눇The room was fairly large for big city standards. Both the room and bathroom were both very well stocked with luxury amenities, and the rain showerhead was to die for. The interior design was very modern, yet extremely comfortable and welcoming.
The food was excellent downstairs at Ma Peche. The DVD collection on offer at the front desk was well curated, and a nice touch for guests wanting a relaxing night in. The location (56th St and 5th Ave) really can't be beat; 2 blocks from Central Park, spitting distance to the best shopping shopping in the world, a 5-10 minute walk to Broadway, and also very walkable to Times Square.
Where this hotel really shines is the service. 100% of the staff was extremely courteous and absolutely on top of their game. But I want to give extra props to Ty, the doorman/concierge, who is far and away the most thoughtful, attentive, interesting, and masterful hospitality professional I have ever come across in many years of luxury travel. I would never have expected to find someone like Ty at a hotel in this price range (<$500/nt). He is truly the soul of this hotel, and took the entire Chambers experience for us to 11 on the dial. From providing highly individualized entertainment and dining recommendations/reservations, knowing every single guest by name, providing a warm welcome and fond farewell at the door every day, managing transportation for guests, and providing information on everything you could ever want to know about New York, calling to follow up on even the smallest details of guests' requests, and arranging custom in-room experiences, Ty exemplifies the superb service that Chambers is known for. He gets to know each guest personally, and shares insights into the NYC social scene and lifestyle that would be difficult to find anywhere other than from a true New Yorker, plus he knows everybody in town at every venue you want to experience while in NYC.
