Score from 460 reviews Wonderful
Location was excellent. Close to transit and many excellent restaurants. Bed was comfy but truly a double bed in a small double room. OK as I was travelling solo. Nice bar.
Breakfast a bit lacking in healthy choices. Self serve using paper plates and plastic cutlery.
Most everything about this hotel was top-notch.
The free breakfast is lacking some options, e.g. anything meat-related, eggs, etc.
The staff was wonderful, welcoming and informative. We arrived by Amtrak only 2 blocks away and traveled out-n-about by public transportation, which was at our door. Charlesmark Hotel was clean, lovely, cozy and comfortable. I'm returning in the Spring with my friends/family. Newberry Street shopping was amazing and restaurants....too many to decide where to eat, all near the hotel. Historical Boston Public Library across the street, I went there too, its a beautiful place to visit. If you've never been to Boston, stay in the Back Bay District, close to all other historical sites and easy to get there by public train service. Save money on parking and the headache of driving in the city. I can't wait to visit in warm weather with much more to do in and about Boston waterfront.
Not one bad moment or experience during my 4 day stay.
Everything was fine. The standard room is very small but has everything you need.
The only issue and it was not the "fault" of the hotel is the noise from the garbage trucks in the alley. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
Location, staff and price point.
Great location! Awesome value for your money
Super well located boto que hotel. Perfect in the winter since it's literally steps from the T. Warm and inviting rooms, quiet and comfortable.
Minor: wish the breakfast was just a bit better (like: have a toaster for those bagels! Have the option to use non-disposables...plates, mugs as well). No option to charge bar consumables to the room.
Loved the location and the modern rooms, but most of all loved the staff - friendly, efficient, helpful and ready to do anything requested. Rooms are small but well-appointed, free water bottles are a nice touch, bathrooms are very good and beds very comfortable. I'd highly recommend this hotel, it's unusually good.
Nothing much - breakfast was basic and perhaps a toaster and microwave would be good for the bagels and porridge.
Great location, very quiet, comfortable room. Nice free breakfast included, very helpful staff.
Reasonable price for a place to sleep and shower. The continental breakfast was enough for us. A good value in a great location
Directions for using TV. Missed the first 20 mins of SNL waiting for Comcast to start.
Good spread of breakfast. Friendly staff Great shower and toiletries
The room we stayed in has a window was facing an alley. We were woken up at 3 am by the garbage truck and they were there until 5.30 AM picking trash from the entire alley, not a good idea for light sleepers. The hotel should invest a bit in better soundproof windows.
The Charlesmark was in an excellent location, close to public transport and shops! The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The bed was quite small and not overly comfortable, my partner is quite tall and he found it difficult to sleep.
The location was to die for, and the staff was incredibly helpful & friendly.
You can easily hear other guests coming back to their rooms, but it wasn't too bad.
The breakfast in the morning needs to be better monitored, hardly anything left when we went down to eat.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good too. We arrived in Boston at 3am the day before our original checkin date and the charlesmark staff helped us with a last minute room, thanks to the 24hr reception.
1. Outstanding location! Close to the T, the airport shuttle, historic churches, Public Library (also an attraction in itself), Prudential SkyDeck, the amazing Newbury St. with all the shops and restaurants... I could go on and on. 2. Excellent staff - attentive, helpful, understanding, flexible... overall very pleasant without being over the top. 3. A small place that felt like home, without that big corporate hotel feel. 4. A good continental breakfast that never ran out of any items. 5. Free WiFi that ran very well. 6. Reliable cooling/heating system. 7. All the small details such as nice toiletry items, modern plumbing, detachable shower head, hairdryer, iron, a huge mirror... Thank you, CharlesMark! We hope to stay there again.
There was NOTHING we disliked! The room was small but that was to be expected and the two of us were very comfortable there. The room size and the narrow hallways gave the entire place the "European" feel... nothing wrong with that, right?
Great location, right by Copley, very close to the shopping centers and the train. Good for the price.
Charlesmark hotel is the best place to stay while is Boston a stroll from the best shops, sights and it has to be the most friendliest hotel we have stayed in by far. The service provided is second to none, nothing was too much trouble, from start to finish. Such a quirky hotel with free WiFi, complimentary tea and coffee and at amazing price, you would be rude not to stay here. Thank you so much for a memorable holiday.
Nothing not to like
Logan Express, from Logan Airport to and from hotel so convenient; good continental breakfast; nice and helpful staff; very good shower; frig in room; great location for shops, restaurants and Charles River.
Room was rather dark.
+ Location in town. + The staff was very nice. + Free Good Coffee (tea) the whole day. + Free use of Guide book during the stay.
- A toaster for the dry bagels would make a big difference.
breakfast, location, cleaness
room size, bed, no coffee or tea maker, hard to get hot water...
Room was very nice-clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly.
The bar opens at 5pm. Drinks are expensive and that is acceptable. I just wondered why they didn't serve the patrons any of the displayed snacks that were beside a stack of bowls behind the bar?
This hotel was closed to all point of interests in Boston city. The room was clean with hightechnology.
The room was very small.
