Nice area. In the woods
You had to pay for cofee on second day. They only offered you one cup of coffee, then you had to pay. Continetal breakfast was cheap. They should get local pastries rather than prepackedged foods
Good location, with a very friendly and helpful family running it. Good bar with live music and home cooked food. Has character.
For the price the accommodation was in quite shabby order (the 2 bed cottage).
Restaurant was fun and food was quite good. Amazing jazz band. Fresh air from the sliding glass door in rooms, electric fireplace, peace and quiet. Large bathroom. Owners were very nice.
No coffee in room except on first day. Dirty coffee cups were not cleaned. Asked for another KCup and we were charged. No one was at front desk on Sunday morning, so no coffee out for guests. Musty smelling and very scratch sheets.
I liked that it was located on a river. Not there fault there is no water in the river. Although the pool was closed it looked very clean. Restaurant food was good and bartender very nice.
We rented a cabin. Not what we saw on line. Cabin ceiling paint was peeling and sagging. Went to use coffee maker and cups. Coffee maker had spiders and webs in it and cups were grossly dirty. Only one burner on the 2 burner stove had a cover to use. Very rusty and dirty. Fridge was full of mold. It was as if no one been in there for a long time.
The Cottage was stand alone and was clean and comfortable The Office staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily .
Gravel Roads are challenging on a Motorcycle
Friendly person at check-in and always.
Musty smell. Horrible furry blanket between coverlet. Smelled terrible.
Location, homey feel and pleasant staff.
A little dated.
nice restaurant, clean room, very helpful employees
The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, and very accommodating. The location of the hotel is in close proximity to Hunter Mountain, where my friends and I were attending a concert. It took about 10 minutes to get to and from the area. The hotel was quiet and reasonably comfortable. Other reviews of this hotel describe a somewhat run-down, outdated place that wasn't 100% clean. I would say that's accurate; this is not a pristine, chain hotel, and if you're looking for a five star spa experience, you wouldn't book here. However, the price was fair, the beds were clean and pretty comfortable, the air conditioner worked, the TV worked, the upstairs deck was lovely, and the shower had adequate pressure. I would stay there again in the future.
The only real complaints we had were the discovery of some ants in the room and not having enough toilet paper even after the room was cleaned. The ants, I think, are mostly a matter of the location of the hotel. The rooms could be more thoroughly cleaned and deodorized.
Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable bed Quiet surroundings
no wifi in room room poorly illuminated, lacking charm, and in disrepair. lack of freezer compartment in refrig in room
The mountain river running past the property was wonderful and being able to stroll along that was great with no other buildings in sight. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The home cooked food was delicious.
Unfortunately breakfast was not available as we realized that this is really a ski area so we were out of season. The front desk was only manned 9-5 and even though we rang a number as per the notice did not get an answer. A difficult area for wifi which we could only get in the main reception area or the pub.
Geographic location was beautiful and in close proxmity to the mountains.
Room and floor was dirty, with bugs on the floor and in the bathroom. Room had a musty smell. Furniture had rips and tears. Staff were made aware of issues including the fact that the remote was not working and did not respond to address the issue. The room was cold and there was no way to adjust the heat. I was charged at check in for both days, and stayed only one day due to the conditions of the property and therefore lost $175.00.
Very charming family running the place. They know the area well. Restaurant food is excellent and bar is always full. They play jazz on weekends and the musicians are locals and very good.
Can't think of anything really.
Privacy of our own cabin
Poor snow removal
Wifi was not working and hot water was tepid plus no coffee
