Breakfast and cleanliness. Also the access to gym.
The only issue we had, at times, the internet was very slow.
The location was perfect. The hotel was clean and very comfortable.
People on duty, comfy beds
The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and spacious. Location was fantastic - only wish we had stayed longer.
A bit noisy but managed to sleep.
Easy access to trolley, buses & walking to Chinatown and shopping.
Room was quite warm
Easy to walk anywhere in the City, excelllent Service and great advices in what to do in the city plus restaurant tips. Coffee, Cookies and apples for free. Wireless works perfectly
Parking. U had to pay $45 to have ur car there. Very expensive.
Tac right in the middle of everything. We were able to walk and get dinner and ice cream.
Great location and value for money. Next to the cable car tracks and union square.
We liked EVERYTHING about this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. It seemed like everything you could think of was in place. Would recommend to anyone!
The bar tender in the hotel lobby seemed annoyed when we ordered drinks, forgot out drinks and then didn't come back to the table.
This hotel has so much charm. I love that is has stayed true to its original construction. The staff was nice, the flavored water was yummy and the location was perfect. The hotel was immaculate.
Not much a view, even from the higher floors. Bit of noise from the street but not enough to prevent me getting a good night's sleep.
Helpful staff and nice, but small, bedroom. Couldn't ask for a better location for sight-seeing and shopping in sf. Altogether, a simple but very clean and perfectly-located hotel. I managed to get a last-minute discount which made this place favourable in comparison with many other hotels in sf, which is a very expensive city in general.
Noise from the generator outside the window.
Cookies & drinks in the lobby. Duck in the bathroom!
No bad experience.
Small, quaint and simple, just what i needed and couldn't beat the price for vacation.
Room very quiet despite being in the midst of downtown San Francisco
Everything but the parking charges

mostly friendly and helpful staff (except for a concierge staff, unfortunately I don't know his name). Bartender Rory helped me get the lift while I was holding my drinks in both hands (not a wise idea to order 2 drinks). Free coffee, tea and cookies in the lobby was a very nice touch. And free wifi was included too! Bed was very comfy, room and bathroom amenities were adequate eg iron, ironing board, bath salts, shampoo and conditioner, etc. there were two luggage stands. I would say this beats many big chain hotels.
Wifi was poor and barely usable.
The location is excellent. Rooms are tiny so for one it was fine.
The room was smaller than most hotel rooms, but that didn't bother me at all. The bed was extremely comfortable, there were 12 different pillows you could choose from by calling downstairs, we loved our original ones! The two of us fit comfortably. You can open the window for a nice breeze and hear the street music at night which was wonderful! However, going mid summer might get a little warm with no AC in the hotel. We went end of March
This location was so perfect for me and my boyfriend. Right on the cable car line, restaurants within walking distance. The brunch restaurant right next door "Sears Fine Food" had amazing fresh breakfast with delicious mimosas and Bellini. The line on sunday morning for brunch was very very long so I suggest going during the week! The bar two doors down Golden gate Tap Room had 100 beers on tap to choose from, pool tables, shuffle board, arcarde games and awesome atmosphere. Overall, I loved this hotel and would 100% stay here again my next trip to San Fran! No complaints!
Very impressed. I almost didn't want to review because I want to keep it as a hidden gem. Older building with loads of charm, very well maintained and clean. Value for money is excellent. You will likely want vallet if you drive because streets are crazy steep and parking spots are hard to find. So budget the extra $ for valet, it's a good value.
