We loved talking with and listening to our host, who has so much knowledge about the local history. We loved the breakfasts, which were delicious, and the location, in the North Valley, and the house itself is a beautiful old adobe, perfect for a stay in New Mexico. The other guests had been here before, and were repeating their visits, partly just to come to this B&B. Altogether a wonderful place for a relaxed visit.
The only glitch was that the internet didn't work, but that has happened in various hotels where I have stayed as well, and it was not really a problem for us. Everything else was great, and we will come again.
I the history affiliated with the property. I the indoor swimming pool is great. The neighborhood is so quite. The host is full of entertaining stories. Breakfast was made from scratch with all fresh ingredients. Rooms are big and clean with a lot of character. Kiva fire place in all rooms.
the room we stayed in did not have the bathroom inside.
Arnold makes a great breakfast. The staff was very accommodating. They got up early to make up breakfast before our departure. The grounds are beautiful.
There are 4 cats living at the house. The amenities are dated.
The atmosphere was very nice, and welcoming. The archeological aspect was great. The room was very large and clean. It has a pool, spa tub, and a sauna.
We did not like that the bath room was in the hallway, and was not advertised that way. Upon entering the dining room, a cat was on the table that we would be eating at the next morning, and there was no motion to remove it. The T.V. was about a size 12". This was much too small for a bedroom of this size or any size. The next morning we came down to eat and the cat was back on the table, my husband took it off , to which it quickly went to the counter that the food was being prepared. Our room had a throw rug in it, which we discovered the cats were using for a kitty litter and stunk from cat pee. The owner did take off $30 for this, but it did not make up for the stay. It would not be a place we would recommend.
Beautiful people, beautiful place, beautiful history......it would be a sad day for society if the likes of Arnold were replaced by the "vanilla" people of the world. What a great story teller! What a story to tell!
The owner, pool, history, peace.
Arnold welcomed us warmly even though he didn't have our reservation on his hand-written books. Fortunately, the room we had reserved through Booking.com was available. Arnold gave us an in-depth history lesson on the house and the archaeological digs his deceased wife had been able to accomplish before they built their pool. It's clear that Arnold is very proud of his home and the history behind it. We stayed in the artist's studio room and found it to be spacious, well-lit and comfortable. It was also located near the indoor swimming pool and hot tub. They were both at 90 degrees and ozinated rather than chlorinated. I had mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, so the next morning Arnold presented us with a stack of his blue corn pancakes topped with candles and accompanied with song. It was truly memorable. The WiFi signal was strong. They had just had the system worked on because the thick adobe walls cause problems with reception. Once signed in, we had no trouble. If you are looking for a place filled with history and quirky charm, and not a sterile hotel room, this is the place for you. Arnold will make you feel at home.
Arnold and his son need to improve their communication about reservations. We could have had a situation that didn't turn our so well.
Authentic, historical abobe home Great pancakes prepared by the owner Lovely walking trails with chance to see Hot Air Balloons, horses, llamas, road runners, humming birds, peacocks...
We could only stay one night... needed more time
The house and the owner have some wonderful history. The owner Arnold is one of our new most favorite people. Totally worth it if you are looking for an experience enriched by good company and wonderful conversation. It was very quite and peaceful. Quirky place, but totally worth it. The Breakfast was amazing. A lot of love and attention to detail went into the food.
There could be some improvements made to the property and "first impression" esthetics. But again totally worth the experience, we truly enjoyed our stay.
Arnold was a joy and took great care of us!
This was a unique and amazing place. It was as if you were staying with family. Beautiful place, beautiful people. LOVED everything about it. This was our first bed and breakfast. Will go back to this place if we get in the area again. A MUST to visit.
Mr Arnold is a great host
Great place, friendly atmosphere, good food.
The owner was very nice. Good wi-fi. Good tv. It was very quiet.
Our room was filthy. The housekeeper did not show up to clean our room so we were put in a room that had not been used for a while. It was real dirty and had no toiletries. The patio had not been cleaned all winter, so we could not go outside. We were very disappointed. We did not stay for our second night. If it had been clean it would have been very nice.
Arnold is a wonderful host who makes a superb breakfast. The age and history of the building and its archeological dig made our visit fascinating. The casita is filled with interesting artworks, fixtures and furnishings. Wish we could have stayed 2 or 3 nights instead of just one. And there was so much to explore in the area!
This quaint little bed and breakfast was the most wonderful place we stayed on our recent tour through the great southwest. We stayed in the guest house and it was very private and safe. The staff is outstanding and they have a beautiful pool as well. Try it. You will love it.
Everything was exceptional for our taste.
Arnold makes the most amazing pancakes I have ever tried, and he is the most adorable host
Arnold makes a great breakfast! His hospitality was awesome and tried to make sure we were comfortable. There is a tremendous amount of historical facts about the residence! Indoor pool was a pleasant surprise! Love the old warmth and charm of this New Mexico style residence.
Just needs to be a little cleaner. Just a word of caution, if you are allergic to cats, there are some on the property.
very comfortable, wonderful breakfasts, fascinating hosts: worth taking the time to absorb some of the stories on the background of the house and its surroundings
The host is a fascinating man. The property is on an important archaeological site. The house is a rambling place full of surprises and the breakfast is wonderful. Great night sleep.
