The location is great, breakfast was good
They used to serve homemade muffins for breakfast and had homemade cookies in the evening. That was absent and we used to get a newspaper delivered to our door. Rooms are getting a little rough around the edges. Staff was great. Parking is limited.
The Inn Keeper was very helpful with recommendations and making reservations and had an in depth knowledge of the area. The breakfast was excellent.
Parking was often a challenge during the day.
The hotel is so cozy. The room was very confortable, decoration makes you feel at home. And even if it was summer, it was nice to have the fireplace in the room (we tried it and it was wonderful). The staff was very kind, in the room as well as in the reception and the bar. Something we enjoyed a lot was the wine tasting in the afternoons: nice to have a glass of wine and some cheese in front of the fireplace. Location is very convenient, at walking distance from main street and restaurants, and even the beach, for wonderful sunsets. I would definitely come back and recommend the Cobblestone Inn!
Parking inside is not enough and sometimes you have to park in the street. Fortunately in this street there are no parking meters. Room on the first floor was nice, but it is good to consider it if you carry heavy luggage.
Location was very good
Only parking for about 4 vehicles, otherwise street parking
Like the location to Carmel Plaza and Ocean Avenue Free wifi
Don't like the price Noisy Room is tiny and old fashion
Close to village.
Bathroom small. Only stall shower. Hard to control hot and cold water.
lovely breakfast, cosy patio.
No air conditioning, had to open windows.
Location is very good, the room was clean and we had a warm reception.
No air cond'. The room was hot at night.
Liked the pleasant, down home feel and the constant small touches of delightful refreshment. Breakfast, wine & cheese/food treat in evening plus beverages & occasional cookie treat - all in the pleasant lobby/breakfast area by the welcoming fireplace.
Some may find the quaint charm a little different from so many places - but appealing to us.
Room was too warm, even with window open.
The quiet, the shower, the great internet connection.
Same breakfast every morning. Not enough food. Smallish room for the money.
Staff was friendly, turn down service.
No facilities to speak of. No coffee in the room and the room could use some updating - paint on the wall was chipped. Bathroom was tiny and needed updating.
Yummy breakfast Gorgeous landscaping Great location
Rooms are small Old bathrooms Too many children running around and crying
Staff help, assistance, friendliness, room comfort, general ambiance, and the location - rural feeling near the centre of town, Carmel is a really nice place.
breakfast could have been better
We had a very small room, but it was clean, neat and tidy. Loved the atmosphere, full breakfast in the morning and wine and appetizers at night. It was great.
Perfect romantic Inn, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Wonderful staff, breakfast was very good. Complimentary wine at night was a pleasant surprise.
Water pressure in the shower, but that's about it.
Location and friendliness of staff. Breakfast provided but, cold!
Poor parking...only 4 spots then street only when tourists leave after 5 pm. Old and musty smell with well worn furniture, toilets, etc. Would not accommodate children without upgrading to a $300+ fee for one night. Picture on line and parking available was misleading.
The room was extremely cold. Two space heaters were brought in and all circuit breakers went out. Restored shortly. The bathroom was so small and trying to go from bath to bed to retrieve toiletries around the bathroom door was very frustrating. I am small so I can't imagine a large person having a comfort level with this small space. Shower water surging from hot to cold. Would never stay here again.
It is very hard to park.
Great place to stay. The breakfast was great
Charming building and grounds; beautiful landscaping; great location; love windows that open in room - both in main part and in bathroom; comfortable bed and nice size room with fireplace (note - bathroom was small, but no problem for me as a solo traveler); breakfast was perfectly fine with plenty to offer (in my opinion)
Big problem for me at end of my stay -- they hadn't adjusted their automated wake-up phone service for dst thus causing me to wake up an hour later than planned! I had to race around packing and eating quickly in order to make a pre-paid group hike that I arranged in Big Sur. As soon as I discovered this and was checking out, I informed the desk clerk - who really didn't care. In fact, she didn't even know that they offered the service in the first place! No offer to adjust my bill or anything else to compensate for my rush and practically no breakfast.
Great location in Carmel. Easy access and parking. Enjoyed the breakfast and staff are all very friendly.
The host and wine service
Not enough. Time
cleanliness of room; awesome staff; excellent location; fireplace in room; wine and cheese in PM; daily breakfast, which was great! Will definitely stay there again!!
squeaky floors and a "moaning" from pipes(not sure what ones). I prefer a coffee maker in room.
