Great location and breakfast and nice ambience. We are not fans of in house entertainment but those events added to the atmosphere on the beach in the evenings. Also loved the table heaters in the evening!
The room was well equipped, possibly a little dated but was very comfortable for our 3 night stay. We did not realise until the last day that most of the evening nightlife and restaurants were quite a way up towards the pier on the Pacific ocean side so struggled to find decent restaurants nearby.
- location - gym - pool - friendlyness of the staff
- price is to high - several additional surcharges and taxes - old furniture (in the tower at least) - primitive air condition
Location Pool Staff On site entertainment (Boat ride, cinema, dancing etc)
the location was great! the bay and ocean were so close! the landscape was beautiful as well!
just some things about the hotel room itself were disappointing for the amount of money I spent- the AC didn't get very cold at all, and there was no screen door to keep the balcony door open to get the breeze because bugs would come in. There was no vent in the bathroom. The first towel I grabbed to use, I unfolded it and long black hairs were in it (I'm a blonde), and the blankets/pillow cases had matted hairs and lint on them! so gross!
We used free guest wifi and it was so slow and often cut you off! There was a high speed one but itcharged to tgthe room, I think this should be included as standard.
Location was great, food was great. Hotel was clean and plenty of parking. Also beach rentals nearby.
Beds were not comfortable. We couldn't make the room completly dark due to the curtains. Couldn't see tv well from bed and internet connection was bad.
The Catamaran had everything you would like at a resort. The bay on the back side of the resort and the pacific ocean on the front side. You could rent any number of things from sail boats to bicycles to surf boards and more. There were plenty of restaurants available all around the resort. The resort also had events every night such as a Luau with polynesian performers, a BBQ event, wine and beer tasting and movie nights for the kids.
Our families rooms were upgraded and while my sons and grandchildrens room was good my room had a few problems. The sliding glass doors out to the patio were a bit rusted and did not slide correctly. The sliding doors on the closet, the same thing. Aside from that the rooms were great.
Position, right on Mission Bay with lot of water sports and activities. Very nice tropical garden with parrots and other animals. Friendly staff
Rooms a bit too old Not enough umbrellas and chairs at the beach
Location Short walk to super beachside with shops, bars and restaurant Situated on the beach in a bay Nice breakfast buffet Free sunchairs and towels Many activities on the beach (paddleboard was great)
Could have more sunchairs on the beach, people seemed to get up very early to grab them.
Location to Mission beach. Help was sent when we needed help with our safe, extra towels and flooded bathroom. Very helpful older man at the rental shop helped us get a life jacket for my young daughter. The Bahia Belle. Fireworks close by. Friendly staff. The resort was very clean.
The doors slammed. Our bathroom toilet overflowed and flooded our bathroom floor. Our cable went out for a while. The coffee in the am outside by the dock was not good at all! You should buy Starbucks or the nearby coffee at the coffee shops and brew that. The rental shop close the hotel was super expensive and the shops located on Mission Blvd were much cheaper. Rooms need updated. Sat down to have a drink outside at the Moray-I think it was called that, Nobody came for 15 minutes to take our order so we left.
The car alarm going off early morning and all day until the battery went out.
We loved your resort overall. Your staff was wonderful, it was very clean, the location perfect! There is lots for both adults and children to do. The daily events were so much fun! From the movie on the beach, nightly Hawain entertainment and special events. Overall a super vacation, we'll be back : )
On the downside, the buffet breakfast wasn't great. We went out for breakfast every day. The food itself was only okay and there weren't many options. My kids would have loved pancakes, french toast or waffles. I would have paid a bit more for more variety and better tasting food. We stayed in the tower, and while our room was clean, it felt a little dated and old. Bathroom tile was old and our shower leaked. Movie rentals would have been a great way to end our evening but was not an option. This I found odd since you offer wifi which would facilitate movie downloads. If you had Smart TV's we could have logged into our Netflix or iTunes Account and that would have sufficed as well.
Nice lush gardens. Great location right next to Mission Bay beach.
Quite expensive. Building and rooms a bit outdated.
The beds are too small! Need to upgrade to queens or kings in your rooms!
How close it its to the beach - we parked the car day 1 and got back in it when we headed home - although paying $17 a day was a shock.
The room we booked was not the room we got. We checked in early but still got our room in the late afternoon. Air conditioner did not really cool the room and the bathroom fan did not work.
We had a great stay here on our honeymoon. Love the location, particularly having breakfast on Mission bay each morning.
Location was perfect!
The service was excellent, and the staff is very accommodating. The rooms were large and having a kitchenette was very convenient, especially with children. There are several stores near the hotel to shop for grocery items.
The hotel needs to be updated. There is a 'dated' feel to the property, especially the kitchenette and the bathroom.
Nice private beach, but don't expect you can swim in the ocean - water is always pretty much cold in California. Not a fault of the hotel, of cause, but private beach was one of the main reasons why we have selected this hotel over some others which have not such nice beach but more pools. But you still can rent a boat, surf or catamaran and enjoy the water.
Stuff is more relaxed than guests: extremely slow an sometimes unfriendly. With few exceptions, of cause. Rooms are old and uncomfortable. WiFi is very slow. This hotel is totally not worth the money they are asking for.
everything but restaurant
Restaurant was too backed up on Saturday evening - we were told we could stay but it would be a wait of 40 minutes plus... not good in a resort like that - you need to plan when you have several groups or weddings in... soured it for us... hotel accommodated us with paying for outside meal but not a good thing
Location, staff was very helpful, quality of resort, amenities offered!
Location - choice of bay beach (calm) or ocean beach (waves). Boardwalk-type walkways for walking, biking, running, etc. Bike rentals convenient. Segway rentals convenient. Watersports available. Hotel restaurant is good. Other restaurants nearby, along with grocery store & CVS. Very friendly staff. Birds were fun. Enjoyed seeing all the ducks walking around. Grounds very well kept. Spa is wonderful. We would consider returning for a place to just rest and relax.
Not much. Bathroom floor in our room had some scratches. Large returnable deposit required for bikes & especially segway, so that could be an issue if you're not staying at the hotel or don't want to use a credit card.
Awesome located hotel if you love the beach
Location was great. In easy walking distance to Pacific beach if one desires a little more activity than the quieter side of the peninsula,Sail Bay. Grounds where nice and walking pathways along Sail Bay made the stay enjoyable
One side of the sliding closet door did not function. Need more outlets for computer type uses. Free wifi was slow and dropped intermittently. Purchase of the "Premium Wifi Service" was no better.
