Super location, very friendly and helpful staff. They gave great recommendations for restaurants. Loved the city and the hotel. Would highly recommend it.
Room is too small
The location of this hotel was great; the room decor (including towels and bed linens) were top quality; it was very clean and up to date.
Room and bathroom were quite small and cramped, but that's only to be expected at this price.
The only bad thing with this hotel was the bed. Was so worn out/soft that you practically were sitting and sleeping. Otherwise a perfect cute and very nice hotel
Great friendly staff. Great location. Very clean and lots of free amenities for the guests.
Poor ventilation in the room. We had a corner room and it was very stuffy. No ac is expected for SF but needs more ventilation.
Great location. comfortable room with a lot of lovely little touches. Free tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits in the lobby.
Nothing I can think of.
The service was extraordinary! Very helpfull staff, was willing to help whenever needed and was very kind and informative. the hotel had coffee, tea and cookies 24 hours a day, very comfortable for a hotel without breakfast. one of the few hotels that actually put attention to the remarks I wrote in the booking and put me in a very quiet room, which was very nice and comfortable too, and came with all sorts of candies. In general, a great hotel with a perfect location on the union quare.
No bad things to say really. The building itself is preety old (100 years) but it didn't spoiled the expreience because it is very renovative.
Their valued added extras , complimentary coffee ,cookies , fruit , sweets in the rooms .... Staff that serve you as a guest without hesitation.. Amazing consistent service . Thank you ...
The bleach cleaning agent smell in our room. another fragrance would have been much more pleasant. It did however indicate to us that rooms were clean , but overwhelming ....
Location, staff, nice breakfast, close to cable cars, 24 hour coffee, safe provided in room
No air conditioning
Helpful, friendly, welcoming and informative staff. Bar facilities excellent. Rooms and plumbing superior to Waldorf, where we stayed. Very comfortable stay.
Ear shattering noise of building next door. (Understood but Earplugs didn't quite cut it!!) Not being able to stay longer, thank you!!.
Very helpful service.
Central to all activities and shopping. Good access to public transport.
Price a bit high but was expected for the area.
Price Cleanliness of the room Very friendly staff Smiling staff Helpfull staff Stylish room
Location The front desk was very friendly
The rooms were old. There is no A/C - so if I go back, it will be in winter. Slept with the windows open so the noise was significant. The street at night looks unsafe but it's fine. There are a lot of people sleeping on the streets nearby. The elevator is small, but fine.
They were unable to give us an early check in, so they held our bags for us (since we had made plans for the day) and when we were able to check in they brought the bags to the room and we had a complimentary bottle of wine inside. The service was exemplary and anything you needed, they would be happy to accommodate you. The beds were comfortable and you could order about 15 different kinds of pillows! They had little notes everywhere asking to help them save the environment by doing small things. It was great. Loved the Chancellor Hotel!
The rooms were a little small. But that did not bother us very much.
Amenities offered were same as larger chain hotels without extra charges..pillow menu, candy in room, round the clock coffee , water , cookies, fruit in lobby. Little details mean a lot.
The breakfast being included Room's quiet (we were at the back)
lifts really slow
Staff and amenities excellent, location perfect. Walking distance to most sights around the city, cable car . Restaurant in house excellent value for money, great taste .
Noise from ice machine on bedroom wall, couldn't keep window open because of noise from ventilation units under our window from building next door
Great walking location Fabulous staff support Hot coffee 24/7
Small room [if it matters to you] No A/C [cool mornings/nights with window open was fine]
The hotel was close to the trolley's. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were earplugs by the bed, but we didn't feel we needed them. It wasn't too noisy.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The free coffee and water in the reception area. Very good location. Nice to come back and relax after a day out.
Location, clean, friendly, comfortable rooms.
location was perfect.
very small rooms
Breakfast was great value & very good, staff very obliging
The location was key to us, right on Powell Street.
Rooms are small, and no a/c, but we didn't really mind it too much. We visited on a day that SF received record breaking heat.
