Part of our reason for booking this place was that it offered free shuttle service to and from Foxwoods Casino. We had to schedule a specific time for our shuttle pickup, and when we asked if there's a number we can call just in case we're running five minutes late, we were told that they can't promise the shuttle would wait for us. That was fine, I guess, except that the shuttle showed up half an hour late to take us there, making us miss our reservations, and left us waiting for two hours until we finally gave up at 4 in the morning and payed for a cab back. They didn't offer to compensate us for having to pay for a cab, nor would they even apologize for being late! Instead, the guy snottily replied that they didn't HAVE to provide a free shuttle service. Also, that free breakfast they advertise? First of all, it's just in the check-in office with no place to sit and eat, and all they had when I got there at 10:30 was a waffle-maker and orange juice. I couldn't even get coffee. When we asked the guy at the front desk if he can recommend a place to get breakfast nearby, he sent us to a pizza place. I kid you not--a pizza place. For breakfast. Oh, and there was some kind of reddish-brown liquid in my bathtub that made it pretty damn obvious it wasn't cleaned. I didn't even feel comfortable showering there. Luckily, I was only staying for one night. Can you believe they had the nerve to leave an envelope asking for tips for the housekeeper?! I'm wondering if they even HAVE a housekeeper.
Our friend was celebrating her birthday at Foxwoods so we just needed a cheap place to crash; For that, Cedar Park Inn was just fine. There were large groups of young guys having BBQs there during the day and bonfires at night, which looked like a cute way to take advantage of that kind of facility. It's more of a redneck retreat than a hotel, which isn't a bad thing, it's just not what we expected.
