This San Antonio, Texas hotel offers on-site dining at the Ventana's Bistro. The San Antonio River Walk is within walking distance of the hotel.
Score from 177 reviews Very good
Great budget hotel right on the outskirts of downtown (about 4 blocks from the Riverwalk district, but like most things in Texas, the blocks are bigger than expected), across the street from the Amtrak station, and up the street from the Alamodome. Super clean facilities, friendly staff, well-appointed room (ironing board + mini fridge), free unlimited Wifi, very comfortable and relaxing. The hotel isn't really geared towards family (no kitchen facilities, dining area, or pool) so it was mostly adults and quieter as a result. I would definitely stay here again.
Not a ton of restaurants around the area, so you'll have to either walk to the Riverwalk district for food or have something delivered (and luckily there are a ton of great delivery places). Because it is close to the Amtrak station you can hear the train and its horn when it comes and goes, but it was never at ungodly hours (depending on how late you sleep in, I guess) and actually became my alarm clock in the morning.
clean room, minus A/C
Parking not ample, no continental breakfast. Closest McDonald's w parking lot was full of homeless people and a security guard on standby. A/C in our room smelled of mold, so couldn't use it. Cooler night temps outside were nice, but couldn't open window to cool room. (Hotel full, so couldn't change rooms) Beware of sales tax! 16% added to hotel bill. All things considered, pay the extra and stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the street.
Close to amenities
cleaning staff was very loud couldn't sleep it was early in the morning
The rooms were very clean & nice location
For the cost, no breakfast availability, Wi-Fi was down, not enough Parking, but I guess parking along street/curb side was not too bad.
I like the location and overall the room
The location and distance to the alamodome.
No lobby, the parking is very tight, only 1 car per room, not close to any restaurants.
We came for the Girls State Basketball Tournament and the close proximity to the Alamodome was perfect! Just a 5 minute walk. The staff was very helpful and courteous! Would definitely stay here again!
City view Inn is a great place to stay. I've always passed it up when using hotel locating sites. I will always book my stay at City View when I come to San Antonio.
There was nothing I didn't like.
I liked that the manager was very nice. A mistake was made with my room and he was very nice to handle it for me in a polite manner
That whole staff was not knowing about my situation and the guy who worked Saturday was very very rude and even hung up in my face when trying to explain that it was a managers mistake as to why I had to switch rooms.
Perfect if you're going to the Alamodome. Easy walk from hotel to Alamodome. All staff were nice and helpful. Will stay again if going back to Alamodome for an event.
The staff was extremely accommodating, letting me part until 11:00 pm on the day I left for home. The location was perfect for the Alamodome, and an easy, safe walk from downtown.
No problems whatsoever.
New hotel, clean, easy access, free parking. A little bit of a walk to river street
No pool or workout room (can go to sister hotel). No breakfast.
The room was great as was the proximity to the river walk.. The Showers were incredible and the room was very clean.
The price was a little high for what it was. if it had been $130-150 instead of $173 and I would've felt a little better about it.
No food, sacks, etc..... Bed a little too soft.
I like the location, good value for money, though away from downtown, It was ok for me. I like the staff too, they were quite helpful. The lady directed me to Denny's for breakfast and was willing to tell me more about San antonio
The first night wasnt good, they werent unable to charge me ( because my card declined payment) and they didnt even call me. Thank God there was a spare room becasue my room was gone already
It is very close to amtrak station which was very convenient for us
That doesnt have breakfast area
It was Close to Downtown, staff was Great and helpful and the bars where just a block away lived our stay here
They did not have a kitchen area but over all the place was great
I didn't like that there was no breakfast
It was right on the outside skirts of downtown.
The parking was horrible very little parking for the hotel I had to park in a no parking zone and the front desk person watched my truck all night so that they wouldn't tow it. But she was nice enough to do that. That's the only thing I didn't like.
Very clean and quiet. Good value and convenient location to downtown and Riverwalk.
Only sheet and thin blanket on bed. Had to keep heat running all night. The outdoor temp was in the 30s. Coffee brand in the room is not good. Coffee was not drinkable.
Had such a lavish King size suite, and my experience was amazing.
walking distance to riverwalk and alamodome
nothing - everything was great!
Bathroom was dirty Pillows were the worst I ever slept on
