Parking is a terrible problems, we were fined 40$, please take a care to avoid the problems.
clean change towels daily location I-net speed
old furniture sofa bed very uncomfortable very limited space not parking humidity expensive for what you get
A/C was filthy and laden with bacteria and a dirty filter! Sink leaked with a bucket underneath. Bathroom did not have GFI outlets! Unit locked with a passage key lock instead of deadbolt!
Unit was clean
Traveled with companion requiring two separate beds. Unit advertised it accommodated 4 adults. Second bed was an unacceptable sofa bed with no bedding, unit had not heat, office located six blocks from unit. Bedding and heat provided on second night but we left a day early.
Quality of service of staff. Location of residence to Duval. Pool was clean and well kept Renovations are pleasing. Large deck and barbecue. Clean unit. I will go back..
No onsite parking. Street parking only. This is okay in off season. Building is hard to find, get street address. Registration at Wicker on Duval is awkward.
Excellent location, far enough away from the craziness Key West has to offer but also close enough to walk everywhere or cycle. Would recommend to families, couples and groups of friends. Really enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back!
We stayed only 2 nights. Big room, clean comfortable beds, basic kitchen facilities. Very close to pubs and restaurants but long way to sea front. Big and nice swimming pool and nice breakfast. Would recommend to anyone!
Very warm bathroom! No air-conditioning!
We stayed in the yellow room at Colors on White. We wanted something that wasn't right in the heart of Duval and love taking leisurely walks so we didn't mind the distance at all. (It's about 3/4 of a mile) The yellow room was perfect for us. We were a group of 3 adults. The bedroom had a king size bed and in the living room was a pull out couch. (Pull out couches aren't particularly comfortable but we knew that ahead of time so no complaints) The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub/shower. The kitchen is an efficiency kitchen with a stove, minifridge and dishwasher. The yellow room (and most of the others from what I saw) had a little sitting area outside our door with a table and chairs. For the money we paid and what we got, it was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved it!
When we were there it appeared they're in the process of redoing the upper deck so it was covered in a tarp, it was still usable, just not aesthetic. no biggie though since we didn't use the deck and also the hot tub outside was locked.. Being that it's august and hot we didn't plan on using it anyways so again, a nonissue for us.
Close to the action, but far enough away for quietness.
Everything was nice.
Private pool decent location
Missing papertowels in kitchen. Hair in the pullout sofa sheets. Leaves all over pool area. No ashtrays for out side
The room was nice and charming. The bed was comfortable.
The pool was small and salty. The pool area was small and confining. The outside deck was covered with a plastic tarp and looked in disrepair. Not appealing or inviting.
Clean room. Very quiet. Staff was VERY helpful and friendly.
The hot tub was broken and full of nasty water when we arrived. The 2nd day it was ripped to pieces and left on the common deck. Made the common area unusable for our entire stay.
great location close to downtown.
we were not given the room advertised online. The room we were given was very small although it had a loft that was pretty much unusable was four feet tall at best. no storage for clothes, had to live out of a suitcase is for a week.
Privacy was awesome. Our room was cute and clean.
Pool deck and grill deck were dirty. Animal feces was left on patio furniture. Yuck!
The Blue Room at Colors was very nicely decorated and had a very comfortable bed. The location was on the edge of old town, but with bikes we were able to get around really well.
I think they may have just regrouted the tile floor because walking around in bare feet resulted in gritty, black feet. We could have used some kitchen towels, and there was only decaf coffee provided. When the pullout bed was opened, there was no room to get to the bathroom from the bedroom. Great for 2 people; crowded for 3.
I liked the pool it was nice a little small but cozy and secluded. The beds were good.
bathtub was a Jacuzzi but to high and anyone coming out or in can slip and hurt themselves. The door to the bedroom was completely stuck couldn't close or open it. The parking is a nightmare there is no parking in this hotel you have to park in the streets and no one likes to have the car out in the street where you cannot see it. The second day I the cleaning lady went to do housekeeping and she didn't even clean the floors that were muddy. And last but not least no one in hotel to handle situations you have to go like 8 blocks to talk to someone that handles the reservation in a different hotel.
Walking distance to many attractions
room was clean
the stairs and maid never cleANED BATHROOM OR GAVE US FRESH TOWELS
Clean, comfortable bed
about 10 minute bike ride from Mallory Square and Duval.
Great place to stay! We stayed at "yellow" room. Big enough for two, good kitchen, nice bedroom. Bathroom was also nice and spacious (but see what we didn't like). Cleaning daily. Nice little pool and a terrace. Parking could be a problem but we were lucky to to find the only free spot on arrival, and we didn't move the car before leaving. Walking distance to everywhere.
The bathroom door was impossible to close and open. We went to the the reception and asked them to fixed it, and they promised, but nothing happened. The door seems to be broken for a while, someone in earlier rewievs mentioned about it, and also the housekeeper knew about the problem. The only negative comment to Colors on White stuff: why don't you fix the door ?
The pool was small but clean and refreshing. King bed was awesome! Pull out couch was your standard pull out and the kids did well on it. I don't know why everyone complained about the size -- I was pleasantly surprised that it was large enough for our family of four at a decent price. Put your money where your mouth is: if you expect the Marriott then book the Marriott! No parking on the property but we did not have trouble finding something close. The location was too far to walk to things but most everyone rents bikes on the key and on a bike everything was close. There is the key's best bakery that delivers awesome breakfast sandwiches close by too -- yum!
While, there were many things that I liked about our stay, there were several things that boiled down to poor management of the property or staff. Reservation was for 4 and only got 2 beach towels which were never replaced with clean ones. Never restocked coffee; had to go out and buy our own. Floors were not swept daily and no broom provided to do so ourselves. Hot tub was out of commission and grill had no gas. All easy fixes.
Great queen-size bed and good overall room comfort. The location was pretty good in a quiet part of the town, but not too far from the main street (Duval St).
- Pool was not clean (unusable) - No water in the jacuzzi, and it was dirty (unusable) - WiFi didn't work for most of our stay, and the staff did not try to solve the issue (blaming poor general WiFi reception in Key West, which was definitely not the case).
I stayed with one friend in a the yellow condo. We were very happy with the condo because it had a kitchenette, but it still lacked an oven. The condo was comfy and cute. We thought it was a pretty good value for the location. It's only a 7 minute walk from Duvall Street.
The bathroom does have a shampoo and body wash dispenser but it the products were not great. Also, we didn't know we were going to have to pay so much in city and state taxes - with just 3 days, we had an extra $50 added in unexpected taxes. Colors on White warned us about parking but parking is truly AWFUL on Key West. It is very difficult to discern residential and free parking spots on White Street where the condos are. The staff was not particularly helpful in helping us figure out which spots to use.
