bright, big clean room, shared living room and kitchen, felt like at home. Brett is very helpful.
The location. It is in Harlem in a quiet place but close to everything. The apartment was clean, has lot of space and was comfortable.
Friendly and informative representative (Bert) text on arrival and took us through the use of apartments. Helpful local advice on getting to downtown, as well as local facilities.
Area a bit noisy on a morning! But then it's a busy city.
Spacious apartment. Comfortable and clean. Owner gave good advice. Well located for travel to downtown Manhattan.
Hot water was ok but sometimes didn't last. In residential area close to centre of Harlem but away from tourist areas that provide feeling of safety.
We were upgraded to an appartment. Very near to subway stations with lines connecting to Manhattan.
Personal is very nice
The host is super friendly, polite and considerate. He ringed me the day before and informed me about the transportation. He also spent his time telling me the entertainments around Manhattan. The Chic&Budget is clean and affordable in price.
Area can be dangerous even close to the metro statıon. Very very hard to find, even at night a taxi from the center, especially at night if I'm in a bar attached hard return. Overall this is harlemm ;)
One of the best accommodation bookings ive ever made. Highly recommended
The first thing is Bert. What a helpful person. Facilities are enough for ones needs and the pricing from what I saw in New York was also fair, accommodation seems very expensive so this was one of the cheaper options. It was fairly easy to get to and from the city and the Metro service was $30 unlimited for a week. On the walk to the metro there are restaurants and pubs which makes it convenient. The area felt safe enough and if like me you come from SA you will find no problems. I will say I was back by midnight everyday. But overall it was a great experience to stay in Harlem.
The taxi fair from JFK was exorbitant. Including tolls and tip around $70 each way. I would suggest that you use the airtrain and the metro. It's fairly easy but will require a few changes at Jamaica and Penn. you can save a lot of money this way.
I like everything' about this hotel actually feel like home more than hotel.
The staff was friendly and accommodating as far as greeting and making flexible arrangements for check-in and check-out; the location, though not itself great, was located close to the subway It had ac
The apartment building was surrounded by boarded up buildings, and most importantly, the amenities were very poor - the linens were not fresh or of good quality, there was no bath mat, etc. The bed was not very comfortable. The price was equivalent to a nice hotel but there were no perks for a short stay. (Perhaps for a longer stay the extra futons, flat screen Tv and kitchen may have been more useful).
Bert, he takes 30 minutes with us to plan our stay and gives up the best adresses in town. Our room was really comfortable, apartment is fully furnished. Ideal location
Burt was very nice and helpful, the rooms are clean.
Bert (the owner) was so friendly and welcoming and gave us some great top tips for places to visit that we may not have discovered on our own - he even supplied a map with pinpointed sights on it and asked us what we were hoping to see. There was proper ground coffee provided for the perculator and the apartment itself was fantastic - clean, cool, well stocked, comfortable with TV, wifi and even a docking station for your I-Pod! The apartment was near to lots of great local facilities - 24 hour stores, restaurants, a couple of bars and the subway was 3 minutes walk (green line for high speed trains to East Manhattan) or 5 minutes (red line for West Manhattan) so it was really easy to get around. Despite its reputation, Harlem was no more or less threatening than any other urban suburb and we didn't feel so nervous walking about the area - I guess this is just down to what you're used to back home (urban England can be a whole lot worse!) Bert was also amazingly flexible - on the last day he let us leave our luggage in the apartment until later than the check out time so we didn't have to lug them around NYC all day! Thanks so much, Bert, and we'd totally recommend you to our travelling friends.
The apartment is some distance above the core sights of Manhattan and so it wasn't always possible to get back to the flat for a change of clothes post going out in the evening, especially when visiting further away areas like Brooklyn. Don't let this deter you though - if you're looking for an awesome apartment in NYC you won't find one better priced.
Burt was very.accomodating and helpful. On check-in gave me a map of city & subway info. Answered any questions I had. the area was very well let me and I had no problem walking from the subway. I liked having access to the kitchen made coffee and hot tea. They had necessary dishes. Enjoyed visiting with other guests in the common areas. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Can't really think of anything I didn't like would love it if they had an elevator but I knew they didn't and chose to stay there anyway.
Location to Riverside Church and Harlem in general. The property manager was very friendly and efficient. If we had a request or problem he responded in a timely manner. Property was clean, and equipped with cleaning supplies. Comfortable bed.
No cable beside public access stations. No elevator, but it is a brownstone after all. Noise from the street traffic (would've been annoying if I didn't have PM Tylenol to knock me out).
The host is super friendly, he ringed me the day before and informed me about the transportation. He also spent his time telling me the entertainments around Manhattan. The living area and bed room are very big, also warm and comfortable. Overall, this is definitely an awesome place to stay :)
