Ambience of the location.
We had to shower with cold water for one day because they were doing work with it but it was back on the next day.
It is located in a great part of the city! Great price&quality balance.
Perfect for our needs. Nothing fancy or special, but perfectly suited us.
Nothing really, the stairs may bother others, but didn't phase us.
No parking No night staff No complimentary breakfast Expensive Old Beds Closet size room
Very convenient location
2 completely separate single beds – 1 under the television on the basement level would not recommend that particular accommodation – perhaps upstairs is better front office staff for the first three days was uninformed and not very helpful
After despairing that we wouldn't find a room in Boston for less than $400, we found Commonwealth Court. The location is excellent - right in the Back Bay, close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The room itself wasn't anything amazing, but it was clean, didn't smell and even included a little stove and refrigerator.
My boyfriend complained that the bed was too hard. Also, it was very warm in the room when we arrived.
Without warning, they cleaned carpets & the room and hallways were very wet when I retuned in the evening , causing my bag which I had placed on the floor to get wet as well as my socks and feet when I took off my shoes....unacceptable to not at least give notice
The chicking hour wss 11 . The wifi was not working for 6d
can not get wifi, i ask the manager to fix it, he (male) was not nice.
We enjoyed our stay. Conveniently located, easy walk for where we wanted to go. Very clean. Excellent value for the money. Will definitely stay there in the future.
Really no complaints. It surpassed our expectations.
Only think I like is the hospitality of the staff especially the management they were very kind to me
The toilet was not cleaned properly and bed not properly dressed everyday through out my stay
Upon arrival, I asked the front desk guy for a subway map and he offhandedly pointed to a stack of city maps - no help. My room was ok, looked more like a hostel than a hotel. Sparse and run down. There was no hot water for a shower in the morning! I called the front desk and no one answered so I had to take a cold shower. When I went to check out, there was no one in the office. I had asked to leave my luggage for a couple hours. I waited until 10 AM for a lady to show up for the day. I asked about a subway to the airport, and she told me to take the bus and my CharliePass wouldn't work. All-in-all, I would Not recommend this hotel to anyone.
No elevator; carpet smells; shower very old and in bad conditions; took the luggage out myself for checkout.
Carpets and bedding old and grubby
-Close to Newbury and Boylston street - Two T-stops nearby - AC and heat in the room -Friendly staff
-bathroom too small -no elevator
Excellent location & having kitchen facilities ( cooker hob very old & unsafe ) . Towels replaced every day , but we're very shabby & thread bare to say the least !
Needed to ask to have bed sheets changed & ones that actually fitted the bed! .. Bathroom & kitchen facilities could be updated ! .. Very ancient cooker hob & unsafe .
Wonderful place to stay, with a refrigerator and a little stove, a pot and pan, some plates and silverware and a coffee maker. Clean, nothing fancy but very good value for the money. A great location!
Steps to Newbury street, 15 min. to Copely Square, and a 10 min. direct bus ride to Harvard square. Felt like a local in this cozy brownstone watching the fashionable crowd flow past the window. And let's not forget the bargain price. Keep your gym and pool, I'll take this place any day.
Building is on a main street and near a college, so lots of city noise at night. Room could stand to be updated, especially the bathroom.
Location. staff very friendly and helpful. Bathing facilities tiny but adequate. Comfortable bed. Out of hours arrangements efficient.
Not too clean. Mould in bathroom. Tv control thus tv didnt work. Kitchen facilities grubby and extremely old and basic. Was there daily cleaning? Not noticeable except bed made. Room a bit bleak. No elevator lots of stairs.
Not THAT clean. Very old building with no elevators.
The carpet could have been newer
The location was excellent
- The reception is open from 10:30am-5pm so most of the time there's no one there. - The rooms were genuinely dirty. - I wouldn't use the kitchen at all because the pans and pots were filthy and old. - The room smelled.
Totally quirky place and probably would not stay there again since it was not a total deal.
The bed was not great and could not figure out the tv remote.
