The bar server (young woman, around 5-foot 1 Or 2 with auburn hair, great smile, and ponytail) was very gracious and helpful in menu and wine selection. Bartender and other servers were also very helpful.
We liked the layout of the property and the historical significance. We also liked having the option of a suite in order to have a little more room. We were offered a nice glass of wine upon arrival and informed there was cheese and crackers in the fridge. A nice touch.
The coffee area was not lit at all so it was hard to see to make coffee in the morning. Our room was not cleaned during the day. When we returned we had to call for maid service. At check-out when we were running late to catch a plane our request for our car was significantly delayed.
Staff was very accomodating and very pleasant.
There was a ton of flies - could not have breakfast in the restaurant without having them land on your food The facility was great but I did not like the location of my room. I had no view :(.
The balcony, the view, the staff was so friendly and impeccable service, the grounds, the meditation pool and spa amenities, the restaurant. The entire stay was fabulous!
Hairdryer had very little power :(
Location is wonderful. Lodge area has a great feel to it. Restaurant and bar were very nice if you want to eat indoors or out-two options, both very nice. Food is wonderful and the view from the lodge is amazing.
Went for a girls weekend to spend most of our time in the spa. Most disappointed with the spa. On a scale from 0-10, I would rate it a 5-6. Perhaps it was a very busy day. For the price-accomodations were ok-we stayed in the historic area. Check in was a bit slow as system was down for 3 hours so had to wait, but hotel did comp drinks for anyone who asked. ( but you had to ask)
Staff was very cordial and helpful.
They did not have our reservation. Rooms are very average. Could not even see water. Inconvenient in getting around there. Overpriced!
The location and facilities were wonderful. The beds were comfortable and the biggest bathroom ever! The staff was friendly.
The communication between departments was lacking. We had to wait until after normal check in time(4:00) for our room to be ready. Wifi was so slow and sometimes didn't work. Expensive prices on bar/restaurant.
Outstanding property. Great views of San Francisco and surrounding area. Very comfortable enviorment.
Good location, food, rooms
No airconditioning - it was 95 and too darn hot in the rooms. Staff kept closing the windows which meant that the room was boiling. No usable wifi - truly apalling - non existent in the room, barely functional in public areas. Service invariably slow - not due to the staff they just looked overworked especially in the evenings.
The atmosphere, the ambience, the setting. Far exceeded all expectation.
Location was amazing but this is the primary reason this hotel can charge its rates.
Staff is nice, but many of them seemed inexperienced and young, which was cause for an experience not on par with what is expected at a hotel of this supposed caliber. A little staff training and this place would be tremendous.
Location, design, cleanliness and atmosphere. Excellent chief concierge.
Minimal facilities onsite for teenagers, pool only for 18+.
Excellent and quiet location with good shuttle services
Valet parking is too tip-orientated and needless,It's not children or family friendly hotel ( there is no available pool for the kids for example )
The grounds, the views, the service, quality items in room, free wi-fi, spacious, comfortable rooms, foghorns, uniqueness
uncomfortable bed, unconventional coffee maker in room (only for expresso)
Employee friendliness, the good food, relaxed and quiet atmosphere and the best view of San Francisco you could wish for!
Excellent location for San Francisco, Muir Woods and Napa. Free morning coffee and croissant.
Really exceptional place to stay. Great mellow vibe and fantastic. location. Nice hike to middle of GG bridge. Definitely will go back.
Breakfast took to long to serve and was cold
The staff across the board was wonderful!
Wifi tended to be sporadic
This was our second stay and each time makes us want to return. Their location, food and amenities are exemplary!
A unique location and a hotel to match.
The resort and park fees are very high and not being made transparent enough. Still, this place is a wonderful treat.
Views of Sf and ability to hike from room to under Golden Gate Bridge up to the Marin Headlands Coastal Trail. Felt a bit like upscale camping.
Need to go back over GG bridge on car to get to restaurants and SF attractions
The property is stunning! . Views of S.F. and the Golden Gate Bridge are breath takingI I walked for miles around Fort Baker and Cavallo Point, swam in the 100 degree salt water meditation pool, received an excellent massage, had some terrific wine and cheese and was served by a competent and professional staff! This is an extraordinary hotel!
I felt the menus where a little flat...not as extraordinary as I had hoped.
View of the Golden Gate Breakfasts on the Veranda Room Decor
Extra charges and variable room rate
location, the people and staff... the food in Farley Bar
