The location was the only thing I liked
Upon arrival we found out the hotel was completely under renovation when we get into our room we found moldy food in our fridge a dirty toilet while there we had no hot water water was cold the whole time of our stay The toilet backed up and overflowed at one point the staff came in through towels down on top of it did not mop or clean up or do anything just through towels down needless to say our stay was not very pleasant was not comped in any sort of way for way we were treated would never stay at this place again and will never recommend it to anyone I know
Under construction at the time of our visit
The staff were all very nice.
My room had NO WINDOWS and only one door. That has got to be a fire hazard! The carpet was horribly stained. And, I'm sorry to be crude. But there was a pubic hair on the inside of the bath tub.
Under construction and painting. Smell of paint so bad I could not stand to stay there.
The rooms were nice and the price was good
The remodeling caused problems. No parking and the hot water was off everyday from 10 am-4pm. Once remodeling is finished this will be a great hotel!
Lots of construction that we weren't aware of until we showed up. Elevators were either out of service or extremely slow.
Great location and very helpful staff
Hot water was out all weekend.
They are remodeling floors 2, 5-7 and the hotel lobby. No pool at all. No breakfast given out. No lobby to sit and relax in. Overall not a good place to stay right now.
Hotel was under complete renovation when I booked; Nothing online showed that. Jackhammers began work in the room next door promptly at 8am every morning. Pool was shut down as was the entire top half of the hotel. Interior was dated, carpet was torn and rippled throughout. Inside of room: creaky/warped bed, boob tube tv, cracked/teeter-totter tiling on bathroom floor, can't open bathroom door with someone sitting, vents from room to room let in direct sound, pillows were like sleeping on xtra large curd cottage cheese, bathroom curtains had multiple black mold spots, coffee lids looked stained from use, and overall minor things unclean throughout room. I will research customer reviews on google next time I book a hotel! Found reviews after the fact which all have the same substance as this one.
I had a small room but it was quite nice and clean. It also included fridge and microwave. Coffee and pastries in am. Perfect location!!!
Loss of hot water due to remodeling. Marriott has purchased property. Closes June 1 2014 :-((
This hotel was under construction and should not lease out rooms because of dust, mold, rust, air condition problems, no hot water and water leaks!
Oriental breakfast should be served
Close to Bourbon St, the trolley and the Garden District
I as never booked into this hotel. I had to go to anther hotel for the night. evidently you didn't inform them that I was coming, and they would not book be a room for the night, saying I had to get in touch with you. that was impossible since I was arriving by train and there was no wifi service available
building renovation of property.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has major re-construction going on so other factors are a bit unfair to rate, without taking that into consideration. I was aware of this before I booked.
The property is being reinnovated, with the normal disruptions, dirt and noise. The staff did their best to make the stay comfortable and overall everything was good. I was informed of the construction before booking.
Most everything else. Jackhammer at 5 am, fire alarm at 4am, no hot water, very small bathroom. The worst hotel stay of our lives for all six of us and we've traveled all over this country and the world.
building is undergoing renovation (it needs it) still functional, rooms are not bad, just have to deal with main entrance that is hidden and partly closed off, and assocated construction noise.
Tight room, but comfortable and great location.
Could not take a bath. No stopper and never got hot water. Our room faced carondeler and all night long we heard people outside hollering then the fire alarm went off at 4:00 am! Has to go down 3 flights of stairs and I recently had foot surgery. It was miserable night.
Location and staff were very helpful
Hotel was under massive remodelling. No lobby or lounge in use. Construction started at 6.30am! Fire alarm went off at 4am the next morning, will probably be a great place once construction is finished but I wouldn't stay there again until it is.
* Couldn't be in a better spot. * Very helpful staff, although it took a bit for them to realise I wasn't interested in Bourbon St and to get the good spots out of them. * Very clean.
* Parking is farmed out to the neighbouring hotel. $16 a night if you park yourself in an eye-wateringly tight garage, $38 for Valet. * I had no hot water when checking out. The hotel is being renovated and upgraded to a design hotel. It can happen, I wasn't angry, they gave me a small discount, but I got charged the full amount on my CC.
The location was excellent, blocks from the French Quarter but reasonably quiet. The staff was quite pleasant
The hotel is being renovated so there was loud construction noise and the water was turned off, often from 10 am to 5 pm. The hotel is in need of renovation -- the carpets are old and dirty, etc -- just wish we somehow had been warned.
The staff was friendly and the location was close to Bourbon street and the French Quarter. When able to shower, the water pressure and temp was superb!
The water was off for extended periods of time die to renovations, there were stains on the hall floors, room curtains, and bedding. The room needs to be updated and the television is outdated.
