Clarion Hotel & Casino  

This hotel is a great value, perfect for business at the lv Convention Center, and convenient to the strip. The hotel is only about 250 yards from the main entrance to the convention center. The internet is free and was fast enough that I could Skype as well at lower quality. I believe there was also a business room with a computer and printer. The rooms also have refrigerators and coffee makers - two things you usually won't find at any of the big casinos. The bed was soft and comfortable with 3 different pillows to choose from. The bathroom had been recently renovated and was very nice. The room itself was old and yes, the carpet had some stains, but overall it was properly cleaned an maintained. I stayed in a room with one queen, but it was the same size as a room with two queens - meaning there was tons of space. There was also a business desk with comfortable leather executive arm chair. During the week they offered a breakfast of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage or bacon for $5.55. Of course there were other breakfast items on the menu. On Saturdays and Sundays there was a small but reasonable breakfast buffet for $9.99. Considering how much more you'd pay at the big casions I was amazed more people didn't take advantage of it. There is also a small pool and jacuzzi open 24 hours. Looked nice enough, but was rarely being used. Finally, the strip is only 350 yards in the other direction and at the corner there's a Walgreen's, Ross Clothes, a Denny's, 3 or 4 local restaurants, a 7-11 and a couple souvenir shops. If you walk a little more on the strip there are more restaurants of course and then the big Fashion Show Mall with food court and department stores, etc. I'd also comment that the hotel was generally very quiet. I've stayed at the mgm, Excalibur, Bill's and the Flamingo. They kill you with their extra resort fees and fees for internet and everything else.

No complaints. If they replaced the carpet I think the repeat business would soar through the roof because the carpet would be the only thing I could think of to go on a minus list.

Quite close to the Strip

The hotel was very tied looking and not particularly clean. The two internal lifts smelt terrible - someone had urinated in them. The maintenance appeared to be behind - light bulbs missing, switches faulty and we felt that we needed to wear our shoes in our room as the carpet looked unclean and possibly infested. No upgrading has been done for many years.

The hotel is cheap, clean and just a walking distance to the Strip. The room is nice, though outdated. A small casino is right in the building. Free wifi, easy parking.

It's on the edge of waling distance to mgm. So if you have a show on the other side of the Strip, book a hotel which is closer to that place. No breakfast.

Hotel is ok, concerning the amount of 25 usd for a room with refridgerator and aircondition. Clean.

Short distance to the Las Vegas Strip

1. Poor overall performance: obsolite, needs a good lift-up! Carpets full of spots, at some places sigarets burns. Dirty entrances elevators.No clean blanket. After 6 (!) inspected rooms found in an upgrade room something "worthwhile".

Close to the strip.

We got a non smoking room even though we asked for smoking. No hotel shuttle.

Staff was very helpful and nice. Bed was comfy as well. Close to convention center.

Lobby smells like smoke. It's a small casino. Very average. Recommend if your on a budget

We got it at a reasonable price at last minute.

We found two roaches crawling on the ground, and there were numerous marks on the carpet.

We liked that the pool was open 24 hours.

I don't consider a few slot machines a casino.

The hotel was much nicer and more spacious than expected. We were pleasantly surprised. They were pretty accomodations and price was definitely reasonable

The room service to get more towels, etc was very slow. The ice machines were all broken so we had to go to the bar in our pjs to get ice. They only maade one bed when cleaning

Very close to the las vegas strip, excellent location for touring around the city and casinos. Our room was clean, staff friendly, and the price is very good.
