Congress Plaza Hotel

When l checked in and l realized that, my room was in the back, l went back to the receptionist and she put me in a better location. The doormen were very helpful. The receptionist were very nice and helpful and the housekeeper all did their best. I will stay there again.

Parking, l wish there is a free parking.

window view is awful, extremely poor breakfast, non-frendly personal, alarm clock was broken, TV set as well!

We liked the old fashioned feel of the place; high ceilings, huge windows, etc. We loved the location; we walked everywhere.

We were not happy to find picketers outside the hotel. It wasn't clear to us that we had to cross a picket line. The walls between rooms were very thin and we could hear everything (!) going on in the next room. Also right before we checked out, we spotted a huge cockroach which was a bit of a surprise, especially since we were on the 9th floor.

The cleaning people repeatedly knocked on the door to clean the room even though check out was not until 12pm, this was extremely annoying.

The location of the hotel was good and the view of the lake was amazing.

The staff wasn't the best and the hotel does charge a deposit that isn't included on you booking.com receipt.

I have stayed twice at the Congress Plaza Hotel. Each time, I have enjoyed a large, clean, comfortable, well appointed room with spectacular views of Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The staff is responsive, efficient and professional. The bar, restaurants, exercise facilities, gift shop and public areas are well done and provide a great value. The location, a few blocks from the loop, has allowed me to roam the city and suburbs without a car. I will remember my visits to Chicago more fondly because of my happy stays at the Congress Plaza Hotel.

The room size, the size of the bed, the location, the nice television, and the option of making a pot of coffee in the morning, although I did not do so.

It did get a little toasty in the room and we had to sleep with the windows open. We were on floor 11, but I imagine that closer to the bottom floors, sleeping with the windows open might get noisy. But we slept very, very well.

we had a Lakeview room and the sunrise over the lake and the Sat night fireworks were special

The water pipes are old and the bathroom smelled horrible

The hotel was beautiful and the view was as well.

Our room was sooooooooooo hot, we could not get comfortable.

The location, accross the street from Grant Park and near several world-class museums, was excellent.

As an older hotel, there were several infrastructure problems, such as poorly regulated heat / air conditioning. Also, my bathroom was missing a door knob for the duration. But the bed and furniture were modern and comfortable, and the room was spacious with a great view of the lake.
