wonderful night off ( I own a restaurant). Had a delicious dinner and wine. Went down to canary row for a bit then headed to that wonderfully comFortable bed (probably one of the nicest beds and pillows...like home... But.. see...what I didn't like...-->>>
At 6 am a recycle truck (sounded like it was just out side of my room..#126) picked up the dumpster and it was so loud it scared me awake and couldn't sleep after that. Then...I guess it woke everyone around me. The people directly in the back of me started fighting and that went on for about 2 hours...in the mean time the person immediately to my right woke up, turned on music ("rock the cazbar"...to be exact) and jumped in the shower. I guess he wanted to be able to hear the Bose sound system while showering. Please understand, I grew up in a large family so noise doesn't normally bother me...but this was excessive!! I had a massage scheduled at 10 am and cancelled it because I was exhausted. Left feeling very disappointed and rest-less
Lovely room with fire, large bathroom and loads of space. Very helpful and friendly staff as well as nice bar. Very close to the town centre.
There was a $2.50 charge for bottled water in the room. Usually this is complimentary. Otherwise, it was great.
We love the location of the hotel. It is within walking distance to downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. We love using the business center and love the cookies in the afternoon! We would definitely stay here again!
Wish bathroom was larger.
Helpful and friendly customer service.
Room was quite old and small compared to what's presented in the pictures. The tiles in our bathroom were cracked, the TV was quite old and displayed blurry. No air condition available in the room.
Good location for restaurants and Fishermans Wharf. Nice swimming pool.
Room got too hot in afternoon sun and it was very difficult to cool.
The staff were excellent. Their knowledge of the area was very helpful and they even recommended restaurants in San Francisco, which we were going to visit later in our trip !! Esteban restaurant was very good, nice tapas options and excellent breakfast.
The room got very hot, even without use of the fireplace and there was no working air-con.
Common areas. Decor. Location. Outdoor patio at restaurant.
Bed far too soft.
The bed was comfortable, and the fireplace made the room homey!
Chair is to high for the desk
I usually stay here pre planned, but this stay was an impulse one. Based on our previous stays, we enjoy the various amenities and comfort this location provides.
I asked specifically to not be placed on a corner room, but forgot to ask for a ground floor with a fireplace. I awoke Saturday Morning to the sound of the Garbage collector(8:30am on Saturday) and a view of the top of part of the facilities kitchen/restaurant area. No one asked me if it would be ok, but, we were so tired, it was only all an after thought. They should have some kind of record of your previous stays to know what you like and don't like.
Hotel furnishings and lobby were beautiful. Bed was very comfortable with good reading light.
This was a two bed room, meaning you expect two people to use it and only one chair in the room. The real issue was the bathtub. Mold and rust all around the drain and a 6 inch patch with adhesive leaking from it that also was black with mold it was disgusting. Too many places to pick from to go back.
I love the breakfast staff--particularly the two waitresses who have been there for at least a couple of years.
We had a little trouble with a leaky water pipe last stay--which was quickly repaired. This time we noticed a leaky gas pipe in the fire place, which was also quickly repaired.
We liked the independent buildings. It was like having a house of our own. The downside was that WIFI was not possible except by going to reception.
Wifi not available in the rooms.
Swimming pool Comfortable beds Proximity of hotel to centre
Location, friendliness of staff.
room was quite small, pricey.
the location and the tapas
poor ventilation in rooms had to ask for a refrigerator rooms aren't comfortable only one chair for two people
Liked that it's near the Monterey Bay Aquarium and highway 1 that will take you to Carmel. Check out Mr Clint Eastwood's restaurant there.
Easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Many restaurant choices, w/ one onsite (Esteban's). Public transportation nearby. Trader Joes, a couple blocks away. The hotel property is an older one. But, generally well maintained. There's a lovely rose garden by the pool. We had a "deluxe king room". Generously sized w/ a fireplace (not used). This was our 4th year in a row that we have vacationed in Monterey. Casa Munras is the 3rd property we've stayed at & the best! I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends & both my husband & I agree we will stay there again.
There were some noise issues, from room above - but it quieted down @a resonable time. No air conditioning - but, not really a problem. Not able to open windows for ventilation
Bed was comfortable. Restaurant was good - tapas. Fresh made chocolate chip cookies at registration.
No air conditioning. 90 degrees during day. Somehow, at these prices, I just assumed it would be present. Hair dryer provided, but cord less than 2 ft long. Flow restricted too much in shoer head.
The breakfast is not free, but it worth the money, very good, and you can take it as brunch. My wife likes the fireplace a lot.
wifi signal is not as good as we expect
There was an excellent heated swimming pool. The grounds were quiet and peaceful. The hotel gym was pretty decent. Lots of interesting places are within walking distance. The bed was very comfortable!
Breakfast left something to be desired. Overall though, great place!
