Loved the Chelsea Pines. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast. Quirky rooms with movie star motifs.
No elevator, so 4th floor room was a bit of a challenge for aging knees. However, it IS New York, where walk ups aren't unusual and staff is proactive in offering to help The only downside is no elevator, so 4th floor room was a bit of a challenge for aging knees. However, it IS New York, where walk ups aren't unusual and staff is proactive in offering to help with bags.
Rooms were nice and clean quirky and fun.
I stayed here in 2010 but have only just managed to write a review!! I loved everything about Chelsea Pines Inn. It was my 21st birthday and my first trip to NYC and they couldnt have made it any better. It was just myself and my mum, they put roses and a birthday card in my room, treated us like we were the only guests in the hotel, as they did every other guest. Recommended the most amazing restaurants around, and some nice local sites. I am counting the days until I can afford to visit again.
There wasn't a single thing I didn't like!
Owners and staff incredibly welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is excellent and the availability of freshly made drinks and snacks all day is a wonderful facility. Location is superb, not only for Chelsea and the High Line but for the subway hub of 14th St.
Loved the warmth, friendliness and service of the owner and staff. They went out of their way to help us. We were lost and overwhelmed without their help. The breakfast was so delightful in their quaint courtyard. Amazing.
The flights of stairs to our room was abit of a pain to do at the end of 10 hours of sightseeing but that was minor for us.
Best location for everything Artistic Designed Room Delicious breakfast & free drinks Good Staff High level Wi-Fi Lovely Charlie "The Cat"
Bad conditioned TV channel
staff could not have been nicer...great breakfast ...cant wait to go back...and Charlie the cat topped it all off...
The accommodation is charming and extremely clean. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are very welcoming and knowledgable. The owner, Jay, made us feel like valued customers and was extremely helpful. I've stayed in several hotels in NYC, including the Waldorf, and this is certainly the best, the benchmark has been set. I'll be visiting again very soon and I know I won't be disappointed.
I can't fault the Chelsea Pines Inn.
Staff Location Felt like coming home B/ fast area with the outdoor tables
After a long day climbing 5 floors on very steep steps! But you are warned.
I stayed at this hotel for a week with my 18 year old son. Everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make us welcome and helped with bookings etc. The breakfast and other refreshments throughout the day were also excellent. The terrace was lovely bonus. The hotel was spotless. The hotel location couldn't be simpler travelling from JFK Airport by metro and airtrain. The hotel sits on the edge of two lovely neighbourhoods so plenty to see within a few minutes walk. Special thanks to Ramel. We will be back!
Nothing at all
Chelsea Inn had great rooms on a beautifull location and great hosts who gives you the "at home' feeling. A great place to stay in the city
The fith Floor ar the and of a long day is a big fysical exercise but not not a real problem
The hospitality was genuine, warm and welcoming. We missed breakfast and the owner made sure we were still taken care of with his delicious home made banana nut bread. He also gave us a goodie bag of coffee mugs to take home. The decor was also very nice it consisted of old Hollywood glamour that was very well thought out and well placed throughout the B&B. A very charming hidden treat in this busy city. I highly recommend.
There was nothing I did not like.
THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFULL, FRIENDLY AND FORTHCOMING ESPECIALLY ALLEN WHO ALSO HAS A FINE SENSE OF HUMOR
friendly and beyond staff. excellent breakfast & lunch snack until 11pm. I checked out at 6am, breakfast isn't ready until 7pm, but they opened it up special for me so we could have something to eat before we left. so very nice. very very clean room. comfy & cozy. 3rd floor, but stairs were just fine. staff carried luggage up to our floor upon check in & refused the tip we offered. at check out they carried our luggage downstairs & this time we made them take the tip. we will definitely without a doubt stay there again. it is away from the hustle & bustle from times square, which in my opinion is so over rated, its not "true" NY at all.
Location, facilities, room, staff
Friendliness of staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable room, movie star themed decor, location to shopping, transport and restaurants.
Nice room, interesting themes, breakfast. I would stay here again.
Room was a bit small and would have liked a longer bed (I am tall).
Wonderful bed & breakfast! Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Nice breakfast. Clean & quiet. Great area of NY to stay in. Highly recommend this hotel!
The exceptional service from the straff, the atmosphere and casual style.
Mangel på grovt brød.
Everything... The perfect place in the best city! Fabulous stay. Thank you Chelsea Pines Inn.
refreshments available all day, location of the hotel, helpfulness of staff
Cannot think of anything in particular
Welcoming team and special attention to detail. They took care of us and our needs even before we arrived with follow up.
The extremely welcoming and friendly staff, the cakes were fab too!!!
The place is in excellent shape and the staff is exceedingly friendly. There was a lot of attention to the details. The small complementary things (such as water and some small things in the kitchen) made life easier for the guest.
The rooms on the fifth floor have a low ceiling - something I personally don't like. The next time, I will ask for a room up to the fourth floor.
