Central city location was excellent
Unfortunately room opposite rubbish collection which started at 5 am. Impossible to sleep. Also v cold and no room for breakfast so either outside in courtyard (! ) or delivery to our room.
My wife and I stayed here for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon and loved it! Such a great location minutes from restaurants and shops. Great room and great service for an awesome value!
Parking in the garage across the street was a bit pricey but can't really complain about the convenience in location
Breakfast in the courtyard. Free wine and cheese each evening.
The room we were given - ground floor and behind the air conditioning unit. We were shown another two and after the first night we swapped to yet another. Make sure you are happy with your choice.
No room safe Indifferent breakfast No tea making facilities in the room
Breakfast was lovely and the room itself clean and comfortable.
Public areas need a bit of a tidy up - by the pool in particular.
Beautiful, bright, spacious room, nicely decorated...great bathroom, very clean, location!
Very noisy in am...
So close to shopping and the best Resturants. Husk next door and several favorites on East Bay. Market close as well. Just awesome . It was exactly what one should expect while staying in a historical Inn.
No real negative . Exactly what one should expect while staying in a Historical Inn. No Closets and small vanity . But what one should expect.
The Elliott house was out last stop after staying myrtle beach for a week. We only stayed one night, so the woman that checked me in was very nice and told us some great restraunts to try, which we did. The courtyard is beautiful where they had a wine and cheese hour in the evening which was fabulous. I could go on and on. The Inn is right in the middle of all the action, however was quiet and comfortable.
Not one thing I didn't like.
Breakfast and wine on the courtyard, though not at the same time!
Friendly staff, clean rooms, breakfast in bed. Quaint courtyard for wine reception every evening. Quintessential Charleston charm. Excellent location! Overall awesome visit.
Hot tub seemed unclean but it was under the palms.
Location, cleanliness, courtesy of the workers
Didn't seem like high elegance for the money. We were celebrating our 45th anniversary. Even though there was room service, there was no courtyard or table and chairs to eat inside the room. Fortunately the weather was good so we had a nice time on the courtyard. With rain that could have been miserable. The coffee was great but the breakfast offerings were not that great. For this expense, it seems we should have first class pastires, veriety of fresh fruit, nuts, etc.
Nice courtyard. Great location.
Small room with window looking straight into the kitchen (and vice versa) with a lot of movement going on. Pre-packaged feel to breakfast. Hot tub did not look particularly clean (did not try it).
We chose the Elliott House for its location but did not realize just how wonderfully situated it was until we actually arrived because we were first time visitors. The hotel is in the center of the historic district, has 3 excellent restaurants on the same block as well as easy parking directly across the street. We were very pleased to discover we even had a private patio off the back of the room. Breakfast is included and the staff delivers your tray either to your room or to the courtyard. We were able to enjoy ours privately and it was delivered exactly at the time of our chosing. There were also other unexpected little niceties that we appreciated: there is a daily 'happy hour' of wine and cheese, coffee and newspapers in the morning and cold lemonade ... all found in the courtyard. We chose the historic tour led by one of the hotel's own staff and ended up having him all to ourselves. Fascinating fountain of knowledge about Charleston and South Carolina history. We will be back!
We did not try it but were not impressed by the hot tub in the middle of the courtyard. It just did not seem very clean but we did see others enjoying it later so maybe this was just a false impression.
The location and the helpful staff.
Room needed some updating, parking was $20 a day, breakfast was a bit skimpy.
Shower /. bikes on site
Bed to high
Fantastic old Inn. Iconic accommodation for stay in Charleston. Room was like something out of Gone With The Wind - fabulous! Faultless staff could not have been more pleasant. Neil on reception had exceptional knowledge of Charleston and local history.
Location, before dinner drinks in courtyard, quiet.
Additional costs, ie. parking expensive. Breakfast selection limited but always on time. Missing cutlery several times. A little overpriced, compared to other inns we've stayed in around the world.
Cleanliness of property, a lot to be desired!
Great location. Terrific desk staff. Wait staff less pleasant Coffee.
Breakfast. unimaginative and not very good for what it was. in a city like Charleston with all the wonderful choices it was a big disappointment.
Really cute and romantic. Great location.
Noisy AC, limited breakfast selection, tiny bathroom in need of repairs.
Great atmosphere, fantastic location, bikes available for guest use. very knowledgeable and welcoming staff, good room decor. We lucked into a very shot term promotion on the room rate - a wonderful value. At full price it would have been a fair value, though.
The ground floor room was a little musty, but then the climate is a damp one. The breakfast options could have been better, especially for a picky eater.
Ease of check in, comfortable room and breakfast served to our room.
No towels at the hot tub
I was charged the original amount I gave to Bookings. Then the whole amount plus the taxes again when I checked out.. They say original amount will take a while to be credited. It was normal to do it that way.?i don't know why they would have to do it like that.
Great location and very helpful staff!!
