Police pulled cars over, adult shops nearby, room in poor condition. Walls very thin, can hear a vibrating alarm in the next room. The shower would not stay the same temperature, there was used soap in my shower. For the money, stay in a motel 6. The room is a 10x10 box

I did not like the fact that we asked for a no smoking room n the room we got smelled soo bad like Tabaco whn we got there the door was open as if to let the smell get out also the showers had no hot water well just a lil bit but it didn't work also their bed sheets smelled bad and had holes on them I had to stay cuz whn we went there it was to late n I couldn't complain so I had to keep my bby daughter in that mess n had to sleep in that uncomfortable place bt the next morning I did tell them n asked for at least half my money back n all they did was apologize I hated my stay there n I will never stay there again don't recommend it to no one

The TV was almost brand new and was great quality.

The wi-fi was so weak I had to keep re-connecting every few minutes. There were burn holes in the comforter even though it was a non-smoking room. There was plastic around the mattress that squeaked every time I moved. There isn't even an alarm clock in the room. Between the single light on the ceiling and the lamp on the bedside table, the room was very poorly lit. The walls were paper thin and I could easily hear the conversations going on in the rooms around me. There was no air conditioner in the room, but luckily the temperature outside was nice so opening the window helped with the heat in the room. Overall, the value for the money was terrible.

I did not like that people in the room behind us could see into our room through the vent in the bathroom.

For the rate, it was excellent but I would not stay there again-too primitive!

It was very noisy--could hear people in other rooms and traffic outside. No amenities such as refrigerator or microwave. Manager did have someone bring us a microwave when I inquired but there was no place to set it down where cord would reach a plug. Same with the coffee maker. Someone had to bring an extension cord in order to plug these in. Very tiny bathroom, no shower caps.

Rooms were clean, but somewhat old - to be fair, they're just about to remodel the whole inn, so be prepared to some improvements.

Considering what we've paid for better motels, this one was extremely expensive, but I don't know if this is Monterey per se, or because there's been some motorbike event this weekend.

Thank you for the opportunity to write something positive about this much maligned motel. I read some of the previous reviews on your site with fear and trepidation, but one or two reviews were positive and I took a chance on it as it was very reasonably priced and my friend and I had a very trouble-free stay. The motel is obviously very old and has been allowed to run to seed, but is being improved. There is new owner management as of last month, an Asian couple who are working very hard to improve the place. They were very pleasant and helpful and know they are fighting an uphill battle. All the mattresses have been replaced. The room we had was small, but had a table and two chairs, comfortable king bed, microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee pot. We found that a hairdrier was available on request. They are awaiting an ice machine, but ice was available from the office on request. It was simple but to put it in perspective, was more comfortable than some of the National Park accommodation, say Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley where simplicity is venerated. The motel was probably one of the first to be built on what is now the motel row of Monterey, is on a busy road and has no view or pool, but is good value for money and is only five minutes from Carmel or Pacific Grove. There is no lobby, just an office and a set of rooms around an adequate parking lot with an adjacent pizza parlour which was well patronized. We did not use the pizza parlour as we went for dinner at Pebble Beach Golf Club as planned beforehand. We found it to be quite adequate and a good base for simple overnight accommodation for two nights and used it as a springboard to visit Hearst Castle. Give it a try, the new owners need a break from the prior bad press. I am sure it will continue to improve.

There is no air conditioning except for the fan provided in the room and the electrical sockets are old and loose and need replacing. The bell in the office keeps activating and is irritating, but this is a very minor point. I do not know whether the wi-fi is working as I did not have my computer with me, and so didn't try it. The furniture is old and, like the carpet, will need replacing in due course. There was no alarm clock, but everyone carries cell phones with alarms anyway. There were no noisy guests the two nights we stayed, but on our first night there fireworks were being set of for a short time in the hotel across the busy street which alarmed us briefly!

We will never stay at Casa Verde Inn and will share our experience with everyone we know that is traveling to Carmel/Monterey area. It was one of the worst hotels we have stayed afteer traveling around the world and domestically. To name a of few areas; toilet handle broken, didn't provide new soap nor enough, didn't clean coffee pot nor have enough coffee, etc., didn't vaccum room each day, room remained dirty. I could go on ....

I have stayed there on/off for over 20 years. I like the location and the price. . This is ok for a quick in & out. Did not get recipe. Operator does not speak english very well but was very polite and nice. Very easy to get to.

. This motel is needs a lot of work (outside clean up) . The door locks are all bad. Ice machine does not work. Plants need water and attention. Internet connection is iffy. Need outside antenna

This place is a dive and the owner is a crook. When I told her I needed 2 beds instead of one she jacked my rate up from $89 to $110 a night, even though when I checked later on-line they are the same price. There is no A.C., so you have to open up the windows to cool down in the evening, and then you hear the partiers, screaming children, teenagers quarreling, etc, and the owner doesn't do a damn thing about it. There is also a lot of traffic noise and a bar nearby witgh loud music playing. We didn't get to sleep till after midnight. Totally not worth the money, do not stay here!

Had a new large screen TV.

The bath tub was old and the drain was moldy and dirty. I would not normally pay more than $40 a night for this type of motel room. Their price w/tax was $98.00. Way too much. No coffee pot or supplies in the room and none offered in the lobby and no type of breakfast available. Innkeepers could not speak English and were not helpfulj.

Place is flighty, stinky , unhygenic, poorly maintained, poorly staffed, high priced and crapy service.
