They were very accommodating trying to find the room with the least noise.
Very loud, horrible noise because it is right beside the above ground train, shakes the whole hotel.
Corona Hotel is great budget option. Interior is clean and modest. It's not fancy but it's well kept up. We stayed the weekend of 10.09.14 and they were doing renovations in the lobby. Right outside on Roosevelt Ave. is an elevated train track and the #7 train rumbles by about every 5 minutes. It's an urban experience and anyone who's grown up in a big city knows that sound. Tourists coming from quieter homes may not like it. We had a room in the back and it was quiet enough. The train just sounds like white noise, or waves on an ocean. Owner Raj Patel is friendly and helpful. Metro stop is 3 blocks from hotel which was super convenient. We came home one night at 1:30 am and there were a few people out and about, it wasn't deserted like you'd expect, but then again, this is NY City.
Breakfast room is near front of hotel and you get the full volume train sound every 5 minutes. Breakfast was average, all carbs.
Nice, clean, and comfortable room, decent breakfast except for the orange juice. The only place I found at a reasonable price that had an airport shuttle. The two shuttle rides I had were very valuable to me.
Hotel located under the elevated train. I was on the side away from direct exposure to it, but the train runs several times during the night, rumbling the building and making noise. Only place I wished to walk to (kinda scary city street) was a nearby place to get pizza. Clerk vague about "nearby Chinese restaurants". I couldn't see them. No advice from hotel on where to stand or what to look for when awaiting pickup at airport. By chance, after a lengthy wait, I changed my search to a traffic lane behind me, and eventually spotted the small sign of the limo company in the driver's window as he almost drove by. Don't know why he didn't pull over and hold a sign, as other drivers were doing.
The room was exactly as pictured in the online ads. The bed...OMG...SO COMFORTABLE!! We slept like babies! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free shuttle service is very personal- just you and the driver in a Town Car and easy to coordinate. They allowed up to "check in" our luggage so we could go explore the city. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so we had to open our windows in order to hear the subway train. I would book here again for sure!
Having never been to NYC, the neighborhood made us a little apprehensive- I assumed it would be all shiny and NYC-like and what we got was graffiti and the elevated train- very "street urban". Once we got over our naive shock, we loved it!! Apparently, we've led sheltered lives..LOL The continental breakfast could stay open a little longer- road weary travelers tend to sleep in a bit and require food past 9am. Otherwise, the service was great.
Noise. Continental breakfast was terrible. dirty. Not close to laguardia
Very noise next subway, you can not sleep. The staff wasn't nice.
staff was friendly 24 hour coffee available close to metro station
very noisy elevator (architect error) no bath plug (option to take a bath) towels not clean (found hair not belonging to either of us) breakfast was poor and pure sugar Noisy metro just outside
close to subway station
Hairs everywhere in the bathroom, very loud at night. Breakfast is a joke, there are some yoghurts, hard bagels, and toast next to the reception, that's it. Wanted to borrow an iPhone charger at the reception: no chance. Uber from LGA to the hotel is 11 Dollars.
Clean newly renovated
Wifi not secured
Should be at 125 to130 a nite nothing more
A better breakfast
Great room, comfy bed and friendly staff. Lots of Latin American food within a few city blocks. The hotel is on a train line, right across the street. Train noise is minimal since the windows are double paned.
The neighborhood is so so but it's on par for Queens, NY.
cleanliness, newly remodeled
False advertising. Ad stated 2 miles from LGA. It's actually 10 miles away and in a very dangerous section of Flushing,Queens. Hotel has no restaurant and is right beneath an elevated train that operates at night. Very noisy. Taxi from LGA costs $27.50
The room was well kept, clean and modern.
We were very close to the subway but insulated so it was just a rumble in the distance. The continental breakfast was very Spartan for the price of the room
- location - direct train to Manhattan - free parking - helpful staff - colorful neighbourhood
- the hotel is right in front of the train line, therefore quite noisy. You just have to ask for a bedroom in the back of the hotel for a more peaceful stay.
Service of hotel is good
Noise from metro
Minutes away from Citi field and the subway.
Entrance to parking lot could be tight for larger vehicles
Room was decent and clean.
You can hear the train passing. The Parking lot is too small you could damage your vehicle. Staff wasn't friendly.
My friends were stranded in NYC with no credit card for hotel. I called and spoke with hotel staff they were super friendly with resv and cc auth. Helped w/resv, directions, changed room type since I booked the wrong room type for them. According to my friends, hotel and rooms were cute and very clean. Great staff.
nice room. clean and comfortable
a bit noisey
Hotel was cleaner than anticipated with the location
location is a little scary.
The location was great for going to a Mets game and with close access to the subway. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Thr rooms were clean. The parking lot as secure as possible without a guard. Breakfast choices were varied and good quality.
On our last night, there was some sort of block party behind the hotel that went until 5 am with loud music that kept me up all night. Not the hotel's fault but frustrating. No view, including being on a street with the train running down the middle of the street. No restaurant in the building. The coffee cups were way too small at breakfast. Our beds had a sunken spot all the way across the bed. Somewhat iffy neighborhood after dark and the street was terribly loud with the train, although you could not hear it in our room at the back. The parking was limited and on a first come, first serve basis. We didn't have to park on the street, but we got lucky.
Its near the airport
To close to the train
Cleaning and good sound proof.
Price and general aspect.
Convenience to Flushing Meadows. Location was the biggest factor.
This is boutique style hotel, and amenities for food, shopping are not there. Clean, quiet, and friendly with good proximity for US Open.
Walking distance to the US Open. Free breakfast.
Not a great neighborhood.
