Located in the heart of Midcoast Maine, where every room overlooks Penobscot Bay.
Score from 90 reviews Excellent
In Belfast, this motel features free Wi-Fi and rooms with a flat-screen cable TV and air conditioning. Passagassawakeg River is 2 miles away. All rooms at Yankee Clipper Motel have classic décor.

Being in Belfast, close to the ocean is always a treat. The bathroom was nicely remodeled.
The railing somewhat obstructed the view from the balcony. Walking to the beach made me feel like I was going through someone's private property, as the "route" was not clearly defined. We did hear others' use of the plumbing quite often.
What a delightful little cabin, very close to the shore. We awoke to the gentle sounds of a squirrel dropping nuts on the cabin roof, which alerted us to a wonderful rosy dawn along the horizon. Then we went back to sleep! The heating was effective when needed.
Beautiful setting with private deck. Staff very helpful and friendly
Location is not far from anywhere but not actually close either. Beds are old and feel a little disgusting. Decor is dated and feels musty
2nd stay for is @ CG. Was extra nice of them to give us a free upgrade to a cabin, it was beautiful, along with the views the next morning.
Only complaint, no hot water in the bathroom sink. Since we didn't have time to shower before leaving it wasn't a big deal to us. Management really should've mentioned this though.
Proximity to, and view of, the ocean.
no room for anything, floor sloped about 6inches inten feet, bathroom door had a rock to hold it open because of sloping floor, door would only partially close because it scrapped on floor, staff gave me two resturants for breakfast which were both closed for the season
We liked everything about our stay. The area was beautiful, the Gables grounds were very clean. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Quality of sleep was good only because, it is not your own bed.
The only thing that we found uncomfortable was the entrance to the beach area. It felt like we were intruding on someone's private cottage area.
WeI enjoyed sitting on our porch looking out at the bay.
We were pretty far up the hill...not Oceanside.
The cottage was a blast from the past--on the order of a Maine "camp"--only having a bathroom and kitchenette. Furnishings were cheerful, and the upholstery was very tastefully done.
We had a romantic cozy cabin (nr 23) with sea view and a lot of comfort.
Being close to the ocean and walking on the coast line.
Beautiful view, updated bathroom; friendly, helpful staff
Decor needs updating. We stayed in one of the rooms as opposed to a cottage and there was more traffic noise than we are used to.
Well I was put in cute cottage which was extremely comfortable needed a little update but very comfy. After I settled in I noticed that the facility sat in a hill just overlooking the bay with a private beach
Ceiling fan in my cottage needs cleaning and a new thermostat to control the heat also probably a new bathroom fan.
Location- Right on the water Little individual cottages Comfy Beds Warm atmosphere Welcoming staff Good restaurants close by (Papa J's Traci's Diner)
Too short of a stay
We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the water coming in, the boats going out, the sunrise coming up and the sea breeze whistling across the inlet.
Nothing. We got what we paid for.
We made a last minute reservation and got the room available, which means being right next to the ice machine and the room where the housekeeping staff go to get their supplies for their work... Bright and early. So between the ice maker, the road noise and the housekeeping staff talking loudly and slamming doors, we got about 6 hours of sleep. Wifi didn't work at night, but did the next morning.
The cottage with a kitchenette. The view. The staff. Comfort of the place.
That I couldn't stay longer.
VIEWS- Rooms-firepit-beach- great staff
Location was wonderful and the cottages were storybook like. I loved all the attention to details and the view of the sea!
One bedroom had a bed that wasn't level. It felt like you were on a life raft out to sea. Thankful it was just us and we slept in another bed.
good "home base" excellent restaurants near by, nice view of bay from porch-lots of shore birds to watch on pebble beach that was about 100 ft from cottage
cottage wasn't quite level
No breakfast - continental or otherwise
Just a nice place to stay. (Pumpkin Unit) newly renovated was perfect in every way. Great Views !
can't think of anything
Liked being close to the beach/waterfront area and having access to the beach.
Left our expensive flashlight in the room when we left, haven't heard back from my e-mail regarding it.
View and cleanliness
Needs small refrig.
Very helpful front office team of ladies with pride and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge of the area and a passion for beautiful flowers that adorn the grounds. The Motel beds were most comfortable with a newer mattress and bedding. The housekeeper makes a very neat, tight bed and linens were fresh and crisp! Very cozy feel of traditional decor- loved the French Doors opening straight out to the deck overlooking the bay. Flat screen TV and a very nicely re-done Spa-style bathroom with complimentary shampoo and lotion with separate soaps for face and body. We would definitely consider coming back to visit. Don't miss breakfast at Traci's Diner in downtown Belfast. BEST Wild Blueberry Pancakes I every tasted!!
The rooms have 'pull shades' on the front windows (but nice mini-blinds built into the French doors!). We could see where others have tried to pull on the curtains to close the stationary drapes, which now look worn. Need a better privacy solution. Mirrors in the bathrooms are hung much too high over the sinks! I'm 5'3" and could only see my face when standing on my toes. While outside enjoying the view, we saw that the deck door-frame had some wood rot and had splintered at the base needing attention. (probably from winter snows.) We checked out the beach and it was in rough shape, not showing raked or recently maintained, but the weeks before had been very rough weather, too.
