Location is excellent, close to Madison Square Garden and Subway (A,C,E). Clean
Central heating, number of restrooms
Two staff members were polite.
Deafening music played in hallway, TV didn't work, shower ditto. No chair to sit in. I was moved to another room where at least the TV worked but there was a knock on my door at 3AM - the manager had not entered that he had moved me to a vacant room. They charge $5 (cash only) to store each bag. Dirty dirty coffee cart. UGH!!!! They need to get serious about being a hotel.
friendly, perfect location, value for money comfiest bed!!
NOTHING NEGATIVE AT ALL!!!
Nasty Young Male Desk Staff Extremely Tiny Room Impossible, Unsafe High Bed to get in and out with dangerous, sharp edge all around Very few TV Channel Options Paying an extra $100 Security upon arrival for the room in case you damaged it! Threatening sign in room about Not Smoking Steep stairs Very noisy
the room was smaller than tiny, it could hardly fit the bed. the room's description said it had air conditioning. it didn't. instead, it was heated via a central heating system. which was over heated, and I had no control of, so I had to open a window, and try to sleep with 8th avenue noise. staff was incredibly unhelpful with this, and even lied to me when I asked for a room with A/C - telling me they removed all of them, which is clearly a lie, just looking at the hotel from outside - some rooms have A/C, some don't.
The housekeeping staff was friendly, the decor was cool if cheap looking, and the lounge area is cool.
There were cockroaches, 5 rooms share one bathroom, no ice or even a fridge anywhere in the hotel at all, my room was so small i had to walk sideways inside and i hit the tv every time...it was literally a bed and a tv.
Loved the location. It was within walking distance to everything. My friend's first time in NYC and he loved it. Brother jimmys barbq across the street is awesome. Say hi to Derek the bartender.
There really isn't a bad thing to say. We plan on staying there again.
all: location, clean and big double room; in front of madison sq garden. good price
no tiene elevador
Nice big comfy bed in a great location and very reasonable price
Super noisy because my room was on the avenue side and the windows are thin and have air con units in them which lets in sound.
The midtown location near Penn Station is useful for subways, onward travel etc. As budget hotels in Manhattan go this is acceptable but extremely basic
Lobby area and first floor rooms invaded by horrible cooking smells from Subway outlet beneath hotel Reception staff varied in friendliness and helpfulness In my en suite room the hot water never more than tepid and the TV picked up only one channel and that was fuzzy Hotel rooms give on to 8th Ave, so incessant 'white noise' of traffic all day and (nearly) all night
The horrible time for check in.
The hotels location and it's access to many shops & restaurants was great! The king room with it's own bathroom was also fantastic once I figured out the hot/cold water taps were opposite as stated! I would definitely stay there again but only in the king room!
The only thing I didn't like was that the hotel played music all day every day from about 9am daily - that didn't work well with my sleep schedule :/
Location is great. 4 blocks from MSG. Great for young folks who want a good bed for a cheap price near midtown
Shower needs work. Outlet in bathroom didn't work. No outlet. Cheaper rooms have shared bathroom
I like the stuff and location
No parking , small space , shared bathroom
Excellent location Helpful and friendly staff Clean and comfortable bed
NO handrail up steep stairs at entrance NO mirror in bedroom Shared bathroom with more than one other room . I was expecting a 2 to 1 ratio .( This was on the first floor).
good location, fine facilities, everyday morning coffee and tea, a couple of restaurants and bars around
Too much noise and less toilets for guests to use
The location is perfect, The price is affordable and the forniture is new
The wi-fi connection was very bad, some times of the day we couldn't even connect to it. No matter what, every single day at 9 am, the hotel put a very loud music without any consideration tha almost every room has a speaker outside the maindoor and even if it seems that they realized that the music is to loud, they turn the volume down and then turn it up again even louder... I don't know, but I seemed to be in amilitary camp for that reason. Some night we couldn't breathe due to the high temperature in the room, we asked to staff to turn the heat down but it didn't change for both of the times we asked.
Friendly staff Easy access to everywhere Reasonable rate
Under renovation Hairdryer not equipped as advertised
Location is adjacent to Penn Station and convenient. Room had small kitchen and fridge, that was handy. Relatively modern decoration, but dated and broken switches, towel racks...
Basement room with windows opening to street level. Separate from main hotel. Window A/C, requiring shades to be open to get cool air, thus exposing the room to street. No housekeeping done during our stay.
The hotel's location is very convenient and the beds are good.
Manhattan is a very noisy and crowded place. Of course that is not this hotel's fault. But for the price I paid here I do expect a bit of rest at the end of a long day. However, it seems as if no effort was made to reduce the noise in the building. When people are talking in the hallway, it's as if they're right in the room. The general unrest is exacerbated by the background music that plays constantly (why?) I will not choose this hotel again.
God bed, bathroom and service. Near to Penn station, walking distance to Time square. Good price for what you get. No breakfast but next to subway.
- very close to NY attractions - free wifi - complimentary tea and coffee in the morning - the guy helped us carry the luggage to the reception which is on the 1 st floor - they upgraded us to a better room once we complained about the heating
- the room we were given did not have a switch to turn on the heat and we were freezing. The AC was badly designed as there was no way to fully close the window, thus a lot of noise from the street. - there is no place to hang your clothes while changing in the shared bathroom - after we have complained about the cold in the room , we received a better room on the 4th floor. The second day they said the heating system was fixed and we could return to the same room. We did not want to go through the same hassle again and accepted the other choice of paying 30 dollars extra to keep the new room. - the hotel seems to be run by kids with no experience in customer service. - the cleaning lady entered to room on 8 30 am without knocking - you have to pay 5 dollars per luggage to keep them there once you check out
Great position close to Penn station and city bike sharing spot. Nice garden where having breakfast.
The street is very noisy and they have old windows. The staff is not polite or kind. They charge 5$ each bag you leave in storage.
