I booked my stay online through booking.com. When prompted I selected a non smoking room. Once arriving at th hotel I was given a smoking room and told that "booking online does not guarantee your preferences". Instead of being accommodating, the staff was very defensive in telling me that I chose "non smoking preferred" (the only option was "smoking preferred") and that the word preferred does not mean that I would definitely get my choice. The room was smelly and disgusting and only after 2 hours and 2 calls downstairs was our room changed. The staff member at the front desk also told me that "housekeeping was pissed" because we took a shower in the first room before we were moved- only after we were told that the hotel was booked so we didn't think we had a choice but to stay in the nasty room.

Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Outstanding value. My wife left an iPhone charger plugged in the wall and was disappointed that it wasn't turned in by cleaning staff. However, they may have simply not seen it.

The night clerk was excellent. I arrived rather late, expecting 2 beds. The room had one. My mistake on booking. He handled very, very well. Breakfast items were not well supplied - guests had to wait for eggs, sausage, ....
