Clean rooms, proximity to Union Square and transport, free WiFi
No air conditioning so windows had to be open to get any air in the room.
Near my meeting site and restaurants. Good value.
Solo sax performers at Union square park.
Very professional, the rooms are very nice and clean. A bit noisy on the street but it didn't prevent me from sleeping at all (the beds are very comfortable)
near the union square. easy to get public traffic to the tourist spots.
very small room and noise from street.
Location, friendly staff, old building has character.
I like the look of the Hotel. It is very charming. The bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean.
There were two small elevators and one was out of service.
First....Location, location, location!! A short walk to Union Square to catch a streetcar, shop, dine. Beautiful old architectural bits (thick doors & walls...quiet) as well as lots of plugs for charging your devices. Wonderful blend of old and new. Staff went above & beyond to be accommodating & helpful.
Location, clean rooms, views.
Thin walls. Can hear neighbor sneeze. Noise doesn't bother me. But sometimes I can bug my neighbors because loud music in the morning is my "coffee"
The location.nearness of Starbucks and Walgreens..also good shops.
Reception staff could be more friendly. No tea or coffee facilities in room. Wifi could be better. Tv channels awful could be improved.
This was my second stay at this hotel within 4 years and everything was as I remebered it. While this shows that there have not been any major refurbishments, it certainly speaks for the character that the hotel retained and which adds to the charme of the hotel. Together withers central location, friendly staff, a full bath, free coffee and cookies this hotel does not disappoint,
It takes a long time to air the room out. I had the windows open all day and only towards the end of my stat did the room smell of the fresh air. Television was not working great, the picture quality was rather poor.
This was a perfect place for me and my seven year-old son! We had a cozy room with twin beds that was nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable! It was a great base to explore the city!! Nice staff - everything we needed!
We were on the second floor and, unfortunately, the street noise was unbelievably loud. At one point I even got up to check to see if the windows were actually open - I couldn't believe the lack of sound proofing! Reserve a room way up high!!
poor wi fi
The location is excellent with nice rooms and great restaurant food and waiter/waitress service.
We felt completely ripped off by the consierge however. We reserved our airport shuttle the night before, paying a deposit for the service. When we were ready to leave, we got into the shuttle, presenting our ticket. We were then driven around the city for over a half hour while the driver told us we had plenty of time to get to our intl. flight. His base then called to say we were the wrong customers and to return us to the hotel! The consierge more or less said "too bad" when I asked for a refund, saying it would take a long time. We had to take a limo for a high fare besides the lost deposit with the consierge!
It was a great place for a weekend getaway
Mattress was slanted, or broken. Quite a bit of dust on the horizontal planes, top of tiles, etc
Loved the location, rooms are on the small side but that was to be expected and they are more than adequate. Particularly liked the demographic of the other guests - lots of people from other countries, which is so much more fun than your typical Marriott or Westin guests!
great location to move around the city 24 hour free coffee & cookies service in the lobby free wi-fi
bed linen was clean enough but the mattres pad was uneven. Felt a bit strange but was not bothered too much because of tiredness.
The location was excellent! The bath salts were a nice extra..perfect after a long day of wandering around the city
The whole way all the staff incl. the cleaning staff were friendly & obliging
That they had a restaurant but didn't use it for evening meals, as a solo visitor it would have been a big plus not to have had to go outside the hotel to eat.
No heater in the room
Historic hotel, very clean and reasonably priced. Charming interior. Front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great location near more expensive hotels. I'll be back!
Convenience Staff reasonably helpful
Covers of 1930s Jazz music at breakfast time!
Location, cleanliness, friendly helpful staff, complimentary tea/ coffee and cookies in reception
No tea/ coffee facilities in room. Breakfast was adequate but ordinary. Would not have chosen to eat a main meal in hotel.
The buzz of the City!
That the great winter rates aren't year round.
