The location was excellent! Close to everything - restaurants and 10 mins bus ride to the core downtown. Also, it was one of the cheapest hotels in Chicago (although not worth the price for the condition of the room) The room I had was terrible! Bed linens were not clean, rotten mattress, dirty and dull carpet, scratched and beaten down furniture. This is what you get for living in one of the cheapest hotels in Chicago.

Simplicity and cleanliness. The location is perfect. The price noted on the internet (booking.com) did not include taxes. That made a rather high price in the end...

No rooms were ready at 6:00pm due no housekeeping staff. About a dozen guests had to wait over an hour to check-in. As a result I was late tingtingto a dinner meeting. Will never stay there again. Could have checked in at the hotel across the street but the booking.com customer service rep said I would have to pay for the room after he called the hotel and was told the rooms would be ready any minute.

Price was great deal! Well, I thought it would be great one, but it wasn't that good. I have chosen a none smoking room, but the problem is when I go to the restroom, I smell the smoking maybe it comes from the next room. Also, when you are on your way to the room, you will smell alcoholic everywhere. I don't recommend this hotel.

I liked only its location which is close to the bus station and the metro station. I've stayed in the third floor. The hotel is very noisy for many reasons, first many people used the stairs in the third floor and so the noise which is coming from the closing and opening the door is unaffordable and can easily wake you up during the night. Second you can easily hear noise from the rooms next to you. Third you can hear noises from the outside street because of the window (plus the ambulance of course). Both furniture and the building are very old and need a lot of maintenance. The water pressure in the bathroom is very low especially the shower plus the hot water is not working well (you can't easily mix the cold water and the hot water). To sum up, I would pay twice the price I payed for this one to get to another hotel nearby.

The only complaints was at the check in. I arrived to the hotel app at 11:00 am after a trip of 15 hors by airplane. I asked at the front desk to make the check in and the person who was there was very upleasent to tell me in an english that was dificault for me to understand that he was making checkout at this time and I must come back at 3 pm. When I came back at this time the room was not still ready and I have to wait another time. Was not a nice welcome to the hotel. The rest was ok.

Maintenance response was fast enough. I was given a $12,00 discount for the leaks' inconvenience. The kitchennette ceiling was leaking like an open faucet with cracks on the ceiling that shows the problem has been there for a very long time and was never fixed. The reception desk was not warm nor friendly.

The location was perfect for Soldier Field and the staff was very friendly. There could have been more onsite food/beverage options.

It was close to the Hilton the headquarters for the convention I was attending. The noise from the street and the heater during the night. They turn off the heater until nighttime. The rooms are depressing.

The cost of the room was very reasonable. The proximity of the location to the shopping areas and the major conference centers and other areas of tourist interest. The room cleaning service could have been better. Beds were not made nor the floors cleaned each day.

This hotel provides good quality at an exceptionally reasonable price. Double rooms are larger than normal, although singles are on the small side. While the windows could use an upgrade and elevators are "vintage", the hotel is kept clean and attractive. On-site, basic food service and adjacent parking are plusses. Location is also excellent, a block from Michigan Ave across from the middle of Grant Park.
