All the staff - except for the rude night mgr on arrival - were super nice, friendly and tried to assist any way possible. Kids loved the trolley ride. I was "upgraded" to a smaller room- from double room to train car...these small train car rooms do not work w/2 small children - one in crib ....this leaves no room to walk in room...when i asked why i was "upgraded" the rude night mgr told me "most" families love the ":upgrade". If you overbook your rooms just give your patrons the courtesy of telling the truth instead of the "upgrade" story. My "upgrade" sucked !!!!

The atmosphere, restaurants and decor were perfect. Room 753, on the train, temperature was 60 degrees at night. I called the front desk and they sent someone to repair it but on the second night, the furnace couldn't keep the temperature above 62 degrees. I'd have to think twice about staying on the train again because of this problem.

The nostalgia. Our room was horrible. It smelled of old people and smoke. I couldn't sleep because of the smell. I do not feel like the room was worth $177. I would not stay there again!!

Like the area, shopping, dining is always good, service is good. Room is comfortable. Kids, 4 and 6, had a great time with the trains and playing. I like going there. Love spring and summer there. Little too expensive for the value. It is winter, so getting the appropriate heat at night was a challenge. Very difficult to find transport equipment for our luggage. Trolley only ran 2 times so kids were disappointed.

first of all we were g'parents traveling with 9 yr old granddaughters (not an option above) Staff was very accommodating (see other comment). Restaurant was good. Location was perfect. Shuttle was a real treat. Overall we all had a wonderful time. I clearly stated we wanted to stay in the train. When we registered we were put in a room in the hotel. Luckily I had the confirmation with me that stated "room in the train" so we were accommodated. It was quite cold and we asked for additional blankets and pillows. Instead received additional sheets and pillows. We made due but should have received blankets as requested.

The hotel lobby is gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful. The shops were wonderful with very friendly staff. The history is awesome. The restaurant across the street (Brewhouse) has superb, affordable food with a unique atmosphere. The train cars are splendid, from what we could see and peeked our curiosity. The staff were just okay, except in the shops. We stayed in building 1 on the second floor. There was a leaky ceiling with nasty buckets and plastic in middle of the hallway. We did not have pillows and had to request them. By the time the pillows were delivered it was too late to eat at the restaurant as it closes at 9 pm and it was 9:08 when we got down there. The building we were in was musty and smelled moldy. It was very expensive at $175 and had no atmosphere to justify the cost. We have stayed in cheaper, nicer hotels that were 1/2 or more of the cost of this less than ideal room. Check out is 11 am and the room did not include a complimentary breakfast, much to our surprise. The breakfast at the hotel was expensive for what was offered, nothing special or unique. In fact, I would recommend Cracker Barrel before the hotel food. We were extremely disappointed as we anticipated a unique and exciting stay. Perhaps staying in one of the converted train cars and eating in the train car restaurant would be a better experience but I cannot say I would recommend staying at the Choo Choo in the hotel rooms nor recommend eating at the Garden Restaurant. We loved Chattanooga and will visit again but I doubt we will visit the Choo Choo hotel again.

Interesting historic site, aundantly restored-- a worthy effort. Good cocktail bar on site. A little too cheesey and Disneyesque for a pair of pensioners. Food as calorific as pretty well all of the rest of southern USA.

Location was close to downtown! My two kids really liked the property as it had a nice pool and of course they loved all of the trains. Our room was in building two. We were told when we checked in that we were lucky because we were in the newly renovated building and our room would be nice. This could not have been further from the truth! The bathroom was awful, the pillows were hard, the towels exfoliated my skin, and there was plaster all over the floor by the sliding glass door from were the latch was more then half of the wall. Since the latch was broken they had a PVC pipe cut to lay on the track so no one could open the door from outside as we were on the first floor. We paid $180.00 for one night. Save your money and stay somewhere else and go there to tour the property if you want to see the trains.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but felt the place, cars, definitely need an upgrade. The price we paid was way too much. Disappointed that it costs what it did. I can see a little more than an average room, but $175 was way too much !!!!!!!!!! Probably wouldn't stay there again at that price. Didn't have time to discuss with management.

For a lower price we could have stayed at a Day's Inn, Super 8, etc for less and have had better, larger, and more modern rooms. For the charge for the stay I will not be returning.

The lobby was beautiful. Everything else was outdated and smelled funny everywhere you went. The hotel was 70's outdated decor. Every building we went in had a different gross smell. I would not stay at this hotel again. That is too much money to spend for a discusting room.

The location was great but I felt the room was over priced for what we received and also we were placed in a handicapped room and was not told in advance. There were only one trash container in the room, the double beds were small and we would have perferred not to have been placed in a handicapped room if we had been told in advance.

Iwas disappointed to see plastic buckets sitting on the floor under what looked like a ceiling leak. there was a smell of mold in the lobby area of the building we stayed in.it seems as tho the hotel needs up grading. the room was ok nice clean no problems at all its the pool area and the lobby area.

My child enjoyed your pool. It was just a regular motel with a nice check in area. I paid $175 for one night in the motel for what I felt was a $40 room. I stayed in #3 with my family which smelled of alcohol, mold and garbage. I went to all five floors of the motel to the vending areas and none of the drink machines had drinks of any flavor in them. Apparently the pool does not close because the partiers at the pool went all night as well as what sounded like children running up and down the hallways late into the night. When the air conditioner kicked on it stayed on for 15 to 20 minutes and sounded like a airplane taking off the entire time.

I was really disappointed with the pools and hot tub. My kids were so excited to try all three of the pools. All of them were loaded with dirt on the bottom. The hot tub was the most offensive! The seating kept falling off- it seemed very old. The water temp was luke warm, and worst of all, there was a film of grease lining the whole tub. My kids didn't even want to step into it! I was very disappointed with our stay and would never go back.
