The breakfast was simple-nothing exciting! Do not expect an upscale
buffet experience. It is a budget breakfast buffet experience. The bed
in the room was comfortable, however, the walls were paper thin and I
could hear everything that a group of four women in the room were
saying!! Was more interested in what they were saying than going to
sleep. Got moved to another room the next night, partly because of the
noisy neighbors, but mostly the freeway noise. The second day, In the
late afternoon I was talking on my cell phone and the man in the room
next to me started pounding his fist on the wall for me to shut up!!
This was in the late afternoon!! When people should be awake.- I was
shocked, especially with what happened to me the night before. The
second night I slept well on a comfortable bed, but I think this was due
mostly from not sleeping at all the night before. I lost one of my ear
plugs on the the first night, and this drove me crazy! I would have
scored this hotel for an average three star hotel. The staff were really
nice. The purpose of my stay was for a conference, so the room was
expensed. However, I do not think that I would stay here and pay for it
out of my own pocket considering the price point for what I paid.
Unfortunately, room rates in Seattle are rather pricey, so you may not
have much choice for inexpensive accommodation depending on the time of
year and any events currently going on.
The location is excellent for attending conferences at the Meydenbauer
Conference Center. The front desk staff are very good and the older lady
at the front desk is outstanding -full commendation for her superb
attention. The manager was helpful to get me a room on the side away from
the freeway. I am sensitive to noise and the first night I did not sleep
because of the freeway noise. Unfortunately, when staying in Seattle and
vicinity, which I have done so on other occasions, it seems to be the
norm, that those rooms adjoining/ facing the freeway will be
noisier. They offered free wine tasting in the late afternoon from 5-6
P.M. Three wines were offered and the one I tried was excellent, and the
lady did not mind me having seconds!
