Score from 712 reviews Very good
Very nice hotel in the Downtown Los Angeles. Near two metro stations, buses, shops, cafes and restaurants. Very comfortable. Good service. Lovely staff. On the next street in the cafe does great pizza! :)
The room and private baths. The shared facilities. Rennovations in rooms and the whole hotel. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast is good. Best value per price.
The neighborhood. The homeless.
Excellent value for money. Good wifi connection.
Fire engine noise throughout the day is bothering.
This is a hostel not a hotel
it is in a good location.
the locks of the doors are not so secure.
Clean basic room, well located for train and bus.
Noise - I think from doors slamming all night - closers on shared bathrooms may reduce this, and also the traffic going past when we opened the windows
No Hot water kettle to make a cup of tea/coffee. Breakfast was too late. We had to check out early for our Tour pickup.
The courtesy & helpfulness of the staff. The breakfast was great The security in the building The facilities in the hotel
>The hot water was a pain. We did not have hot water in the wash basin The heater was not working most of the time
The room service is ok, but u need to tell her to change even the towel. Do we really need to tell her everyday?
Your everyday breakfast...about the door lock can't open easily, my fingers get numb when opening that door. Terrible!!!
Location nearish Amtrak station. Free wifi. Price. Waffle breakfast was fine.
Wifi only in lobby. It is like an old hostel with toilets and showered off the corridors. Our room was small but did have small wet room in the corner?
worst location, there's nothing interesting around. Room very dirty
Good breakfast , loved the waffles , friendly staff
Only one elevator so long waiting times , bad toilet, bad shower and a small little dirty room , tv didn't worked , light in the room is not that bright and the room is very loud
Ping Pong! Oh, and I guess all the things I would expect from a hotel at a very good price, that's me personally though.
I didn't mind but all the locals I met described it as the worst area to stay in. You're fine unless you have a phobia of the homeless though.
Nothing!!! Worst place and worst staff esp the receptionist...we are from canada amd we are very disappointed of their treatment
My husband and I hate Cecil Hotel...the moment we arrived,no one asked if we need a trolley esp we came from the airport and had lots of luggages and carry on baggage...the receptionist never smiled..she was not hospitable...the room was disgusting...thats why we decided to cancel our stay on the same day and looked for other hotel..wat an inconvenience!!!
Breakfast and location
It has activity 24/7.
It's a really old building, and the location was pretty dangerous for 2 young women, so we couldn't go out at night.
Very close to where I get off the lion bus. On the Main Street, thus easy to find.
Poor room with some smells. The heater is not working at the moment, but they provide extra blanket. Very simple breakfast with only waffel.
The front lobby
The location - downtown is a very poor n disorganised area The facilities - rooms are old n in bad shape, esp the bathroom! Very poor sound proof, we could hear ppl next door constantly, including when they had sex -discusting!! There werent enough furnitures to put ur things. There is no Wifi in the rooms only in the lobby n another floor.
İt is in downtown, so it is easy to get to use public transportation PCs at the loby
Small room, uncomfortable shared bathroom, Wifi at only shared places
Outside -Waw!!!!Inside- so-so:))I ve got Wi-Fi it s wonderfull!
Everything is good!
Guest services staff girls was excellent
sirynge in the toilet. no one care of us. no apologies..worst experience ever.
Staff we're very friendly, only a 10 minute walk to the red line metro. Best waffles we have had in a hotel :)
No internet in rooms and lobby Internet was awful, room old fashioned but was all we needed. Laundry facilities good.
I liked how close Cecil Hotel was to Fashion District, Staples Center and Union Station.
The staff at the front desk were not very friendly/talkative and I could hardly hear them whenever I asked them questions. The staff members I did like were the two guys who opened up the cafe so I could store my suitcase in there, they were nice. The sink in my room was uneven, so when I went to put stuff on it it would slide off and fall on the floor. I couldn't access the power outlets on the floor because my bed was right up against it and the only other power outlets were in the bathroom - it just wasn't really easy to work with.
Rubbish Internet access; Rooms seem like not ended up; Dirty rooms; and the main thing they have very small control over the packages they receive on your behalf TAKE CARE. They lost one from Amazon, delivered by UPS.
