The location the help the staff provided (question about city,...) cleanliness the other costumer, very easy to make friends (especially with the terrace)

The lack of living room: the terrace outside is great but there is no power outlet, tv or couch.

Wow unbelievable location. Penn station the garden empire state building times square. Staff was truly very considerate and took great care in the appeal of the hotel and the comfort of the guests.

Ive stayed in a lot of hotels in Europe and many other countries, and to tell you the truth considering its location and having in mind that it's NYC I would not pay more than $80 including the taxes and fees and I'm being generous. The room smelled like food all the time. The room didn't have blackout option so the light was on our face in the morning (my wife had to sleep on the floor to keep away from the sun). Extra extra small room. This should me named a hostal instead of a hotel since the bathroom is shared. My suggestion is to pay an extra $20-$30 and stay in a much better place.

Big difference between room facilites

I booked a mix shared room because i booked kind of late but i was given a room with all females so i very much appteciated that. Also, considering that the price i paid was the same as i had paid to stay at HI for a 16 bed room with a group bathroom down the hall, i'd say this was pretty amazing for 4 beds and a full ensuite bathroom. Amongst the best value in NYC for sure. Also i made a non- refundable reservation and thrn because of circumstances i was not able to come. The manager let me change my date so i was so grateful. Very friendly staff and very clean. And the location is ridiculously good, 2 blocks from 34th and 8th where i catch my bus and all the action happens. A+ rating from me.

No where really indoors to eat a meal if you don't want to eat in your room. Unless I missed another common area.

the location was excellent, the staff was very nice, and the room was clean! no evidence of bedbugs.

there was no noise barrier between out room and everyone else. we could hear everything that went on inside and outside the hotel. first night we didn't get much sleep. second night we knew better and got earplugs. the bed was also very noisy. one where just rolling over made a large creaking noise. I would only reccomend this hotel to people that just needed a place to sleep at night. this is not a good location for a romantic getaway.

Dirty sheets, shared bathrooms, a lot of noise coming from the street, couldn't sleep all night because of that!

I booked a single room for 10 days, the hotel staff is neat and very nice and helpful, for several nights the bathroom was lacking toilet paper, and it wasn't that clean. The hotel is located alongside 8th av and is therefore very busy with loads of noise as sirens and honking cars. Nonetheless i'd recommend this hotel for staying.

Lacking of toilet paper in bathrooms.. Especially in mornings. I orderd a cab with a fixed price via the front desk, while I got picked up they gave me a limousine who charger me an additional 10% for using my credit card. áNd I had to pay $20 more than the fixes price. It isn't a nice surprise especially when you're traveling on your own. Far from less I'd rather hopped in a yellow cab. Also, I emailed about hair dryers. Didn't packed mine.. By arrival it wasn't a facility.

When I visit the Manhattan/NYC area, I have always stayed at a hostel and consider myself a budget traveler. I do not need a TV, fancy accommodations, or amenities. However, I have stayed at other hostels in this area recently and would not return to this one. Pros: The area was nice, safe, and in close proximity to popular tourist areas. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful.

The rooms were just too small. When comparing to my last stay in Harlem, that was like an entire apartment/flat compared to this small bedroom. The room here was about 11x7 feet and had two bunk sets (4 beds). It also had a connecting bathroom, but was too dirty for me to use. There was no room for people to place their luggage or even move around. There was no table, chairs or a place to sit. The bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned in a week, or at least since the other room's guests had arrived. Housekeeping did visit during my stay but only replenished items and did not clean the toilet, sink, floor or tub. In the future, I will stay in another Hostel that is much cleaner, has more room to move around, even though it is a bit further from the main tourist areas.

I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the architecture of the buildings. I also enjoyed all the foreign travelers. I also enjoyed the smallness of the room, the location was close to china town and there was very good accessibility to everything I needed.

We were there for a dog show at msg so the Location was great and price was great to. It nothing special but it save as a ton of cash.

Our room was next to the smoking terrace and so we woke up many time during the night with people partying, talking loudly and one night even crying and having a fight over phone. We know those weren't your fault but that was the only negative thing about our stay.
