It was easy to stay there. Staff was friendly, parked our car very close to our room, likedvthe mini fridge, microwave and the breakfast included, it was more than I thought it would be (breakfast) and it was very convenient so that you got that out of the way and could start your day. We had young kids and we felt at ease as oppose to a mega hotel that caretered to business people, this felt homey. Was in good neighborhood, walking distance to Old Town and close to everything. Would stay there again and recomended.

Staff were good. Very helpful. Rooms were nice, we had a double queen and it was large and comfortable. We were worried about being next to the freeway but with the 2 windows and the blackout curtains closed there was little noise. The Shuttle was a great asset. Took us to Old Town and the trolley pickup. Cinquo de Mayo was happening -sooo busy, but they made alternate arrangements and got us there.

It was a bit too noisy to sit outside because of the freeway. However, that didn't bother us because the weather was chilly

My room was quite nice, comfortable, and clean. They were helpful with all my needs, and accommodating for me bringing a bicycle into my room by giving me one with extra space so I could store it there.

There isn't a room service option on site, but they do have a partnership with an outside vendor, which is nice. However, that vendor (Order Inn, I believe) had changed their menu entirely from the one in the room and was fairly expensive. Still, the convenience was nice.

I loved that it was sooooo clean. The staff helpful and pleasant and location great.

The room decor and color was very pleasing. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Very clean. Very close to Old Town and Balboa Park. Easy to find.

The underground parking was low clearance. The way you have to pull into the hotel was awkward. The eggs, gravy, biscuits, & sausage were awful. We went out for breakfast after the first morning.

I really loved this hotel. Great value for your money. Staff was great and helpful. Room looked like the pictures; modern, lots of channels. Breakfast was good for being free. The location is great to close to seaworld , zoo, shopping, and beaches.

A/c unit in room was a tad but loud.

Very friendly and professional.

I had no hot water for a shower for the evening. Not until the late am.

We loved our suite the balcony and the living room Jacuzzi two TVs two beds and the sidebar.

Parking was awful. Not enough parking had to park out in the street.

The staff was awesome and very helpful.

There were no restaurants close, like around a corner or within a block. With nothing close, would have liked availability of room service.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is a very nice hotel. Great for business travel or, in our case, a layover as part of a longer trip. Shuttle service from the airport (~10 minutes) was fast and friendly. The evening desk clerk/manager, Josh was excellent. Very friendly, attentive and helpful and knowledgable of the area. He directed us to a nearby local restaurant and even looked up what the daily special was. This young man should be the prototype for all hotel desk clerks!!

The hotel location was very convenient, and it's very clean. The staff were extremely supportive.

The staff at this location was above and beyond. Fernando our shuttle driver was so friendly and accomidating. We immensely enjoyed our visit.

Close to the freeway

Shuttles from the car hire rental terminal, to the restaurant of our choice in Old Town and to the airport. Comfortable beds. All the usual Holiday Inn Express benefits like free wi-fi, adequate breakfast etc i.e. never luxurious but good value

The receptionist on arrival was not only abrupt to the point of rudeness but also gave such wrong information on the location of Budget car rentals that it was fortunate that we checked it. (Other staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful). The room first allocated was overlooking the freeway so we asked for a room which was quieter. Because we had asked for a room with two queen beds, we were told this was impossible. We said we would have any room and were given one which was in the annexe, sideways on to the freeway and with an interconnecting door to the next room. Miss Nasty said this was the only alternative. We found we had the worst possible scenario - the noise of the freeway plus the noise of the neighbouring room because of the interconnecting door. Our neighbours were not inconsiderate but we could hear everything they were saying and, even worse, their snoring. No doubt they could hear us too though we were trying to be unnaturally quiet. This is definitely not what you want when you are facing almost 24 hours' travel the next day. Our advice is to stay just about anywhere else. Holiday Inn Express Downtown also has an airport shuttle and a much better choice of restaurants nearby. In HI Old Town definitely do not request a room with two queen beds as it WILL be overlooking the freeway and the glazing is not adequate to keep out the noise; ensure your room does not have an interconnecting door to the next room. We shall certainly never stay in this hotel again.

We came in after being post surgical for a few days and arrived at 11am. Ryan and Vangia at the front desk were helpful, professional and let us check in early. Laundry right across from the room and the smoking deck was great with a beautiful fountain.

The hotel facilities were well thought out to ensure the traveller has as many convieniences during their stay. The little shop, the breakfast and the shuttle made my stay easy. And when I had to stay longer due to some travel issues, I simply stayed at this hotel because of so many reasons. I have to also say that the staff were first class and did everything they could to help me. Dispite being a sole traveller, I felt they helped me through this lonely aspect of my trip by simply being freindly and very helpful. Clearly this was another big reason for me staying at this hotel longer. Thank you Holiday Inn Express.

Perhaps a quiet social night for travellers to chat with some cheep drinks outside?
