the fact the restaurant and bar were closed at 4pm on sun ,we did not know that?nothing was open so it made for a long night.
We liked the uniqueness of the place.
love the location, the restaurant, gift shop, and coffee bar.
Window a/c unit was not working properly. Bathroom was incredibly small. Poor lighting in room makes it impossible to read and apply makeup. No separate switch to turn the light off and leave the ceiling fan on.
No breakfast on property
Location, atmosphere, friendliness
Lack of food ! No breakfast facilities. No food after 4pm on a Sunday. If I had known I would have gone prepared.
The waitress Becca was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was great. The location was key and it was like being back in time.
The shower didn't work properly because the hotel property was built in 1928. The shower should be replaced.
I loved the ambiance of the hotel. I was immediately transported back to a simpler time with less hustle bustle and more importantly, less electronics. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Sinatra's (the only restaurant in town) is great. The food and drinks were just fine (2 for 1 drinks at happy hour) and we had a blast with Michael T. Moore, the piano player! I'm sure we'll go back for more. I even had a reading by Jackie and truly enjoyed the experience.
The shower and bathroom were so tiny, I could not close the door to sit down. I had to turn sideways on the commode to be comfortable. I am only 5'4" and 150 pounds. The shower head was so tall that I could not avoid getting my hair wet. But I'd put up with this. It's an old hotel.
I love Cassadaga as a place. Such a peculiar and interesting town. I can't wait to go back.
Bathroom facilities cold showers con artists paradise for want to be spiritual psychics
From the start, it was exactly what I hoped for. Warm, calming, and comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent 4-5 star quality. The staff from the gift shop, restaurant, bar, cleaning, front desk, etc., was great. I can't wait for my next visit.
The hotel is trying to stay authentic to time and theme. Comfortable bed and inviting porch swing. If guests understand it's off the beaten path and is more of retreat and place to reflect they should not be disappointed
I was disappointed cafe not open the days of my stay. Although very intimate setting hotel staff lacked a certain "inviting" genuine interest in guests. Needs more personal touch.
Very nice stay and we had some interesting events. The onsite bar has a great karaoke show and the pricing was reasonable. We stayed on the first floor in room 3 and loved the outdoor porch for sitting and chatting with the people in the next room during the evening hours. We will stay there again!
Seance and hotel restaurant
Owner was extremely unfriendly. Roach in bathroom
Friendly staff. Period environment in lobby and common areas (1920s hotel, minimally updated). A step (or two) back in time.
Rooms very small and dark "Bathroom" was so small I could barely get in and sit or stand up once I got "sat". Sink in bedroom and no vanity area to put anything. Just a small 8 x 18" glass shelf below small mirror. Not very comfortable. Had to sit on bed, because no room for a chair.
The people and the town were amazing. A very serene place. My son and daughter in law and I did not want to leave. The food at the Hotel was delicious. The Arthur Burger is a must try...you won't be disappointed. Will definitely be back.
There was no place to get breakfast, but they did say they were in the process of setting up a continental breakfast at the Hotel sometime in the future. The hotel was a little pricey
The staff were so helpful and kind.
Needed a set of hooks in the room to easily hang jackets, etc.
Atmosphere and decor
Had to wait over 20 minutes to get hot water and the bathroom in the queen room extremely small. Totally understand that it's an old building but it was what it was. Would have appreciated a continental breakfast since there are no breakfast places in the camp. Still recommend staying at this historic building!! :)
