This location with a friendly and happy staff and fair minded management could be a good place to stay. not for me again!
The hotel doesn't play fair when it comes to exchange rate. The staff was "sad" and unwilling to engage in conversation even at the times when no one was in the lobby..
The location is brilliant, and the view of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach is completely unobstructed by other hotels. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, spacious and kept very clean. The pool and bar also have a great view, and neither are too overcrowded. I had friends staying at a nearby hotel, and Queen Kapiolani had better rooms, and was better value for money.
The windows are louvred, so the room can be a bit louder than other hotels, but this is not a deal breaker.
There really wasn't much to like. Front desk lady was rude, there is no privacy in the room we were at. We had ac that was plugged in on the floor. The place was dusty and the bed had a box of used condoms under it. The room we were in was in the corner on the lower levels so we could look out our windows and see our neighbors. I felt uncomfortable and the valet staff were very unprofessional. They were playing and joking around and me and my boyfriend had to stand there for a good minute until they slowly started to look up at us like we had interrupted their fun and then finally one of them decided who would help us. I would definitely not come here again. However, we only paid $147 for the room, so I guess the price of the room really matched up to the value.
Staff were super friendly right from our arrival. Upgraded our room for free to a Diamond Head view. The view really was superb and the location, at the far end of Waikiki was really great as it wasn't in the main, noisy, tourist section of Waikiki but still within easy walking distance of everything.
The staff were lovely, the location was very convenient. Huge balcony (get a room with a view and balcony!) and great views. Internet was free and worked well, and for a quick stay this place is fine. Our room was more like an apartment: included a kitchen area, living room, 2 bathrooms, etc.
It would be unfair to say this is a "nice" hotel; the furniture is mega old and the rooms have a very 70's feel to them. Though, I should say they were very clean! This was only for a 1-night stay so it was fine, but I don't think I would have wanted to stay for anything longer than 1-2 nights.
The only good thing was the view. Our room faced diamond head as well as a view of the ocean
We had a room for 2 adults and 2 children and the lady at the front desk looked at me with 2 heads when I asked for a king sized bed. They gave us a room with 2 double beds. The rooms were tiny. Basic bathroom. Old building. It was clean but certainly not comfortable
I received EXCELLENT service from HYO JEONG. she is a credit to your hotel. She was always so pleasant and very professional in all my dealings with her.
At first we were given a room with a VERY noisy air conditioner and thank goodness I eventually spoke to Hyo, who was kind enough to accommodate us in another room. The rooms were not cleaned properly every day. The carpets need to be cleaned more regularly.
We were given a room upgrade at check in. Our room had two walls of windows with views of the ocean. Nice friendly staff
peace and quiet
They upgraded us to a suite which was very nice.
The view of Diamond Head and the ocean from our corner room was breathtaking. Having a balcony made it even more spectacular. The staff especially, Jocelyn made our stay especially memorable.
Not one bad experience.
Excellent location, wonderful pool, nice service.
After traveling from the east coast and arriving around midnight I was told that I did not have a room and that I was being sent to another hotel. This hotel had already deducted payment from my credit card and was sending me elsewhere for my stay. For numerous reasons I was not pleased. I had selected this hotel for location, safety factors (female traveling alone), easy access and more.
Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable, good value for money. Was slightly noisy outside but that couldn't be helped due to the location. Being on a higher floor definitely helped. Super close to the beach, zoo and diamond head. walkable distance to the main shops.
Night staff Dustin was really helpful in sorting out our problems
Arrived at 3am to find they had messed up our booking and no rooms available ( it was put right very fast by Dustin) some work needed in rooms (loose electrical plugs on wall, curtains that didn't fit the windows so unable to darken room.)
Close to the beach. The valet was very helpful and very friendly.
I did not like the view.
Large, clean, well-equipped room. Just a couple of minutes to the beaches and sunset viewing.
Airco noisy; quite some street noise also at night (I was on Mezzanine Floor).
The bed and bedding was VERY cozy and comfortable, the hotel is 1 block from beach, right across the street from the zoo, 1/2 block from Teddys Bigger Burgers, best burger and fries ever!
We were on the 3rd floor near the elevators, where it is not carpeted, and the wheels rolling across uneven slabs of rock flooring by staff and guests was very loud starting at 6:30 am!!
Very reasonable price, decent location and accommodations.
The monkeys at the zoo across the street were SUPER annoying, and woke us up. Also kind of hilarious.
Love this hotel. Great place, great staff, and great location.
Left-hand curtain was stuck so could've open. Also curtains were dirty with spots on them. Ugh. Hotel not wired for multiple devices.
It was all very nice
Good location. Nice pool /bar
The breakfast staff were rude, unhelpful and loud
Just across from the park and shore, with comfortable bed and all the usual facilities.
Restaurant was limited and rather costly, better to go out. The hotel was very expensive by any standard other than Honolulu's.
Room was comfortable and clean in a good spot. Staff were lovely and friendly.
Smoke alarm went off in our room at 2am due to winds, some maintenance is needed due to age but otherwise good value for the price.
