Comfort Inn South Oceanfront  

Room nice very nice view! !!!!!!

The hotel was under renovation and the smell of fresh paint. My shower had no water pressure and the hottest water temperature was tepid. The carpets onthe halls need to be replaced.

location was perfect for us. we were near the golf course, easy access to beach. the continental breakfast was excellent. the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. enjoyed walk on beach meeting lots of others walking with their pups.

could not find anything that we didn'T like about our room or the hotel.

Breakfasts were very good. Staff was very approachable. Private balcony was a nice touch.

We had reserved a king oceanfront which was not available when we arrived. We had to either take a room with two double beds, accept a king bayside, or go elsewhere.

I liked the location and the continental breakfast was good.

I did not like the way the staff treated us. I called around 10:30am the day of our arrival and asked if there is any way we can do an early check- in. The lady to whom I spoke with stated to call back around noon and she would let me know, but currently there were none available. When I called back at noon there were still none available but the lady at the front desk took down my number and stated she would call when there was a room available. I had still recieved no call by 3pm so I called to check on the status of our room and there was still no room clean? So finally 4pm rolls around and we had yet to receive a phone call. We came in and there was a room for us. Then at 9:30 pm when we layed in our beds to sleep, the linens had not been changed from the previous guests!! There was a lot of sand in both beds and stains on the sheets. I felt completely disusted to have layed in that bed. I called and the manager who was on that night was very sweet and apologetic and helped me change the sheets. When I told the man at the front desk about this the following morning all he could say was "I'm very sorry, it has been written in our book of complaints". Whatever that means and offered no discount or compensation for our situation. I will not be returning to this hotel.

The Comfort Inn South is being renovated and it needs it. However, the staff of this facility were superior in customer service, friendliness and in making you feel welcome. They are the reason we returned to this motel for another visit.

How close it was to the beach and other amenities

People brought their dogs into the breakfast area where we were eating.......inside where the food was!

The location was superb -- on the beach and convenient to many amenities. The rom was both larger and nicer than we expected from the average beach hotel and the rate was very good for high season. There was sufficient parking and the breakfast was pretty good and more varied than expected. We found it very comfortable. It is close to the re-furbished Jennette's Pier, which is great and not to be missed.

No complaints at all, although travellers should be advised that the hotel is at the very south end of Nags Head and is therefore not in the middle of the majour tourist scrum of North Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, etc. We preferred that, as it meant a quieter beach and less traffic, but if one is seeking to be right in the midst of all the action so to speak, the Comfort Inn North may be a better fit.

Management tried to fix a problem when it was brought to their attention.

When we checked in, we were told that our room was ready. However, when we arrived at the room, the door was ajar. All seemed to be in order, except for the fact that a huge bowel movement was in the toilet. I mentioned this to management who immediately moved us into a different room and discounted our rate for our second night. We were so disgusted, however, that we couldn't stay the second night and left early.

Oceanfront setting, outdoor pool, breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Most of staff seemed eager to please and attempted to address our concerns, however, management was disconnected from daily operations and offered only perfunctory answers to our concerns/suggestions....see dislikes below.

After we checked in, we discovered that a huge part of the carpet in our room was squishy wet. When we contacted the front desk, they informed us that there had been a water leak in our room the day before and apparently the carpet still had water trapped in the padding. They did offer us an alternate room, but it was not oceanfront, so we declined. Two different maintenance men talked to us about this and one of them attempted to remove the remaining water with a suction device, but this did not work. It did, however, leave a faint sour odor in the room. We had to put bath towels on the carpet in order to move around the room. We were not offered any discount on the room for this inconvenience and when we were checking out, we mentioned the soaked carpet to the clerk at the front desk and one of the managers (a lady), but got no consideration whatever. The lady "thanked us" and said she would check into it, but walked off with her cup of coffee in hand without asking any questions of us whatsoever. She seemed to be in her own little world! We won't be staying here again.

Was not the cleaniest. Bathroom had mold on the walls and there was dirt in the tile flooring. The door to the balcony did not close correctly and there was light coming in all night.

It was worn out and needs a remodel. Great location good staff but tired old building in need of an upgrade.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn South Oceanfront because they had availability for our family of four on fairly short notice, and they are indeed oceanfront. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

The hotel is dog-friendly, and while we love dogs, we weren't really thrilled with that aspect of our experience. Additionally, the lobby is like something out of a low-budget 1980's film: cream-colored pleather and "chrome" furniture and mirrored walls...odd.

Erg verouderd hotel. Onaardige receptioniste. Onze reservering voor een king size bed werd niet gehonoreerd, omdat ze die niet meer hadden. We moesten een kamer met twee queens accepteren zonder dat men iets aan de prijs wilde doen. De volgende ochtend was de manager wel bereid om ons een korting op de kamerprijs te geven. Ontbijt was magertjes en in een erg treurig stemmende ruimte.
