The breakfast and afternoon refreshments were very nice. We were in room #1 which was adjacent to the ice machine. There was a sound all night long of water running which I attributed to the ice maker. We would not stay in this room again.

The quaintness of this boutique hotel. The wine reception was quite nice as was the continental breakfast. The flowers were in bloom and the fragrance of the jasmine growing up the trellis was intoxicating. Its a beautiful place. The front desk manager gave us a nice recommendation on an authentic Mexican restaurant...very good. No ac in the room, although they provide a fan to plug in.

Comfortable, cute rooms. Great breakfast. They gave us a bottle of wine because we were unable to stay for afternoon wine and cheese the day we left! Wifi was weak in my room, but fine in the lobby. No work-out room, but a walk down to the beach was beautiful.

Cookies, coffee always there. Wine and snacks in afternoon. Sherry, cookies in early evening. Gas fireplace almost essential. Comfy bed. Bed turndown with rose and chocolate. Fan in bathroom. Window in bathroom that opened. Garden areas nice. Lighting was low. Man had chocolate but skipped our room twice. Breakfast nice but waffles cold, quiche cold. Pizza bread better than bean dip first nite but it was cold also. Shower was a little hard to adjust, not very strong. Tv needs updating-flat screen over fireplace would be good.

It was very comfortable, clean, and quite with easy access to the rest of town. We will stay there again. I thought reception could have been better - the person(s) at the front desk never even looked up when we walked in the door - in fact - we had to get their attention.

Location is good. Tl;dr There was loud noise from the heater that kept us awake the entire night! Hotel staff did nothing to help us. Stay away from this place. When we arrived at the room, there was a loud noise from the heater. We notified reception immediately, hotel employee asked us to fiddle with the thermostat and that they can't change our room because they're fully booked. The problem continued and we asked for help again - this time the lady at the reception said she''ll check with the maintenance guy. Nothing happened. The noise continued the entire night, waking us up every 20 minutes. In the morning the lady at the reception said it was too late to call the maintenance guy, there's nothing she can do and gave me the manager's email. I emailed the manager - no response in two weeks. Basically they don't care about their guests. Your room is probably going to be fine and the heater will not make noise - but I don't recommend staying at a place like that. If you end up having a problem - they hotel staff will not help you.

The free wine and coffee. This place should be demolished. A 13" computer monitor for a T.V. was ridiculous. Outdated, noisy ,uncomfortable, outdated, overpriced, old furniture , outdated, noisy. We were on the bottom floor in a king suite. The room above us had their jacuzzi running all night. Then at 9:30 in the A.M. it felt like an earthquake was going on because of the shaking from the laundry below us.Absolutely no response from management for compensation on this disaster of an Inn. Stay away from this dump.

The breakfast was very good! The location Is nice, you can walk to any restaurant or shop. We were sleeping in the room unde the stairs and the noise from people coming up or down was terrible, and started early. So if you happen to go don't stay in room one if you are sensible to this noises.

The room was cozy, quaint, warm, and charming. The fireplace added to the romance. I personally like the fact that there was no 50 inch flat sreen TV staring me in the face and laughed out loud when I finally found the 18 inch TV tucked in a cupboard in the corner (I certainly didn't come to Carmel to space out in front of a sitcom). The staff was friendly and helpful. We were too late to enjoy the evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, but the breakfast of quiche, fresh cut fruit, home-baked muffins, good coffee and juice was delightful. Take advantage of the evening turn-down service. Returning to my room to find a fresh red rose on the bed along with chocolates was a nice touch. At their spring rate, this was an affordable, romantic get away. I will stay here again. The bathroom, though clean, was in much need of an inexpensive remodel--a new toilet would do the trick. Also, the bed, which was very comfortable, was draped with a comforter that must have weighed 30 pounds. The room was warm, so I stopped struggling with it and dumped it on the floor.

Breakfast area and food were well kept and well prepared. Friendly helpful staff. Room was small and has had some haphazard maintainance done to it. Dry wall screws were used to hang T.P. dispenser, towel racks, and hinges on some cabinets. Opening door to T.V. cabinet caused the T.V. to slide forward and almost land on the floor. Room was repainted at some time and has paint splashed and applied to bathroom tiles and fixtures.

The outside of the property was very charming and quaint. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very drafty and quite spartan in decor. The television was small and the controls were cumbersome. The breakfast selection was limited.
