good staff and location
AC is a monstertruck in size and sound. almost impossible to sleep with the AC on
Staff and accommodations were first-rate. Friendly, attentive service. Location is perfect.
Bathrooms were small with little to no counter space. Had to get creative.
Clean luxuriously decorated room with Molton Brown toiletries Fantastic central location Great hotel bar and communal areas
Room is well presented but is on the small side as you pay for the location
Staff was welcoming & professional/
Rooms tired & dated. Small but normal for NY. Bathroom large but shower poorly designed (you must be under the water to turn on/off).
Excellent helpful staff. Very central hotel in an easy to access area and . conventient to sites and shopping.
Not anything to view from our room.
The staff were very helpful
Rooms are very small, facing back of the builiding or a current construction. We tried three differents rooms and noone reached the expectations considering its price.
Reception area, 24 hour tea and coffee available f.o.c in reception, size and comfort of bed
Room a bit small and awkward layout,no space at side of bed because of air conditioning unit, bathroom a bit dated and no space for personal items,
Beautiful hotel, fabulous staff, fine location, well appointed. Would love to stay there again.
Very loud construction across the street; ask for ear plugs or stay in the back of the hotel. Not the hotel's fault, but the construction is at times very loud and is going on for a long time.
location is great, love the cozy lobby, the helpful staff, the friendly duty managers, the clean rooms, and the clean bathrooms. Everything u need is in the room, and you have a mini bar, iron and ironing board, hair dryer ..ect
would love some free bottles of water at the first night, until people can find their way around and buy some. Also, a coffee machine won't hurt.
Perfect in every aspect. Safe in a great way, great people, great location, clean comfortable room, and a family feeling.
If they consider a coffee machine in the room it would be great. But they provide a free fresh coffee and tea in the lobby 24 hours.
Room facilities, helpful staff
Being woken every morning by the trash cart at 4am
This hotel is located very conveniently to attractions in the area without being overly crowded. It is very easy to walk to different subway connections, as well as, walk to many attractions while visiting NYC. There is an excellent resource right across the street for most anything you want to eat or drink or any supplies you may need. Service at the hotel was outstanding with very friendly and helpful and polite staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend!
The only criticism I would offer is that the glasses in the room for drinking were not replaced with clean ones each day. The room is not large, but it is OK if you are only using it primarily for sleeping, considering it is in NYC.
Incredibly professional and friendly staff. Bathroom and rooms extremely clean. Very accommodating as I was bringing my daughter back to college.
Doormen were great. Location was ok. Good price.
Just spent a week there. The rooms are more tiny than the pictures (still ok) but the bathroom is unbearably small. Really unacceptable. Besides that, upon arrival they charge or debit you the full amount of stay plus $75 a night in incidentals but fail to mention this charge when checking in. We had no incidentals and I am still waiting to get the $500 back into my account. I'd stay somewhere else next time.
Hotel Chandler is a lovely hotel which is just 2-3 minutes by foot from the Empire State Building. You can walk to Times Square in about 20 minutes and Bryant Park (my favourite place in ny) in about 10-15 minutes. Hotel Chandler itself is a boutique hotel which quaint, retro decorations. The staff were all very friendly and accomadating to all my needs. The rooms were spacious and clean. Every evening we would return from a days sightseeing to find our beds were turned down for us all ready for a good nights sleep with chocolates on the pillows! I have never experienced such an amazing service before. Wifi is free and we had very strong reception in our room. In the lobby/reception there is free tea and coffee for everyone and they also have a Apple Mac computer and printer there for business purposes. If you want to do a hop on hop off bus tour then I recommend the Grayline tour company (not big bus - long story but trust me!!). There is a great little breakfast place called 'Tasty' seconds from the hotel which is very cheap but very tasty :)! Basically turn right out of the hotel and at the end of the road turn right again and it's there. Ask reception for a leaflet. Their stop is 1 minute from the hotel and just before the Empire State Building. If you are looking for a small, boutique hotels in a good location near everything but far enough to get away from it all also then Hotel Chandler is a great place to make home during your stay in ny.
To be honest we did not find anything wrong with the hotel. The staff from reception to cleaners to door staff were fantastic, polite and extremely helpful.
Great location within easy walking distance of Empire State Building and Times Square. Liked the sofa bed was made up daily rather than being left up all the time. Lovely quiet room
Room had no view but then it meant it was quiet so not a problem.
- great bed - wifi was consistent - shower was good - fab location
- do not cater to vegetarians and are not willing to make an effort to do so (there was no vegetarian sandwich on the menu, and they told me they couldn't make a simple cheese sandwich) - between the side table and the bed there were sweets and chocolates from the previous occupant - never restocked the 'mini bar' for 4 days
Location great. Staff helpful.
Rooms smaller than we thought, also serious lack of light. A/C pretty noisy as well as the units bit old.
the details are pleasant, and of good quality. bed is comfortable and soft.
Comfort of the room, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the location of the hotel
Excellent concierge and very quiet room.
Extremely slow elevators; very small room and small bathroom with little counter space.
Good service, nice accommodations. Food in the bar was outstanding.
Spent most of our two day stay in a stuffy 12th floor room (very high floor, so warmer) as air conditioning was broken. After 3 visits and various trips by me to the breaker box (which would engage AC for 5 minutes), it was fixed. Awkwardly wound up in busy lobby in the night in my robe asking for ice for my spouses arm, as apparently there is no ice machine. They sent someone up with a bucket. Mini bar overpriced.
Staff remembered my name Friendliest valets Receptionists share their opinion and provide inside tips for cool places to visit Very polite and classy front office manager
AC very close to bed and noisy
The location is excellent. The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff is helpful. There is free tea and coffee facilities 24/7 which is nice for quick grab before you go out.
The room size is quite small but we suspect it's The same anywhere in New York. The restaurant is really pricey, having said that the head chef has 2 Michelin stars.
This boutique hotel is in a great location -walking distance to the Empire State Building. Clean rooms with good facilities
The room was a little small - but then this is a city-centre location
