have stayed before, and found it clean and friendly service, breakfast very good and always well stocked with food and kept very clean and tidy
The young man at the desk was unfriendly and unprofessional. The lights did not work in the first room we were assigned. The room was changed. The second room was smelly and not very clean. I sprayed a whole bottle of Victoria's secret mist for the room to be tolerable. The shower curtain was torn. The maid came but did not clean the bathroom. The towels were coarse and the color dingy. They could use some bleach and fabric softener. Forget about the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone neither will I be staying there in the future.
it was very quiet having the van wyck expressway right next door the staff was very courteous and could answer any question i had
their was no social area like a lounge or indoor pool( winter area) remember this is N.Y.you don't want to drink and drive or venture to far away if your not from the city
Quiet car park wifi
Breakfast very few choice but attendant is helpful (she)
Hotel fine, breakfast good, desk clerk very helpful
The area is beset with problems, crime etc. en route to the hotel our taxi had to skirt roads that were blocked off by police because of a strreet incident. We did not feel safe!
The gal who took care of the breakfast area did a good job. She cleaned up and re-stocked the food quite well.
1. Not a large enough breakfast area. 2. The printer in the business area ran out of toner and was out for a week, or more as it was not fixed when we left. 3. The room they gave us was an ADA room. It had a broken hand shower head, large stain on the ceiling tile, bad outlet next to the bed, a TV that would flake out about every 20-30 minutes, little sound proofing. 4. The location to the closest sub-way was very poor. Industrial, bad sidewalks, no lighting, ect.
This was the least expensive option that we could find with numerous search sites for a room the same night as booking. When we arrived, we were given the key to a room on"C" level. When we got to the elevator we realized that "C" was the cellar and thought, 'Oh well, it was reasonably priced and all we want to do is sleep.' When we opened the door to the room and walked in we couldn't believe our eyes!!! We had been given a king/hot tub room! What a delightful SURPRISE:-)
Over all a nice place. Room was clean and Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again no doubt.
comfortable bed. Ok value. Not far from Manhattan (25-30mins)
Breakfast was disgraceful.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff!
The staff at Jamaica Inn were very friendly and accommodating during our recent stay over the Labour Day weekend. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast that was served daily was enjoyable. The Hotel was near two subway stops, only about a 5 minute walk to both. For people wanting to be closer to Manhattan, this is not the place for you. It was about a 40 minute subway ride into Manhattan, which I did not mind.
I could easily use BWJ as a pivotal base from where I could move to the other boroughs at reasonable cost.
Not too good a location if you are in for shopping.
Was quite safe and convenient, close to the train station
Unfortunately our room was in the basement and we were not told about it in advance. I were not asked to sign a bill before leaving. The hotel has ordered very expensive taxi service to the airport
Close to the airport. Friendly staff. Clean room
Its bit dated so some touching up is need it
The same breakfast every day
The room was a good size and reception staff polite.Breakfast was ok.
We booked a night in this hotel due to our late arrival at JFK.We were given a basement room which had a damp smell, a noisy fridge and airconditioner. The receptionist said he was unaware of the smell and offered a deodoriser but it would just mask the smell so we rejected it.Our 1st night in NY was ruined as the smell was so strong we hardly slept and couldnt wait to check out for our next hotel.
cleanliness, location, staff, price
The Best Western Jamaica Inn is an okay hotel, nothing fancy. Most important, the rooms are clean and the facilities are working. The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the metro, which is very convenient. The metro ride to Manhattan is a proximatly 45 minutes to an hour. Breakfast is not great, but the hotel is near little shops where you can buy bread, fruit etc.
Breakfast area holds to little chairs, so when its busy, you'll have to stand.
Cooperative staff proximity to all amenities and downtown.
Street was a bit noisy.
I like the location, the bed & the pillows are so clean and soft, the breakfast is good but few choices and the staff are so helpful!
The staff was friendly and accomodating. Subway into manhattan about 7-10 minutes walk away. Bus transportation also convenient. Room had the typical convenience of a clean bed and flat screen TV, also had mini fridge and microwave and Iron. The WIFI is included with no additional charge. Not an amazing hotel, but I would stay here again for the value.
Breakfast area can get a little crowded, but not impassable.
The breakfast room is very small and havent enough tables and chair for all guest. The breakfast is simple but in ny almost hotels havent breakfast so its ok. The shower is very bad but in summer its no problem.
location was excellent, close to many restaurants, grocery store....10-15 walk to station. comfortable bed. great to have micro/fridge. free parking. breakfast attendant was very nice. would stay here again.
no fan in bathroom no hbo. wifi was a little flaky but got it worked out. breakfast eggs were cold. maybe try scrambled next time.
everything was ok.
The cleaners dnt really clean as expected.
