Great walking location Fabulous staff support Hot coffee 24/7
Small room [if it matters to you] No A/C [cool mornings/nights with window open was fine]
The staff were friendly and helpful. The free coffee and water in the reception area. Very good location. Nice to come back and relax after a day out.
Location, clean, friendly, comfortable rooms.
location was perfect.
very small rooms
Breakfast was great value & very good, staff very obliging
The location was key to us, right on Powell Street.
Rooms are small, and no a/c, but we didn't really mind it too much. We visited on a day that SF received record breaking heat.
Comfortable, pretty room. Coffee, cookies and apples downstairs all day in the lobby.
Excellent location Nice touches in room - ear plugs, jar of sweets, rubber duck etc
Staff are friendly and helpful, nice little touches - my son loved the constant supply of popcorn in the lobby! Small but comfortable rooms. Great location.
Location was fantastic and a good rate compared to others in the area.
Very tired rooms
large comfortable bed fast wifi complementary coffee and cookies in lounge friendly staff nice view from room comparatively quiet, given location
weak shower no air conditioning in room
The hotel location is great. Also the staff was very helpful..even though the hotel is 100 years old it is very unique? We loved it!!
There is nothing to not like.
Easy going and staff did the job I requested
None at all
Rooms too small for the price.
The front desk staff were phenomenol. The complimentary coffee and apples were excellent. Few rooms on each floor was cozy. Spiral stairs were fun to walk down. Sourdough pancakes were great and restaurant next door was a treat too.
Bathroom was small
For the money couldn't fault it ...great position, friendly staff and v comfortable beds with pillow menu
Its prime location, our bottle of wine in the room, the gentle and proactive staff
The staff were a highlight of this hotel, so friendly and helpful and willing to do anything they could to make our trip more comfortable. The hotel itself had a charming historical feel to it and was extremely comfy. The hotel provided free water, fruit, and cookies as well as a little gift shop were you could organise hotel transfers, muni transport rides and tours. would definately stay here again without hesitation!
I very much enjoyed staying at the Chancellor, the staff was great, polite and helpful. was able to purchase my tours right at the hotel and I was pick up and drop off at the front door. Excellent place to stay, very central, plenty of shopping and very safe for a solo traveller, would recommend to anyone
There was nothing I didn't like
Good wifi connectivity. Tour desk in the lobby. Bed was so so comfy. My requests for quiet room and high floor were accommodated. My room was on the 14th floor which was great. Absolute great location. Only 1 block away from Union Square Park and close to Macy's and H&M.
No coffee or tea amenities in room. Door was not easy to close. We had to pull or push so hard just to close the door.
Very central located. On higher floors good view. Small rooms but OK. Free coffee, tea, apples and cokies all day.
Union Square is quite noisy and very touristic, only little better than Fisherman's Wharf. If you want to stay in a quite but interesting neighborhood then better parts of the city, also within walking distance of the city center. But if you want to stay in the city center this hotel is a good choice.
They have a pillow selection! I have now found Buckwheat pillows are awesome! I have to say, I liked everything. The staff, good drinks downstairs, decent coffee, always fresh lemon or cucumber water set out. No complaints! Oh, and we had breakfast one morning and that was good as well. Some people say the rooms are small. This is an old hotel, and what do you do in a hotel on vacation other than sleep, shower and repeat? The room, service, and location are excellent!
Great place free coffee, biscuits, muffins and apples in lobby was great
Very handy to most things
Very small bedroom. Over crowded for the size
Great staff. Loved the color scheme of the rooms. The vast pillow options and candy jar were a fun touch.
TV speakers were blown out.
