Channel Road Inn  

Very good location, five minutes from the beach at Santa Monica, although maybe a couple of miles to the pier which is where most of the entertainment area is. Nice, old building, about fifteen rooms which is deceptive from the outside. The staff,particularly Heather and Rebecca, were excellent, really friendly, helpful with information, restaurant bookings etc. Breakfasts were good, although aimed at American tastes with no real cooked option. A happy hour with wine and various hors d'oevres was a very nice touch at 5.30pm each evening. A free PC and wi-fi throughout the building was also a bonus. There are three or four nice but pricey restaurants less than five minutes walk otherwise you need a car or a taxi.

It is an old building which is a bit 'tired', with noisy plumbing and creaky floorboards, and if you get a room at the front (we had room 2), it's on quite a busy, noisy road. There's no air conditioning although the room had a ceiling fan, but imagine the rooms at the front would get very hot in summer. It's a B&B, and quite expensive for what you get although LA and it's surrounding areas are all quite pricey. Enjoyed our four nights, but would perhaps stay nearer the centre of Santa Monica if ever back in the LA area.

Rooms individually furnished and very comfortable. We would recommend this inn very highly.

Fantastic old style b&b with relaxed ambience, superior service, comfortable rooms with lovely bathrooms, close to cycle and walkways and in a quieter part of Santa Monica.

Close to beach. Close to Resturants. Close to expressways and friendlyness of people at the Channel Road Inn and surrounding areas.

Was not a full breakfast as advertized.

The hotel is at an old house, the staff was so professional and kin d that we felt guests at good friends house. The attention to detail to make the guests feel comfortable were outstanding: cheese and wine session, complimentary coffee and soft drinks at all time, welcome cookies in the room and they even offer to post a complimentary post card. Excellent! I strongly recommend this hotel.

It fit into our plans to visit friends in Santa Monica and we always stay here when visiting our old home city. Great place to get away and enjoy a bit of luxury and relax.

Ambiance familiale dans ce bed & breakfast très amélioré. Décor et installations parfaits. Personnel extrêmement accueillant et sympathique.

Non distante dall'aeroporto, ottima posizione per visitare le zone interessanti di Los Angeles (Santa Monica, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, le spiaggie). Elegante e confortevole ottima cura dei dettagli.

Ontzettend gezellig en zeer goede Inn. We hebben ook erg genoten van het goed verzorgde ontbijt en de drankjes en hapjes tussen 5 en half 7. Daarnaast een super locatie.

Voilà un très bel et agréable endroit pour se poser après de longues journées à Los Angeles. Très bien situé dans les beaux quartiers de Santa Monica (loin du centre, voiture nécessaire) et proche de la plage. Les chambres sont joliment décorées et les buffets des petits-déjeuners variés et copieux. Une maison pleine de charme !

Attention, certaines chambres sont moins bien situées que d'autres (pas de vues ou plus bruyantes). Un reproche, le jardin minuscule qui est particulièrement négligé et qui ne donne absolument pas envie de s'y reposer. C'est bien dommage !

Super comfy bed and luxury sheets/comforter. Loved the wood floor and tasteful, unique wood furniture- not typical "grandma's house" B&B decor. Liked our little balcony with lounge and rocking chair. Building was lovely and nice, cozy common areas. Breakfast was basic, but good. Staff was friendly but not obtrusive (some B&B's have too much pressure to socialize with the staff/owners) Pastries and coffee available late night. free parking.

Creaky stairs and thin walls/ceilings, noisy pipes are typical of a historical building, and we didn't mind really, but light sleepers should bring ear plugs. May not be worth the $300+ price for the deluxe room- when compared to say the four seasons.
