Score from 500 reviews Very good
This was a clean friendly hotel with a decent breakfast and ideal for a short stay
Out of the way hotel, with a long walk or a taxi ride to restaurants or cafes no nearby shops etc
The room is nice, but not really clean and located in the basement with a window.
The staff is not really friendly, of course not everyone but 2 of 3.
The breakfast and the room it was served in - very friendly
No working telephone in room The lift was too slow.
Good breakfast lunch place a few blocks away. The room rate was very reasonable particularly in New York. They offered shuttle service subway station which was very helpful.
the room could have been cleaner. There were stains on the wallpaper.
Quite new facilities
No TV remote. Have to ask from frontdesk. Given a generic one which i need to remember the code to use it. Wifi password not given till I had to ask at the front desk. Breakfast instruction was not given. (in a different floor) Asked for towels and were told will be given but never materialized.
This hotel is good if you are staying in Brooklyn. A bit difficult to commute into city. They do have complimentary breakfast and shuttle to Subway. Rooms were clean. Breakfast is ok, good for grab and go breakfast. The wifi was wonky on and off except in c level wifi was stronge. I would only stay here again if staying in brooklyn. Reason we stayed here because the price was perfect and within budget.
Very quiet. Far enough from the noise and congestion, but close enough to get to Manhattan quickly.
Woke up the next morning to a very strong smell of Marijuana in the hallway. I didn't reflect this in the rating, because I understand that the hotel had no control over that.
Cheap (for NYC), comfortable, good staff, decent facilities.
Housekeepers didn't seem that interested in cleaning the room, turning up only 3 of 6 days I stayed.
I like the location. Close to the interstate as well as the shopping area. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful when checking in and giving direction to various locations in the city.
The comforter and blanket on the bed was soiled or stained. The floor we were on reeked of marijuana to the point where it was in our room during the night and once you were in the hallway it was very overwhelming. The vending machines were on the bottom the bottom level. Not very safe.
comfort of room..room size was big
hearing that fellow guests had paid half that we paid
The young woman at desk was a whiz. She did multiple tasks competently, cheerfully, and well. She made my head whirl she was so busy and so good at what she did. I don't know her name but thought someone called her Ginny.
We walked to dinner about 6 blocks from motel after dark, and while nothing happened, I was a bit uncomfortable with surroundings.
I like only one of the reception employe
I DIDnt like the employe of reception
The hotel was just what we needed to board our cruise ship. Provided mini-bus to transport us to ship. Staff were very helpful.
the fire alarm went off late evening, but apparently something to do with a fuse in the lift. Not really anyone's fault.
Transportation to the port.
Located is a desolate area, arrived late at night, did not feel safe walking out to dinner.
It was close to the terminal which was important because we were going on a cruise lol..... one of the best features was the free shuttle. The gentleman driving the van was awesome, friendly and personable! The hotel provided shuttle service both to the subway station and the cruise terminal. We used the shuttle a lot. Desk staff was pretty good...did their best with high volume of guests.
two things were notably bad.... First, on topic with the shuttle and front desk staff.... the most critical time we needed the shuttle, the front desk staff did not followup on our request from the subway back to the hotel for 40 min and that was the day we needed to get to the cruise terminal....but the awesome driver SAVED the day! Second, there was a breaksfast staff member who was aweful... with serveral guests in the room finishing breakfast, she turned off everything including the coffee pot, fridge, drink machine and TVs. When we asked for yogurt and she about had a fit. Yet, another employees son was having his breakfast without worries! very odd behavior for someone who works with the public...she SHOULDN'T be doing that position! She was down right rude!
Excellent hotel for what we wanted. Which is mainly a place to sleep while discovering the city. Close to the metro, 10min walk (the shuttle is not always available) so able to reach Manhattan or other Brooklyn areas very easily (30-40min). Relatively comfy bed. Free parking. Great Price!
Very fair breakfast Nothing interesting to do in the close neighbourhood.
Quite environment. Staff very helpful.
The rate change without notice and the rudeness of the manager when we tried talk about being given a different amount by the staff.
lack of wifi
By accident we drove and found fairway market close by hotel, which was good for food and relaxed on the waterside. It is not only a farmers market, has breakfast, lunch and dinner food Need to inform front desk ,also other restaurants around area and can pick up snacks or fruit at the market. We only stayed 1 night but was good.
I can not think of one good thing. Sorry...
First of all, I requested for an early arrival, which was confirmed with an conformation. The hotel told me that there was no rooms available until 4pm. I showed my conformation with approval and it was still not excepted. 2nd, the parking was crazy, there was only a hand full of free spots to the hotel and then you have to park at your own risk on the street. Hotel management was the worst and they have given comfort in a mad name. The room was rushed cleaned, so there was things that was left behind from another customer that the hotel should have taken care off. If I could have gotton my money back from booking.com, I would have driven to another hotel. It was a 1 star locating that wanted 4 star money. I was very upset with my stay. I told the front desk that I was reporting there location and the reply was, do what ever you needed to do because we have already received your money from the online booking.
Pretty much everything
Comfortable beds altho only double not queen so feet at end of bed. Very clean bathroom. Good complementary breakfast even though it said 'no meal option' on invoice from booking.com. Complementary shuttle to subway (lots of places to go visit in area)& cruise terminal. Good value taxi to JFK.
Area seemed a bit dodgy so didn't walk around much. 1 receptionist- lady with long dark hair really surly & unhelpful. Others were fine.
