Relaxed and comfortable with nice extra touches. Very much a haven from its surrounds.
A little crowded at breakfast time though staff so good they compensated with some table service.
The location is incredible. Staff are awesome. The smaller room is pretty snug and the full size bed ain't that big so think about upgrading to a bigger room. Otherwise could not fault this hotel.
The staff, particularly the front desk staff who were incredibly helpful. We also liked the idea of having cakes in the afternoon and drinks and nibbles in the hotel before going out.
We loved the calm, quiet and Moroccan features of this amazing hotel. the staff are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. It is a real home from home. The complimentary breakfast, all day snacks and the wine and cheese buffet every evening is a great way to meet all the guests.
Room size and noisy fan/heater.
The central location, right in the middle of Times Square, the staff were excellent and couldn't have done enough to help or assist us - just simply the best hotel in New York.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The complimentary wine and cheese during the evening. The comfort of the room. The complimentary breakfast. The location. In fact we liked everything!!
Consistent professional presentation from bell staff to servers to cleaning staff. All exceeded all expectations. Superior warm and comfortable decor
Personal, courteous service Excellent location just off Times Square 24 hour complementary refreshments Complementary early evening cheese and wine Comfortable rooms Décor
Nothing! This hotel is perfect.
Staff Rick's Cafe 24/7 Free wifi
Noisy aircon Proximity to nearby restaurant(odours)
Staff friendly and genuine Location excellent Intimate feel Friendly atmosphere Rooms good but small Daily cheese and wine Knowledge of all staff
Room a bit small
Excellent location, comfortable rooms, good choice of complimentary breakfast, drinks and snacks all day and wine and cheese in the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved this hotel.
Street noise at night - bring your ear plugs. The feeble hair drier in an otherwise well equipped bathroom.
Ideal location, wonderful friendly staff who would bend over backwards to be helpful, afternoon snacks and tipples were a welcome bonus, overall ambience was so lovely. Would definitely return if I have occasion to visit NY again.
The closeness to everything, the 5-8pm happy hour and the decor of the hotel
Staff at the reception very helpful made it easy for us
Very limited area for breakfast, limited chairs and tables
STAFF VERY HELPFUL, WHOLE DECOR UNUSUAL AND CHARACTERFUL
AIR CON GOOD BUT A BIT NOISY
Fantastic staff - all of them, without exception - genuinely helpful, always friendly. We overworked Joseph and David on Reception booking all our tickets - they could not have done any more for us. Great location. 24 hour 'sitting-room' / cafe where you can always get a cup of tea and a snack and use the computer to print out your boarding pass, tickets, etc. Afternoon soiree to meet other travellers and chat. Best housekeeping ever - no, I mean it - ever! Gracias a todos los hablantes de espanol que trabajan siempre para nosotros.
Front of house is very noisy (as air-conditioning unit is located in the window) with traffic and road works. Thats the only single thing wrong.
The hotel was within walking distance of most of the more popular sights. The staff were extremely helpful and the complimentary cheese and wine each evening was a wonderful bonus. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We were pleased that our rooms were at the back of the hotel so we avoided street noise. The hotel is connected to Tony's restaurant next door where the food was amazing and revolves around large platters of food for sharing. The best meal that we ate during our entire stay in the USA.
The air conditioning unit was a little noisy and the hotel likes to put a 'hold' 150 dollars per room on your credit card for incidentals. With no bar or mini bar available there are limited opportunities to build up incidentals and we were informed that any excess would be returned to our credit card within 5 days. We had brought sufficient cash with us to pay for all such expenses so objected to this temporary charge. Despite this we would highly recommend the hotel.
Best location you could get for downtown NY. Great staff. Lovely comfortable lounge with 24 hour coffee and snacks. Spacious comfortable rooms. Classy feel - quality with personality
Having to use the noisy air con made it difficult to sleep well at times.
the whole package
The hotel staff is very friendly and allowed us to access our room a lot earlier than official book in time. In addition, we were invited to enjoy the continental breakfast that is served every morning in the hotel. The room was tidy and bigger than I expected. Wifi in the hotel was free and easily accessible. The breakfast area served coffee and bisquits the whole day, with complementary cheese and wine (and popcorn) after five. We were also allowed to use the area and enjoy the refreshments even after we have booked out of the hotel. This was really helpfull as we were tired and had to wait about half an hour before departing. The hotel is as close to Times Square as you can be without actually being in Times Square, as it is about a 10 metre (30 foot) walk from the front door of the hotel to Times Square. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.
Depending on taste, some people may find the hotel old fashioned. The style is Moroccan, but seems slightly dated. This did not trouble me as decor is not that critical an element for in a hotel. The lifts in the hotel are a bit rickety, but not really an issue. The hotel seems to be frequented by older couples looking to come for the shows, but my son still enjoyed the popcorn.
Staff were very professional and courteous and the location is very central. Breakfast was excellent and tea/ coffee was available all day in a very relaxing atmosphere. We noticed that management were visible on the floor throughout the day ensuring high standards of service in a quiet manner and the staff were always very professional. We would certainly return to the Casablanca because of the high standard of management, staff, cleanliness, facilities. We really enjoyed our stay.
The first night we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel on the 6th floor which was noisy due to the traffic and road works outside. It would not be a problem if staying one or two nights and just crashing into bed but as we were staying 6 nights, we asked for a move. This was not a problem and the 2nd room was excellent.
Whatever you asked of staff it was done immediately. The whole staff were exceptional in every way. We have travelled all over the world but the staff were second to none- from Reception, all the staff in Ricks and the housekeeping staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We loveNewYork but you absolutely made the holiday special . We can t wait to return!! Thank you Derek / Beti
