location was excellent, good value for money, comfortable, clean
free breakfast wasn't great as there wasn't enough room for people to sit down
The rooms are very small and smelly. Staff was rude and very unhelpful when asked things. The house keepers kept there carts and roll away beds right outside me door, so that every morning when they came in for work they were banging them on the walls!!! No one never ever stay here!!!!
I loved the location of the hotel - right in the middle of the Gaslamp District, within walking distance of the sea, Petco Park and right on the route of the sightseeing trolley. The hotel and my room were spotless/breakfast was healthy and plentiful/ staff were friendly and I didn't feel afraid there.
Elevator was a little tempremental and the area could be noisy late at night.
Good breakfast supplied - free access to computer in foyer and laundry facilities available
The double bes was too little for two persons!
Convenient to downtown, zoo, sea world, waterfront, and airport.
Our whole bed shook anytime either one of us turned over. When we arrived I asked for 2 extra pillows. They brought them up with no pillow cases. The staff weren't very friendly at the front desk. Then I am not sure why they think 2 towels is enough for 2 people as a woman I always use 2 just on my on.
if you pay twice what you're supposed to, everything else is irrelevant
We paid cash, but they charged our credit card also. Almost a month later and they still refuse they have charged the credit card, and they claim some other hotel with the same name have charged it for the same amount at the same dates. I hope I get refunded through booking.com and my credit card company, but the incompetence of the management is beyond belief.
Tiny room, dark halls, no views
Very Clean. Friendly Staff. Free Breakfast. Great location.
Location to Gaslamp Quarter, free shuttle service to hotel, taxi back to airport, cleanliness, and having a microwave/fridge in the room.
Being on the side of the hotel that was closest to the street traffic. It was hard to get a full good nights rest due to this.
There was no free parking. 18 dollars per car and on top of that they added tax.
Loved the location
The staff when we arrived was incredibly unfriendly and rude. The room is very small, by not that bad if you are just there to sleep They overcharged me. They ran out of parking so we parked extremely far away and walked in. Double charged my car for parking after all that. Then they double charged my room. Just not organized or together at all
Had difficulty with parking space. The lady at the front desk said that I was on my own for parking, since the problem was that there was a baseball game. I replied that I had come for the baseball game, and that I was expecting to have parking space; if there was not going to be available parking I would probably had chosen another hotel...finally the guy that was with the repugnant lady gave us a employee parking space behind the hotel (the guy was very nice).
They thought of everything--like popcorn, microwave, refrig, hair dryer, exercise facility. Was walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants. Free breakfast.
Very, very small room. I've never been in one smaller. No view--looked out on a wall. But I got some sleep. The breakfast was totally overcrowded and no place to sit down. I could barely even grab something to take to my room to eat. Not enough elevators! Had to wait forever since there were so many people staying there.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel, friendly professional staff and excellent breakfast choices. I was expecting more street noise but the ear plugs provided worked really well. I will definitely stay here during future visits to San Diego and will recommend your facility to all my friends.
That were was nothing to dislike.
The lady at the front desk was very nice and she cancelled our reservation at no cost to me
The gentleman at the front desk with very rude and did not give a darn wether my reservation I had via an email was not the same as the one in the system and treated us like we were not important. Never will in hotel
Breakfast and location only good things.
Rooms were filthy. When we entered the room it smelled of mildew and dirt, it was midnight so we decided to stay. Each room had a window air conditioner and rather than have them cleaned the hotel put air fresheners in the duct so the room would smell better. But, that was not the worse thing about the rooms, I do not believe the carpet had been cleaned since it was put in. I wore white socks and walked across the room and my feet were black after 4 steps. My 1yo grandson had to have his hands washed off every few minutes as they would be black from putting them on the floor. Really, really disgusting! Staff was argumentative. I booked 2 rooms thru Booking.com, a King for 3 nights and a double/queen for 2 nights. I called down when we arrived in our room and there was no king bed. When we arrived there were no king beds available even tho I conformed the day before about late arrival. The hotel eventually changed the nightly rate but not until after I showed my booking.com confirmation. I would never stay here again, you do "get what you pay for" and even tho this was a bargain, it was not!
Friendly helpful staff. Close to centre of town. Would stay again
Kitchen items and convenience
Location. Affordable. Clean. Parking. Coffee.
Sliding bathroom door was difficult to operate. Scrambled eggs as part of the free breakfast were too salty.
good location for public transport and walking through Gaslamp area and up to Balboa park not too far good service and friendly staff
when busy not enough room in the breakfast area
The location was great.
I stayed in a fabulous hotel at LA airport for $125 with a king sized bed, brand new everything, huge room, sparkling clean. We paid $129 for this cramped room, with barely enough room for the bed. Bed was tiny, we didn't realize we had only booked at double, when we wanted to upgrade there were no queen beds available. Definitely not the cleanest room I have ever been in, the coloured piece of fabric at the end of the bed had suspicious stains on it, which looked like it hadn't been washed. Grungy bathtub that creaked when you were in it, and shower with fluctuating temperature. Breakfast was only available until 9:30 which I found early, 10 would have been better for vacationing folk! Wifi was terrible, difficult to connect to on the rare occasion it did connect, and the phone in our room was crackling and impossible to hear the front desk attendant when we called about wifi issues. Wouldn't stay there again.
Fine room and bathroom Hotel staff was very nice and helpful great location
The room is slightly small and there is no nice view from the windows.
solar energy, energy saving(shutting off refrigerator,A/C when room unoccupied
Clean, good breakfast
Parking was not near the hotel with no surveillance. Rooms are really small and stuffy. Elevator sounded unstable every time we rode in it
