no elevator flooded shower room 404 with pipe noises
The bed. Heating dirty and noisy expensive Need any thing more? The Bed was small, cold air came through the window, the heating was just next to my head so I found my self with a overheated head and freezing legs! I ran away after a day though I paid for days
Given discount vouchers for 1x daily meal a day at restaurant next door which had excellent service
Young receptionist never greeted anyone quite sour, we locked key in room one day took 2hrs for someone to come unlock while we waited sitting on stairs got in 12-30am finally. Room very noisy constant banging of pipes direct behind head of bed throughout night, also walls thin could hear next room every time they used toilet/bathroom also all hours. Radiator heater in room kept making hissing noise also though out night not very safe as extremely hot.
I booked here after a last minute accommodation change. I was in the shared bath and bedroom on the third floor. The room was definitely old but in good shape. Bed was not a five star bed but I can sleep on most things. Bathroom had just been redone and was clean. I think I shared it with 1 other room.
Front desk has limited hours (9-9) so when I needed to check out in morning I was left waiting for the desk to open. Also, there are no elevators to be prepared to carry all your things up stairs.
Very bad wifi reception on the 4th floor, and small beds (very short). There was some mouse poison in a cupboard under a sink, let's hope that was precautionary...
Amazing location right near 5th Avenue & Union Square. Free wifi.
Tired décor, carpet was a bit dirty & towels were very small.
-Location, location, location. -The staff. -La Petite Abeille where you have breakfast.
-Noisy bed (second time) -It's not pristine. I realize this is because of the old building but I think a remodeling is in place.
Location was ideal
checking in was a fiasco. Their credit card system was down. They told me to either come back in a couple hours to check in, or they would take cash. They already had my credit card from booking and wanted my 4 days of staying in cash?? Then they tried putting me in a room with shared bath, after I book studio with room. Things finally got settled, however the late desk person didn't want to give me my cash back when the credit card system was working. Told me to speak with the morning desk clerk if I wanted my cash back. (who was very nice, and apologized.) bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked.
I was most pleased with the staff who very welcoming and accommodating throughout the stay. The room was fine - all the necessities and great value for the money.
I did not dislike anything. And I had no complaints.
Quaint and close to many locations I desired to visit.
The mattress needs replacing - long past its usefulness.
Location was great for exploring and shopping. Lovely cafe next door for breakfasts and late night drinks.
Tons of construction on the street and various deliveries through the night meant interrupted sleep both nights. If you're a light sleeper I would avoid and opt for somewhere quieter!
I loved the location, so close to the Empire state, Rockefeller, and not far from central park.
Trying to sleep wasn't very easy for us. The bed and room were fine but the closed window sounded like it was wide open. We could hear everyone talking and every car go by as if we had a wide open window.
location is excelente ,but I would like to rest 2flor and
street it is noise.
cheap-location was excellent-nice staff-loved having brunchat next door cafe
no elevator for 4th floor?! there was a guy living on 5th floor and he was singing all the time!!! shared bathroom was crazy-3 guys were in next door and they were using the bathroom non-stop!! and making crazy noises at midnight!
Staff was extremely helpful. Convenient for our meeting and easy walk to subway stations. Shared twin room with a friend and while the room was small - the very large closet was a welcomed surprise to keep the suitcases out of the main walking area - Bed was comfortable and nice sheets. Sink in the room was convenient and the full bath was across the hall - with several available on various floors.
While I knew the full bath was in the hall, I have now decided that following another guest in the shower does not work for me. Other potential challenge, typical of these types of hotels, is the narrow and steep stairs - no elevator. If neither of the items above bother you, then stay at Chelsea Inn - everything else was fine.
Walking distance to Union Square to dine & shop.
The bed sheets were not changed on the 1st and only night we stayed. Basically it was a day stopover prior to flying out the next day home to Sydney. The roadside ( in front of Chelsea Inn) had many rubbish bags late in the evening at 7pm. We were waiting outside for our New Jersey friends to go out for dinner.
Bed bugs and so many stairs
Proximity to the West Village ; coffee shop and restaurant adjacent with Belgian Beer and waffles. Very nice. Loved the quiet back room facing courtyard.
Paid cash but a deposit was also taken @ $174. at check-in time out of my VISA in addition to an $80. cash deposit as well as paying cash @ $417. on arrival. Unpleasant.
To stay in Chelsea was a good choice and this hotel is well located near the Chelsea Market, the Union Square, the Fifth ave and Broadway. You hear the noise from the street but it isn't a very crowded one. We had refrigerator in the room and a sink, which was usefull.
We had to share our batheroom with an other room.
Cheap no frills ... Didn't want to waste money on a hotel . Small but acceptable ..
Just small , and dated . But you get what you pay for ... Still pleased we had a great time in NYC .
Bad smell,no elevator, narrow stairs- very difficult to lift luggage, old dirty rooms
Nice place. You dont come into contact with staff. Can come/go easily. Good location for N-S, E-W transport. Comfortable in many respects. Good coffee, brekkie (other meals prob as good but didn't try) next door that the hotel has a deal with.
Try, if poss, to stay in the back room. A low floor facing the road + a construction site next door = no sleep, no fun. Sirens, trash collection and early morning construction delivers and loud handling played heavily in dampening the NYC experience.
Location and price.
The Internet service The phone didn't work The TV cable wire was disconnected
close to subway station
Location and customer service.
Mattresses need to be thrown away, seriously. Bedding very sub-par. Carpet needs to be tossed as well. No coffee maker in room as advertised.
