Room was spacious & clean.
There are some stains on the ceiling & bathroom floor. Could use a renovation or paint job. Not a fan of hard boiled eggs, prefer other options, but breakfast was nice. More fruit choices, besides bananas & apples wld be nice. Hot chocolate or caffeine free teas wld be nice too.
Nice location away from busy sites Friendly staff, making the breakfast serving a personal experience Location of the breakfast room worth the little walk up the hill (great views)
Although well maintained old facilities Noisy, although typically guests here seem to come for rest and silence
Excellent and friendly breakfast service and nice pool for kids in a very cosy accomodation in walking distance to all the wine tastings and restaurants in town.
Good and free wifi Comfortable room Quiet and nice Good location if you have a car
Hard to find a parking spot Absolutely no oxygen in the fitness room (smells plastic) The reception team was very nice and helpful but cannot say the same for the restaurant team!
The carpet was stained and needed replacing. The bathroom was very dated and shower lacked power. Accommodation overprized. Needed a renovation.
Location View Service Room decor Guys serving breakfast - charming
Could hear other guests in rooms Wifi
Thus review is for the Acacia Lodge. Great location, less than half a mile from shops, tasting rooms and great restaurants. Park the car and walk. Parking spaces are extra wide so you don't half to worry about other guests dinging up your vehicle. Clean, modern, spacious rooms that open onto a nice pool and spa. Nice views of surrounding mountains from patios, pool and breakfast room.
Loved the garden and the sense of peace. We sat outside with a bottle of wine and some cheese - lovely. Breakfast was surprisingly good
This is basically a motel. Had there been people in the adjoining rooms, our experience could have been very different.
breakfast waffles and service
showers were noisy, walls were thin
Rustic charm, friendly and a pleasant location.
Very dated furnishings and decor
Gorgeous setting. Breakfast room has very nice view.
Lack of A/C should be disclosed in property description. Walls are thin - you are a participant in any conversations going on next door. Lack of A/C means you sleep with windows open so you get to hear it all when someone stumbles in late.
Superb location and wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Our experiences with the staff were all great - very nice people. The grounds were nicely maintained with lots of garden plots and flowers. It is an older place, but charming, the room was on the larger side and it was plenty clean, and had a little balcony to sit out on. We would stay here again.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was a descent spread.
For the price, I expected more in regards to accommodations. The room resembled more of a studio apartment with a 1980's layout and furnishings.
Setting, room, pool, breakfast, local restaurant Cafe Rustica
Very nice place - and the area around is beautiful! We came from noisy San Francisco, to a place with nice atmosphere - and the staff was so friendly! Especially the staff in the breakfast. Thank you so much for great hospitality - we loved it there!
Quiet and relaxing
I liked that the place was clean overall. I appreciated the complimentary breakfast.
The place needs update. The shower head reminds me of the shower at a gym or high school dorm. This place probably hasn't been updated in decades but just like any other property in the bay area, you pay for the location and property owners can get away with not updating. The pool wasn't very clean.
Breakfast, the service we impeccable and such a beautiful location. It was great the whole town was walkable - all the better to explore the restaurants and wine tasting rooms.
The location is fantastic in wonderful Carmel Valley, a really charming place. The guy in the breakfastroom was really serviceminded.
The hotel is actually two different places. The Acacia part where we lived has normal motel-standard, not very fancy. The pictures at internet is from the Hidden Valley part with higher standard, look out for that. The Acacia part is not value for money
Very close to wedding venue we were in town for. When we had a problem with our bathroom sink Denice went above and beyond to make up for the inconvenience.
Walls are thin. You can hear everything going on in the neighboring rooms.
Beautiful location ... charming and peaceful. Beds were very comfortable and good size bedroom. Dirk was the perfect host at breakfast.
Carmel valley is a nice place to stay. Several good restaurants there and wine tasting places. Country Garden Inns is an excellent choice with a great breakfast!
Only a regret, Jacuzzi and pool were not up and running in January 2014
I think there was one other couple staying there. Breakfast staff was lovely as was breakfast.
I thought that the wine walk was actually going to be WALKING DISTANCE. The map wasn't to scale and much too far to walk. We left to go back to the Moonstone properties in Cambria and Monterrey that we expected with this one...not so. Staff member didn't know directions and I'm terrible at direction! Pool closed...
