The building and decor is firmly stuck in the 1970's & looks very tired and grubby. The room was the size of a shoebox, with very tired furnishings and had the smallest closet I've ever used..
Friendly and welcoming staff, who tried their best. There was also decent wifi and coverage.
"Free wifi" - unsecured network, not worth the risk. Brunch - unsanitary handling of food and utensils. Rooms were not cleaned during our stay - but we did get a little note under the door from the management claiming that it was due to staffing problems beyond their control. That's kind of a big deal.
A little outdated ... In fact, very outdated. But still a good deal.
Fabulous location. Very comfy bed, bedding and pillows.
24 hour hot drinks available with free wi fi
Breakfast was disgusting - give it a skip
Bed was very comfortable, location is great, hotel is very relaxed with no hassle checking in or out
Front desk staff and comfort of the room
Terrible Rooms in terms of Space and Condition. Terrible Services and Aggressive Staff
Location is nice
Perfect location close to Lincoln Center, Central Park, and fantastic restaurants.
Room maintenance staff always misses the replacement of support goods (toilet tissue, shampoo, etc.).
Quiet location near the Central Park.
it was noisy!!!!
No fridge, no microwave oven, no small desk or table, unreliable wi-fi, dark cafeteria, deadly drafts in corner rooms
Location is great
The breakfast left a little to be desired (but it was free!). The breakfast room was very small and it was not always possible to get a table. A very small criticism.
The hotel was very close to Central Park and we spent many mornings walking through the park on the way to sight-seeing in the city. It was close enough to walk to midtown and had a subway station only a block away to travel further. Far enough out of the city not to be disturbed by constant noise at night.
Lack of food delivery run in an absence of complementary breakfast for 2 days
Staff support and service
No bad experience. There's only one elevator, so there can be some wait time during rush periods.
Friendly staff, easy check in and out. Each bed came with soft and firm pillows - great to have the choice. The room was quite small and basic, but since I was alone and only needed a place to sleep, it was fine.
The staff took too long to bring towels. The towels weren't replaced and waited waited over 20 minutes for some new ones. Breakfast area way too crowded and they ran out of food.
the radiator was producing so much noise
Very small room
The price and locale was right
Poor breakfast service Waffle maker broken, often no cooked food, one waitress for 200 guests. Only one small lift for 14 floorsb
The room walls need repainting, lots of dings and gouges. Get to breakfast early or there will be a much smaller selection.
Staff was very friendly and the location is great; quiet and very close to Central Park and the subway.
That building was not built to withstand the below freezing conditions that NYC was facing when I was there. The thermosat behind the front desk read 55 degrees. I couldnt beleive they had the staff working in such conditons.... and my room was not much better. And everyone was feeling the same way because by the time we complained about it all the extra blankets were being used by other guests. It literally ruined my stay it was so cold. I spent a lot of time in the bathroom with the hot water running for steam to warm up.
The staff that I interacted with were very friendly. The breakfast was up to expectation. Not great but good and a lot of variety.
If you are a spoiled American this is not the hotel for you. The rooms are small and not perfect. There are a few nicks in the paint and one room we had was a little dirty. Our other 3 rooms were fine. The bathrooms are small and there is no room for large luggage, unless you get a king room. This hotel is a good value for the money. If you are on a budget I recommend it. I would stay here again.
The staff is great. The beds are comfortable. Location is good, safe neighborhood. Easy subway access. Typical small NYC hotel room. Great spot away from tourist traps like Times Sq. Convenient to Big Nicks diner.
Loved the staff the room
The radiator make a lot of noise at night and it make it hard to sleep.
The location is very central
Wifi disconnected a lot . Breakfast was poor
Location, clean, helpful staff
