It is a dump.
The front desk staff (a family?) was friendly and accommodating. The room was OK, good clean bed, desk, sink, floor. The breakfast muffins in the lobby very fresh, but no fruit some reported. Free WIFI in place. 15 min walk to Convention Center, 7-8$ taxi ride if you're late, otherwise nice walk there. This is a motel, compared to the high-cost hotels around - good compromise for a downtown stay on a moderate budget.
The rubber mat in the bathtub was pretty old, giving impression of it being dirty.. Hope they sanitize it well. The top shelf in the closet dusty. If breakfast is important part of the stay for you, this is not the best part of it (but I didn't care, I enjoyed the muffin and coffee).
The staff was very understanding about refunding the remaining nights of my reservation, and there were no bedbugs.
The bathroom walls were deteriorating; the drains were clogged. When doors of neighboring hotel rooms were opened and shut, the noise was very loud because the walls were not very thick. Anyone walking by the building had access to the doors to the rooms and there were a few people loitering in the area, so I worried that someone would break into my room.
It smelled like urine on the outside of the room. I had to pay for parking The breakfast was bad, not even butter. Noisy at night. I did not feel safe. No towels in the bedroom, I had to request at the front desk.
Location and price
Mattress hard and old. Carpet sticky. Only 2 towels. No bath mat. be careful with their breakfast. One person felt sick from drinking milk which was left outside all morning. well, you get what you paid for. But if current pictures were posted on booking.com, I would know not to there.
We're still alive.
The price of the room did not include parking, so we had to pay extra for that. Then, when we went out for a couple of hours and came back, the parking lot was full and the staff couldn't help us either finding another parking spot or refunding us for that day's parking. Internet is slow, breakfast is very limited (corn flakes with or without color additives and some donuts), and the room needed an update. No bath mat but a piece of paper, and the security swing on the door wasn't screwed in properly. Someone apparently tried to force the door in the past... So much for feeling safe! Lots of people walking around the inn and talking loudly at night too. Would not recommend at all.
* Staff was courteous and prompt with concerns * Cheapest stay in the area
* Key card did not work consistently * The room was not clean (e.g. scraps of toilet paper on the bathroom floor when I walked in) * Bathroom door did not physically fit into the frame, so was always open * The breakfast did not have so much as muffins or bagels or juice or anything even an Econolodge offers (just cereal and tiny stale donuts)
We were very close to downtown Charlotte, many things to do, walking distance to various nightlife activities. Bed was very comfortable.
Outside of the hotel was a little rough, room was basic, bathroom leaky and unfinished.
Everything. The last time I saw a TV like that, was about 20 years ago. There are permanent residents.
It was within a decent walking distance from the stadium, just over a mile so didn't have to worry about getting out of a lot after.
There was no shower curtains and the room was missing light bulbs. There was a sign on the desk saying we'd be charged if it wasn't reported within 15 minutes so we made sure to and there wasn't an offer to replace the curtain or bulbs. After our key stopped working after the game we were there for she offered to let us switch rooms but at that point we just wanted to go to bed. You practically had to body slam the door to open or close it and it made a horribly loud noise. Turns out the AC didn't work properly and we were either burning up or freezing cold.
The hotel is run down not clean and overall not a good place to stay. You have to pay to park in their lot which is not secure either. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.
Bathroom facilities were bare
cheap feeling broken ice machines minimal free breakfast
location was fantastic. 10 minute walk from Epi Center, science museum, other bars, etc.
old/run down rooms, very hard to unlock door (we had to try 10+ times to swipe every time we wanted to open door), hard bed, ac unit kept cycling off and on which woke me up every time cycle changed
The room rate was very reasonable compared to other downtown hotels and the bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was outdated and did not meet our requirements. We moved out after the first night and went to a better hotel.
Nothing. The pictures are deceiving. Lady at front desk was pleasant.
Bugs in the bed, drugs under the bed. Left early after finding another location.
Too close to the high way. Sound proof is not very good. Too much noise! It is hard to fall in sleep.
Location is excellent and close to epicenter and concert venues, etc.
Definitely a place where you get what you pay for. Not the nicest place, but for a one night stay, the price was right and it was sufficient.
The location was very convenient to the downtown. The cost was decent.
There was a charge for parking. The people next to us were arguing in the middle of the night and kept slamming doors. All we heard was cussing for 3.5 hours. The walls were too thin. The faucet leaked in our shower. The tissue box had 1 tissue in it. The toilet paper roll in the bathroom was used and down almost to the rim, I dont know who used that before we came in.
Price & location! Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.
Clean, very friendly staff.
Pool advertised hasn't even been opened this year and that the sole reason we chose this hotel. Ghetto, Ghetto, Ghetto! They stand on the property in the driveway every night. We had to walk by them every time to get to our room it was very frightening. Not sure why the staff doesn't ask them to leave. The walls are very thin we could hear not only sirens but people yelling outside. The "free" breakfast is stale fruit loops and corn flakes and small dried out chocolate donuts. No drinks only coffee.
Price Location Very helpful and welcoming staff
A/C didn't work very well in my room
