Historical significance and location.
Loved the grounds. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the historical connection with Rudy Valentino.
Breakfast was really good.
road noise in our room
The property is beautiful with old fashion charm and unique characteristics such as a stream and waterfall into the Columbia river, along with natural rock settings and stone bridges.
Our room faced the freeway. We typically like to sleep with windows open for fresh cool evening air, however due to the freeway noise, that was impossible. Had I know that in advance we would have requested the river side of the hotel.
We had a river facing room, and the view of the grounds and the Columbia River was gorgeous! There is an amazing garden around the hotel where you can stroll, star gaze in the evening and enjoy amazing views of the river. The bartender let us take our wine for a lovely walk in the evening, it was truly relaxing.
The only aspect of the hotel which was not absolutely fabulous was the quality of the mattress. I like a firm bed, but this one felt like an inexpensive mattress and I didn't sleep as well as I normally do. It was not horrible, but it was not good.
Beautiful gardens and waterfalls History of the building
Beautiful location and view and ambiance. Young staff very helpful and engaging. Slept to the sound of the waterfall outside our room and the occasional train below..a good thing!
Very nice Happy Hour looking over the river. Bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the old world charm of the property.
I can't think of anything negative except for the noise level from our "garden side" room.
Dinner was excellent. Great menu and the preparation was excellent. Wonderful vintage hotel with great ambiance.
Feeling of luxury and history of the Gorge Hotel. in the lobby entry, we loved the picture of the old ballroom. I almost felt we were living The Great Gatsby. The restaurant and dinner were exquisite. Plus the grounds, walkways and views were lovely.
Bed was a bit sagging
We loved the historical setting and how well the property has been taken care of. Had a delicious dinner on the patio - the staff were so accommodating. Quality food. Fun piano player in the lounge! Be sure to walk around the grounds - a waterfall and beautiful gardens. Rooms were so comfortable. Staff found my friend's jacket in the closet and brought it to us before we realized it was left there!
the grounds where very well maintained. Bed was comfortable. A very pleasant stay. I would stay here again.
Got our drinks long after our food.
Staff was nice. Inadvertently put us in room without river view. Cheerfully corrected this. Room small but nicely appointed. Charming ambiance inside and out.
Probably overpriced for what it is, but if the tariff allows owners to preserve this historic property then it's worth it.
I love the history of the hotel!
I felt that $269.00 plus tax was a bit hefty for the room we had!
the location, the room was very nice, clean comfortable, bed was good, bath very clean. We originally were given a small very undecorated room that seemed to have road noise; we were moved to a bigger and better room upon request. The staff was kind and easy to work with.
old building smell in halls, pink doors and not clean windows in some public areas. the restaurant food was ok, it lacked some of the more polished things, like ironed table clothes!
No coffee in room, only paper cups for mooring coffee,
noise from highway
Location, ambiance, staff
Bed, air conditioning
View and the patio. Close to many attractions.
The historic aspect and location were so unique! Justin at the front desk was so helpful.
Too pricey weeks before our trip. Called the night before our stay and rate was very competitive.
Excellent room service, delicious rib eye steak.
Location and outside facade
Bed. Needs an overall fresher look
Excellent location and lovely staff. Good breakfast.
The bed was very high and not easy to get into. It was a pain having to ask the staff every time we wanted to use the elevator to get to our second floor room. One of us has a small disability so this wasn't ideal. We paid extra for the river view which wasn't spectacular and the windows were dirty.
River view and waterfall lullabye.
Staff all were very friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the waterfall and the view was great! Amenities for birthday celebration were much appreciated. Columbia River Gorge is a beautiful area.
