Location, property, price and free parking just make sure you grab brochure from tourism bureau with free parking sticker and mention to them when you check in!!!
Noisy staff early in the morning talking loud in courtyard. No elevator but to be expected in older building.
Great hotel and great location for the price
Shower was very unpredictable.
Location. Breakfast in bedroom.
Staff holding their smoking breaks at an open door at the bottom of the main staircase. The upstairs corridors filled with unpleasant smoke and there was no other way to exit the hotel.
The bed, location, staff.
No bathtub, then no shower cap Only I dim lamp, no other lighting in bedroom.
Perfect location for the Christmas week in the heart of the French Quarter. Our room was private and quiet, upstairs overlooking the pool/ courtyard with an easy walk to restaurants, jazz, shops and sights. The included breakfast was simple but adequate. We found real espresso coffee at Spitfire around the corner from the hotel and great night markets in Frenchmans St.
The hot water took about 10 minutes to reach our room but I would rather wait for hot water in a beautiful old building than stay in a bland, modern hotel any day! The reception staff could have been a bit more friendly but the room staff were lovely.
The beds were terrific and the location was very convenient. The free delivered continental breakfast was a nice touch.
Our shower temperature was virtually uncontrollable and ranged from scorching to cold without changing the control. The offer free continental breakfast delivered to the room. The first day it was half an hour late, on time the second day and never showed up on the third day. Also, the heat was either on or off. No way to control the temperature. You literally turned a light switch on to turn on the heat. When it got too hot, you turned it off.
We love this place! Stay here every time we come to town!
- Chateau offered an oasis and I felt safe, considering the geographic centrality of the hotel (the parade and tours came through our street, Chartres) and there was always foot traffic. - Loved that there was no heater unit; the climate control switch just worked so much better. - Clean facilities and reasonably-sized (toilet/bathroom/vanity dresser). - The delivered breakfast is a wonderful concept: balanced and just enough: appreciated it very much. - I reckon that I paid much less for the same or conceivably much better service than the "big names" accommodation-wise particularly if one considered the centrality of Chateau.
I liked the staff very helpful, but location was fair from attraction. But if you looking for quiet this is the place but it was fair from bourbon st, not a block more as 3 block down at the very end. But my stay was great food need to be hot breakfast though.
Location was good but watch where you walk at night close to hotel. Front desk was helpful for eating suggestions.
Cleaning staff was Very Loud in the am. Sleeping out of the question. They smoke in the hallway stairs while getting supplies ready to do there cleaning. I would not stay here again.
Accommodating staff Location Ambiance Everything
I liked the room and location of the hotel, I also liked the continental breakfast with room service.
Did not like that the room did not have a heater or a thermostat for room temp control, had to get a space heater from the front desk.
The mattress and linens were impeccable. Our room looked onto a quaint courtyard. Beautiful high ceilings. Decor was classy without being over-designed...for me, the epitome of southern charm. From beginning to end, the staff looked after us as if they owned the place. I would definitely book again.
Housekeeping is not 24/7, so I missed a cleaning one day (due to a hangover!). But the front desk sent is the necessities - towels, tissues, etc. The best second option possible. My headache was very grateful.
This place needs to close down and undergo renovation. It was disgusting and filthy and we paid good money for a suite and hardly slept all night. The sheets were dirty and we were next to the kitchen with noise and smells from 6am. Machine cutting wood in front of our door at 9 am. We left early because it was so bad.
Breakfast served at the room together with the newspaper
Easy check-in, check out times. No nickel-and-diming. Generous with towels, breakfast, etc. Staff is efficent and friendly.
Location was about all we liked at this hotel
Run down hotel, mouse ran across the hall on our way in. Staff seemed easily annoyed when we asked questions. The room we got was not one of the ones in the pictures- no windows, tiny room, sink slow to drain, shelves falling off walls, slow WIFI, bathroom tiny, shower not clean, we were unable to control room temp. I booked this hotel for my family, was very embarrassed for them to stay here. I felt I couldn't apologize enough. I would have preferred to stay farther out, location not worth it.
Great location, nice and friendly staff
Rooms in the street level are a bit noisy.
I think this is your best best if you don't want to stay in a chain. While I don't know that it is, it certainly felt like it was family run. Everyone was very helpful and got you what you needed when you needed it. You are two blocks away from Decatur which lines the Quarter on the south side, and there are TONS of shops, restaurants and bars there. Once you are on Decatur, you're only another 2 blocks away from Frenchman St. which is where all the jazz clubs are, where there is NEVER any cover and you can just walk in and out as you please; super great time. Bourbon is not much further of a walk, maybe 5 blocks or so. Also, there is a restaurant called Irene's right by the hotel that we really wanted to go to and never was able to. I heard it quoted as "five star restaurant for three star prices." Strongly recommend that place if you can, even though I have never been. The hotel room was quaint, but had everything that you needed. The bed was fantastic.
This is an OLD place, so we were on the bottom floor, and you could hear what was going on above and next to you. Its New Orleans, we wanted to sleep late, and not leave our room until the afternoon. I don't think the maid service was super happy by that due to the looks I got when I answered the door and told them that we'd be out in 30 minutes (which would have been around noon or so); despite that, our room still got cleaned no matter what. Again, this is an OLD place, the shower door to was a jankity, but it still closed. Despite these things, I still really, really liked it.
close to all good things staff was very helpful and friendly allowed in room early allowed late checkout newspaper delivered to our door breakfast brought to our room
our room was on the street level and you could hear passers by and the trash truck early in the morning. The room was GREAT but if you are a light sleeper stay within the interior of the hotel.
The location was good and loved the court yard area
The bed was extremely uncomfortable!!! The worst in all the beds we slept in in one month of travelling. The room was not totally clean and really small squashing 4 people in. No place for our suitcases
Staff Location Size and comfort of room
Small outdated TV The rooms have no sound guard. I could hear everything my neighbor talked about which was annoying.
Old French Quarter feel. New Orleans atmosphere. Loaction was excellent to all places we wanted to go. Staff was helpful and seem to go out of their way to make my stay the best
Paying extra for parking.
I liked the location and the architec
I did not that there was a mouse in our room and the staff acted very nonchalant about it. I was even told that the mouse had moved on.
