nice big rooms. very well decorated & comfortable. Very helpful staff. The rooftop lounge was the best feature.

the gym could be open sooner than 0700AM. 0600 would be more workable for those of us on the usual 0800 work starting time.

Good size bedrooms, staff very accomodating and friendly.Good location for shopping and resturants. Near cable car turning.

Bathroom was a bit small, quite a long way from the main attractions, but public transport was good.

Two different booking agents leads to confusion on reservations- misleading Bar tv no hd ? Bartenders attitudue ?

I loved the spacious bedroom and the complimentary drinks on the top floor. Besides, this hotel is exceptionally well-located in central San Francisco, within walking distance of many major attractions and all the main shops. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was included in the room rate, but the options were rather limited: perhaps they should consider including cereals and toast rather than just pastries... Other than that, everything was fine!

Beautifully appointed and well staffed old hotel close to shopping and cultural events.

I would not recommend this hotel to people who like to sleep. Street noise so loud (even from 14th floor) that we had to use earplugs.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect - very close to Union Square and its shops and tram and cable car stops. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room spacious and comfortable.

We never ate or drank in the hotel, as we considered the prices high. We did consider attending 'happy hour', but the noise of the piano/ jazz entertainers was overpowering.

Felt slightly uneasy when after checking in we were told to go to another desk and receive our 'welcome' pack - very friendly guy but basically they ask you to attend a seminar, which is a timeshare selling spiel, we didn't attend but did feel a little pushed to!

Helpful staff, lovely large room, great location and use of club lounge. The free Wi-fi was a great bonus.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. Room was large, clean and comfortable.

The rooms are quite large if facing south, though a bit dated. Beds are comfortable and well equipped. Staff is super-friendly and helpful (though we required little help since this trip was for a conference in the city). Very well located and better value for money than the other big hotels around. And one of the nicest things is the club floor on the top with free coffee and tea - very nice to have this in the middle of the city.

Bathrooms are very small and the elevator can be slow at times. The rooms are a bit old overall, but the amount of space makes up for this.

We were very impressed with the service we received. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room was spacious, decore very tasteful and a pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing and shopping. The location was excellent. The club room had an inviting atmosphere and again staff very friendly. the coffee was good too.

I would recommend Club Donatello to anyone visiting San Francisco looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable, centrally located, safe and upper end place to stay

We had no complaints other than we asked for a wake up call that was not received. This could have caused a serious problem since we were flying out that morning. Compared to the wonderful service we received, though, it was a minor inconvenience.

Location is awesome have to admit, is just a block away Union Square which is beautiful... Location!!! A little bit expensive but quite good, very clean Jacuzzi at the top of the hotel (but only for 3 people, had to wait a bit).

They gave us the room 1119 which is one of the worst (I believe all the 19th´s rooms in each floor are very bad). This is cause the housekeeping storage room is right in front of these room and the housekeeping staff open, close doors and make lots of noise each morning... They start at 6am!! Not fair...!!! The most impressive thing is that we complained at the front desk and they told us: "you might be sensitive..." no comments to this..!!! I thought they were going to change us but no... Unreal...!!

I loved the location. it is a beautiful hotel. We also enjoyed the speakers the club room, the wine and cheese is a nice touch.

Room was to a very high standard, plenty of towels, comfortable bed? Was luxurious compared to the Westin Seatle which was more expensive.

Reception staff inefficient on check in. Did not allocate rooms in an appropriate manner. It was a big let down. We arrived early on an over night train. We knew check in was not until 3pm but we notified reception on our arrival and stored luggage. When we came back at 3pm we still had to wait to see if our room was ready. The reception staff told us to wait while trying to contact house keeping. So we waited ,,, he never came over, I had to go back 20 minutes later.. He was then oh yes I have the keys here? So why keep us waiting in the lobby? Very inefficient and unprofessional.
