Paint falling from ceiling in bathroom no fridge or microwave
We have stayed here several times. The last couple of times we enjoyed the singing servers restaurant. I understand that this is being changed to a comedy club. will definitely impact whether I stay there any more. Why mess with a good thing.
Location, railroad charm
Heat not work in car 735 -- 58 degrees!! Moved to room 1012. Radio alarm in vacant adjacent room kept wife awake. Fruit in Gardens Restaurant beginning to ferment. Coffee carafes were all dirty on the outside. Ruined our combined birthdays and wedding anniversary. Restaurants were closed due to "renovations" requiring us to walk in dark to nearby venues. Had been wanting to sleep in railroad car since my last visit in the 80s but utterly disappointed.
Main entrance is in poor shape, and the man at the front desk who checked us in projected no friendliness whatsoever. (We reserved two rooms for 4 people and a Service Dog for 2 nights.) The building we were assigned to was in poor condition and the elevator made loud, grinding noise. Beds had that "roll down into center" effect, the bathroom was in desperate need of a facelift, and the A/C & Heat unit was very noisey.
I stay at your hotel several times a month. I called and ask girl at front desk if they would honor my rate I use every time or can even book through 3 party cheaper. My rate is usually 89 a night. She replied we are having a good weekend. No rates like that tonight even though she had plenty of rooms. U think she would take into consideration I was a long term quest. The hotel is under construction. I also was dropped off and 6 dollar parking charge was put on my bill. The elevators were not working the halls smell of hydrolic oil. My room was not clean sticker hanging off sliding door, dirty stained towels, shower curtain so short water poured in floor, shower rod was rusty and no screens on sinks which lets particals in water from old pipes. I stay there anyway, when I got my bill I was shocked. I think it's a bad practice to stick it to good old patrians that have supported u for years . I brought it to your staffs attention but they are to unprofessional to actually help. I am very upset with my stay and hope u see it the way I do. I know other hotels would love to have my money.
Sorry not typing this over . Please reply or u will loose my business forever. Thank you for your time.
Very old facility. Service was not good
The gardens were beautiful and we particularly liked The Garden Restaurant! The train conductor is a real asset to the facility! It was wonderful to have the free shuttle.
The view from our room was a bit disappointing.
Grand entrance building but that's all
Every thing costs more money. The mattress was fit for the dumpster. We left with out buying breakfast. The bill was $40 over agreed rate. + taxes + parking Day visit this hotel, don't stay at it. Room rate was halved over mattress.
Loved the fact that we could catch the free electric shuttle to downtown just outside the hotel. Every city needs to take note. Could reduce downtown conjestion and be a boone for tourism into downtown core.
This historical property is lined up for a huge renovation in 2015. We have stayed here multiple times and will say the renovation for the rooms is due but it was still very comfortable and clean. The lobby will never lose its charm, it is gorgeous. The Chattanooga shuttle stop is right at the property. We chose to drive and had an easy drive down to the Aquarium and riverfront. It also is only 10-15 minutes from Lookout Mountain attractions. Across the street is the Hot Chocolatier. I hope it stays around, enjoyed going there on a cold afternoon. We will return and excited about their plans to update.
Other than the street front which is the awesome historical part, the outside is so out dated. I hope they'll give it a face lift. The rooms do need new carpeting and spruced up but, ours was clean and that's more important. Was a bit pricey for current room features but downtown location, easy access, and anticipation of improvement will bring me back.
The iron chairs in the room, very old beds, the price of the room. Will never stay there again.
everything was filthy, not just unclean. at $120/night, expected more. Had we had the time to locate another hotel, we would have walked out.
Eric was super friendly at check in as well as all staff seen on the property. Dinner was great at Blue Orleans across the street.
Tub filled with water after 2 showers, most attractions on property closed & the few left are planning to as well due to renovation, pay daily to park where you've already paid more than you would normally pay just to stay there, indoor pool not heated. Basically just a place to sleep & get a shower while standing in the last persons water & paying for your vehicle to park in their lot where you've spent enough and the in room coffee maker - horrible!
A group of friends stayed at the ChooChoo overnight. Very nice overall, wonderful character. The best feature was the delicious breakfast buffet! Absolutely wonderful food! Would stay there again!
The fact that you have to pay for parking. I think parking in a motel parking lot should be included!
Neat to sleep in a vintage rail car. parking was close to the rail car.
Hotel is showing its age. desk clerk couldnt find my reservation. I had to get papers I had printed off in order to get a room. He had to take them to office before I could get a room.
Old historic area and good service.
Needs update, but that is currently under way.
Staff were excellent, room was large and bed comfy. Very clean. Breakfast was good $8.95 each
Bit dated needs a bit of upgrading but seems to be getting public areas started on update programme
Shuttle service to other areas of Chattanooga. Grounds pretty clean.
Rooms still not clean enough (need to dust lamps!) Hard to find a restaurant (except pizza) for lunch. Had to go to another property.
The railway carriage. Station surrounds. Main railway station, wonderful building.
Railway carriage getting dated. Bed only 5 feet. Difficult to adjust temperature in carriage.
Historic building . Performances of waiters in Restaurant.
Breakfast should have been included. Dark long floors.
We loved the setting, the history and the railcar room.
Lots of renovations under way. Railcar could have been cleaner. We hope the money to be spent will raise the resort to what it should be, which could be something special.
Staying in the old train carriages was wonderful and the whole place had a great, historical feeling to it. Comfortable, clean and friendly. Chattanooga itself was a surprise charm as well.
Strolling in the gardens
The wonderful sign on the roof has half its bulbs blown, this standard is commom throughout this hotel. Didn't tell us about the shuttle bus to the better part of town. NO lift in our block Doors slamming or not closing because dampers not working Breakfast didn't include drinks which meant milk for cereals had to asked for in case anybody took it for drinking!
While the rooms were clean, near downtown
Dated buildings in need of repairs and furnishings cheap. Bed was poor. Reminded of what you would expect from and old Motel 6
