They bake cookies and put in the lobby hot and fresh every afternoon. They have games and tables for sitting and playing with family and friends. Lobby had big television with a fireplace for watching and visiting. Family friendly.
Pool heater broke so pool couldn't be used. Some of the Front desk staff, while friendly seemed uninformed.
Needs new linens and bedding curtains. Inexpensive but not worth it.
Very nicely run hotel in Stowe. Love the cookies in the afternoon!
This older property was clean and convenient to Stowe. Family feel, dogs running free which was nice Family friendly living room and fireplace complete with in progress puzzle. In hotel bar was convenient though empty.
Breakfast was sustenance only but fine for six dollars and included eggs and bacon. Pool and hot tub looked cloudy and either heavily chlorinated or not clean. We didn't go in.
I've stayed here before, and find that the staff friendly and helpful, and it is welcoming to have the fireplace lit and fresh cookies in the lobby. Having a fridge in the room was helpful, as we were visiting family in town and brought goodies that needed refrigeration.
The decor in the rooms is a bit dated, and we had to go to the front desk to obtain a hair dryer. The TV is circa 1970, and needs updating.
told food available ,when arrived told restaurant closed.
The best part about that place was the bar.
The indoor heated pool was 40 degrees. None of the the hot tubs were working. The pool table along with other games in the rec area were also broken.
Courteous staff Nice facilities Great location
Good location, low rates, coffee available all day in lobby, homey lobby area, good tv in room, refrigerator, large room size
Dinginess of rooms, bathroom tub had burn marks and rust stains from previous guests' items, sink cracked and fading, carpet worn, water damage stains on ceiling throughout room, heat didn't work, no safety latch/lock on doors, dated decor, no on demand movies, lampshades stained or dingy. Guests downscale and sketchy. Unruly kuds running up and down hallways late at night and early in morning. Had cheap motel feel
Easy to find .Food OK
Staff were poor maybe it was the end of season effect. They were not really interested in wether you were there or not as long as you tipped them
warm welcome from receptionist , complimentary juice and cookies also coffee all the time . Good value food in bar area with friendly barman .
Loved the restaurant, the chef and waiter Paul in particular were excellent. Food fantastic service perfect. Lake, surroundings and location great for local sights. Room comfortable, adequate. Parking free. Nice communal lounge area with TV. All staff including domestic very pleasant and accommodating thank you.Outdoor pool nice once you get over the shock of the cold water. We really did enjoy our stay here.
The bathroom was desperately in need of a refurbishment, whilst it was clean there was in ground dirty staining on the none slip shower area. Games room, gym, sauna and hot tub areas drab and games machines, gym equipment and 2 hot tubs not working.Sauna in separate area to pool quite a hike down main corridor in your towel ! Also broken tiles around step rails of pool and rails unstable. All these facilities close at 10 and we were asked to leave the games room at 9.45 one night in the middle of a game of pool ! The member of staff was persuaded to let us finish our game. Another hour on all of these facilities would be very welcome, teenagers do not like to go to their beds by 10. This with proper upkeep of all areas could be a wonderful place.
We walked in on a rainy day and there was a great selection of homemade cookies inviting us to sit on a couch in front of a fire in the lobby fireplace! Also, despite our room being on first floor near the lobby, it was very quiet and I got a great night sleep!
Breakfast Activities, inside and out Location to Stowe Area and Montpelier Dog friendly
Wifi/Internet spotty depending on location of room.
Most of the staff was very pleasant and helpful
One desk worker was rude like we were from out of state and did not belong ! Helloooo it's a hotel
There's a Dutch pancake restaurant nearby which was a great alternative to paying for the hotel breakfast. They put cookies out in the lobby around 5pm or so which was nice when we checked in.
The Wi-Fi was only available while in the lobby. Breakfast was extra.
Commodores accomodated our family of five in one room (with the use of a rollaway bed). The room was fine and the hotel was clean. The location is very good. There is a great little pond in the back that you can kayak on. There is a game room with a ping pong table that the kids enjoyed in the late evening. Good value at a very reasonable price.
Room was comfortable. Liked the outdoor pool and lake. Breakfast was wonderful.
Musty smell in the back rooms.
Restaurant very good. Staff great!
Old TVs ...?? Keys?
The staff was very accommodating, courteous, and friendly! I really liked the lounge and also the lake outside.
The room needs updating and I saw two black bugs. One in my room and one in my hallway. Possibly water bugs. There were different wings in the hotel. Maybe rooms in other areas were better. I suggest checking out the room before you stay.
The retiree at the front desk was sweet, helpful and polite...that is it
Filthy rooms, severly Dated everything, Hot Tub cold, Windows everywhere require power wash, Disgusting Breakfast. Neglected by owner - reviewed by a hotelier
kayaking on their pond was free. The location was great. they had out cookies and lemonade when we arrived. Lots of puzzles and games to borrow. the wifi was nice to have and the hot tub and pool were also very nice. The beds were comfortable.
We had a good game of ping pong with the almost depeated paddles. The food price of the buffet is grang... well i just had the soup and salad and it was 12$ kind of steep I think.
Traveling with older kids, mainly to visit family. Love the pond, using canoe, kayak and paddle board. Enjoy indoor pool (rained) and jacuzzi. Great cookies in afternoon.
Showing age a little, peeling wall paper, stained ceiling, older furniture in dining room. Front staff nice, but not overly welcoming. Should wear name tag and greet each person that comes in. Hot water in shower too hot.
The room was spacious and clean, the staff were very helpful, location was good for where we were going. They also had coffee and tea available all day, and cookies at night. There was a restaurant, but we didn't eat there.
The wifi would just freeze, especially in the evening, the parking lot filled with restaurant customers, so if we came back at dinner time, parking was an issue.
Friendliness of staff..knowledge of staff...decent room
Restaurant is overpriced....rooms need updating....few ammenities for priced paid...no iron, hair dryer, microwave, no information packet in room with all hotel particulars...etc
