Location is excellent.
If you are even considering going here don't bother. There are holes in the walls, poor management, shocking beds and every morning we were woken before 8am by staff outside our door talking and sanding the walls. We gave this place a chance and regretted it. I have travelled all over the world and have gotten better service and facilities in one star hostels.
Place and cosiness. Good parking facilities.
Air condition solution without self adjustment. Breakfast was too poor - not cosi at all. The front desk men was in an old dirty shirt - not proper! It smells very bad in the garden where the breakfast was served.
I loved how quaint the hotel was. We didn't want to stay in a chain hotel and Chateau really fit the bill! The hotel is in the center of all the action but still far enough away to get away when we wanted to.
We had a corner room and it was noisy. Next time we will ask for an inside room!
Everything was nice. Always choose Chateau if rooms are available there.
Having to climb a lot of stairs but still not too bad.
Location - within walking distance of all the things we wanted to see. Friendly staff. Swimming pool. Amazingly informative staff in the lobby. Ambience.
Nights were disturbed by horse & carriages right outside the window. (But this was part of the character of the hotel, having the carriage tours pass by, and made for great photos)
-Gates close at night to monitor who comes in and out of the hotel -Beyond accommodating staff -PERFECT location to literally everything you could want to be near -Beautiful old architecture My husband & I had the best time at this hotel. We will be staying again.
-HEAT! It was the hottest weekend of the year, apparently; but, there's nothing Chateau Hotel could have done about that.
very filthy dirty hotel room baseboards with caked on dust long black hairs in the shower and on the floors had no towels one day and was told that we would just have to wait.
no parking lot.
Helpful staff and location was good
Kind of a dingy feel. Seems like bathroom needs to be renovated not painted over or caulked over. Also the pool just needs chemicals. It would be so much better for the customers and the feel of the hotel.
The hotel is 260 years old and reminded me of the hotels I'd spent time in when in France and Italy. Antique wood in the room, old style lamps, balcony overlooking Chartres street (the best street in the quarter if you ask me). Loved the price too!!!! Great value.
There was street noise at night but I expected that and brought earplugs so it did not bother me as much. The building is very old and has the usual issues for such buildings (such as no elevator) but was SO worth the trade off of the benefits and charm. There is a bellman that brings your bags up to the second floor so no worries.
Loved the location!
Workers across the hall awakened us at 6:15 am scraping tile floors loudly!!!
The location, the very good bed, the modest but free continental breakfast delivered to your room, the friendly staff, the general old style charm of the place.
Slow drain in shower-- got fixed after first night but began to slow again during our week's stay. Curtains on the one street-level window were hard to open and close, didn't properly black out the street lamps, and had no inner curtain so pedestrians can see into the room clearly whenever blackout curtains are open.
Location and professionalism of staff
Very dirty room Terrible breakfast
The location: in the heart of the french quarter but far enough from Bourbon street = the hotel stays quiet at night and you can go everywhere on your feet The price: it's a bargain for this location The staff: they were very helpful and make you feel comfortable. For example they call us a taxi on our check out day as they heard we were going to the airport and were going out for a cab
Clean and comfortable, just what we needed a peaceful staycation! Close to amazing restaurant, no need to drive anywhere once you are there
Location, location, location! Also, very nice front desk staff.
Air conditioning in rooms cannot be controlled by guests.
The location, the pool, the staff and the included breakfast.
location, location, location - lovely pool area witha place to sit in the shade, knowledgeable staff
dated hotel, poor serice on morning of checkout - but the rest of the time AWESOME!
We loved the room, you could smell the old wood when you walked in. Loved breakfast in bed every morning. GREAT pool, friendly staff, perfect location!
Could use a more hearty breakfast. Maybe some eggs.
The location was excellent, 2 blocks off the end of Bourbon Street. Nicely priced. Courtyard was very private and beautiful.
Mattress could have been more comfortable. Sloped into middle too much.
All of the staff was very pleasant. Room was comfortable and had no issues with noise.
Location Staff Comfortable rooms pool Character of hotel
No lift and the lighting in the room
everything was very nice , staff was great and very friendly , location was great, very quiet , would definately stay again
the 42 steps up to the room that I had - won't book that room again
Balcony overlooking Chartres St. was a surprise addition to our stay. Location is excellent for accessing the French Quarter and Marigny entertainment area.
For the value, this hotel was only adequate. Room and halls dark and musty, the lobby area and the courtyard grounds need a complete makeover and facelift.
