Chancellor Hotel on Union Square    

This hotel offers everything and more. We chose it based on value for money and it exceeded expectations. The location was superb, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. There were extras such as 24/7 tea and coffee in foyer, fruit and in the evenings popcorn. Although the rooms were small they were immaculate and the bed and choice of cushions were super comfy. Would not stay anywhere else in San Francisco

Really appreciated being given a quiet room as requested. The coffee and tea in the foyer were also very welcome. The room was well appointed, although small.

It was all good, although the prices in San Fran are a bit steep.

loved the hotel and its proximity to everything we needed. Enjoyed the Napa Valley wine tour, Alcatraz, and the city tour.

The location of the Chancellor Hotel on Powell Street is convenient to Bart, bus lines, and trollies. It is centrally located and easy to get to all attractions quickly and easily. The restaurants in the area were excellent and suggestions given by the hotel were greatly appreciated. Though the rooms and bathrooms are small, they are clean and quite nice for those who are on a budget.

Bathrooms were small and rooms facing Powell were quite noisy. Noise wasn't a problem for us, but we are sound sleepers.

The Chancellor hotel is in a great location and youre seconds from good food and shopping. Theres tram stops right outside and the noise from being in the middle of the city doesnt resonate up to the rooms. They offer complimentary wifi and gym access to a nice gym around the corner. The parking garage is quite far but its not so bad. The hotel is a bit dated but it was quite comfortable and I would stay here again.

There is not much to complain about this hotel. Its comfortable, quiet, well priced, great location and friendly staff.

Great location, just off Union Square. High concentration of great restaurants & shopping. Nearby Tix booth for discount theatre plays. Helpful staff. Nice touch with cookies, apples and water in the lobby.

Rooms small and overfurnished. Difficult finding room for two open standard suitcases. In general need ot total refurbishing. Breakfast, not recommended.

The management has thought of many ways to make your stay comfortable. The room, though not large, has all the features that a business traveller needs. Having the trolley run up the street in front of the window can add a little noise, but gives you a flavor of where you are. There is no end to the places to shop and eat without even walking a block. An open square half a block away had an art fair when I stayed there. There is a "pillow menu" from which you can borrow a variety of different pillows. I like a bit of character to a hotel room - the white paint peeling off the green tiles in the bathroom gave me a homey feel, like I was at Grandma's, but a traveller looking for a sleek modern look would find this, and the towel bar pulling away from the wall, to be a downside.

The room was somewhat noisy until about 10pm. Had it been summer and I had needed to open the window (no AC) it would have been too noisy to get good sleep. All this noise is from the street, though. I heard less than the expected noise from the rooms surrounding me.

Very good service. While the room was not very large, the walk in closet was huge. So, we had plenty of space for our various suitcases.

Bed was a bit too firm for my liking.

The beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the coffee every morning. The location in SFO is perfect. The parking set-up was very easy and convenient. The restaurant and bar were nice. I liked the cookies and apples.

The staff were very accomodating.I Got there at noon and they still offered a room and at check out they offered to hold our bags. The pillow selection- that was pretty sweet too! Our room on was the second floor on the back side of the hotel. Other guests asked about the noise level so we were happy with our room.

The walls might be too thin. I slept through the night, but my boyfriend was up mos of the night. Maybe a pair of ear plugs would have helped him, or he should've taken advantage of the pillow menu ;) We stay up in sf often, and agreed this is one of the best places we've ever stayed at reardless.

What I like most about this hotel is the room, the location of the hotel, and its reasonable room rate.

Wifi was weak, slow connection

Loved the location, perfectly positioned for all amenities. Staff very helpful particularly when booking tours.

The hotel is perfect if you want to merge excelent localization, hospitality, confort and good price. It was the second time we stayed in the hotel, and we recomend it!
